I searched to find if there was a fuse or reset button in my 1500w inverter. I came across this video. I opened the inverter and found 6 blown 30a fuses. I changed them and the Schumacher 1500 Watt Power Inverter is back in service. THANKS!!!!!
Your comment made me very happy! You save electronics from landfill, accomplished a challenge and have an inverter to use now! congrats and thank you for commenting!
Thankyou Sir, mine same as your inverter and this was the problem 61 year old female uses a soldering iron and 2 fuses job done ✔ grateful for the video
thank you, I just got exactly same inverter not working and search and find this video before I decide to buy a new one. I luckily find inside there is a plugin fuse, no welding required. A BIG THANKS and Merry Christmas!
Lucky you, you can fry and fix it quickly! I guess they figured it out that it shouldn't be soldered but rather plugged in. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I did exactly that today....accidentally inverted the polarity 😮 My inverter is different than the one you show and has a fuse in the positive lead. The fuse is a 200 Amp fuse, not like the mini fuse shown in your video. It looks okay but maybe there are a couple more fuses inside the body of the inverter. Thank you for this video. It provides me with the guidance and any extra steps that I may need to take.
I really hope that yours is a newer model and they designed with a serviceable fuse outside the box. Hopefully by replacing the fuse on the lead it solves your issue.
@photographiedynamic because I'm travelling for another 4 weeks, I decided to just buy a new inverter and fix the broken one when I get home. I broke and now have a newer model, Everstart Maxx 1000 watt modified sine wave inverter. I found another video that shows exactly how to fix it, too. I'm more educated about inverters than I ever thought I would have to be!!! 🙌😀
@@NomadJan one more thing to understand about inverters: "Modified sine wave inverters are cheaper but their efficiency is only good enough for non-delicate devices. On the other hand, pure sine wave inverters are the most costly but they can power up all home and delicate appliances as efficiently and as safely as a home or office outlet could."
@photographiedynamic thank you, I do realize that but I don't have the budget right now. I'd rather go without one at all before spending my travelling budget. I'll get a pure sine inverter another time.
@@photographiedynamic I'm going to replace it. I had a similar problem today with a new LED strip I bought. Solved that one using a 9 volt battery rather than cooking it 😄Thank you 🙂🙂
Update, took it apart, the lead had red electrical tape on the inside where it couldn't be seen 🙄 The fuse however was just clipped on and not soldered. All repaired now and positive and negative crimp connectors fixed on the ends of the lead 😎

I have a motomaster 3000 watt inverter that has power but not power to plugs. I opened it up and it has about 20 25 amp blade fuses but I can't pull them out. They seem to be soldered in. Is this normal? How can I check them?
The "intelligent" people who designed and manufactured these inverters did not follow any electrical engineering rules. You never solder a fuse to a pcb, it need a socket so that it can be easily replaced. Take a multimeter and test for continuity if you can touch both end of the fuse. No continuity means the fuse is burnt. You would have to use a soldering iron to remove and replace them with a new one.
Hey werid !!! But I just try to switch out the fuse on a power inverter I have that was blown due to reverse polarity and now it’s fine but when I try to turn it on all it does is make a click sound? What do you think it is?
I have used the unit for around a year and when fixing my truck cigarette lighter charger my idiot self connected the wires wrong and the fuse blew. And now I changed it and soldered it on and now it just click sounds. I’m not the best soldering guy either but it looks ok and didn’t touch anything else
Sir can I ask question pls... I have 12dc to 220ac inverter here, but it keeps on buzzing every time I try.. What should I do? This is new bought from online.. Pls response.. Thannkyou
First thing to check is: does the 12 v battery have enough power? Try plunging to a fully charged car battery. Then make sure the appliance you are plugging on it does not consume more than what the battery and inverter can provide.
@@photographiedynamic but I tried it on car battery, and on a motorcycle battery, but the result is just the same sir, icant try any appliances because every time I try to plug it to the battery, it keeps on buzzing, and red lights, which labelled "fault" there the normal is "power" but it doesn't. Replace the lead right away to prevent future issues or grab a red electrical tape and cover the black wire with it. Thank for comment!

that is a very common design for inexpensive inverters. They want you to buy another one not re[lace the fuse
governments should charge them for waste disposal or they should take the dead ones back and spend money on recycling them.
Thanks, very helpful.

Thanks mate how much will I cost against buyin new one can u du mine it's to difficult , I ar a clever man u ar thanks

Are you sure it's the right fuse? Are you getting the polarity right when you are plugging it? Can't think of anything else.

Why mine blows my car's radio fuse?
It sounds like your are shorting the cigarette lighter plug. Make sure the plug of the inverter is not broken otherwise the inverter is defective.
