    Excellent video. Thank you, purchased my NVR a while ago, but didn't install it as my home network cupboard was a nightmare of cables due to the technician that wired everything up.
    So spent the day tidying it all up and removing obsolete components.
    With the help of your video I got my NVR up and running! Thank you!!🙂

    Just got a full system and had to resort to searching to set up. Thanks so much for this, I was able to get the directly connected cameras set up, Struggling on getting the 2 that are connected via the rest of the network rather than direct to the dedicated camera ports on the rear.

    @Bits And Bobs regarding the camera Micro SD card vs NVR hard disk. So, these two devices have storage. What's the benefit of Micro SD card?
    Can you choose where to record data if you have both storages (each card Micro SD card and NVR hard disk) installed?

    • @bitsandbobs356
      @bitsandbobs356  Рік тому +1

      One benefit of using SD cards I could see would be if you only wanted to have a couple of cameras and already had a PoE switch or 12v adapter and didn't want to go to the expense of an NVR.
      Since I don't use SD cards, I can't say for certain that you can record to both. I would assume it would be possible but as mentioned, not 100% certain.

    Thank you very much for a great tutorial. How do I connect my mobile device to connect. With the older versions, it was relatively easy but with the new Hikvision NVR, it has proven to be a challenge.

      I use the iVMS-4500 app to remote view my cameras. For remote access, I use "Register Mode" = "IP/Domain" and for the "Address" I use No-IP.org to have a "static" address and configure my router to port forward port 8000 to my NVR. Then I just enter my HikVision NVR username and password and select which cameras I want. I also have a "Home" based profile for access where the only difference is the "Address" is my NVR's IP address rather than the No-IP.org address.

      Hi
      I'm not an expert in the various camera that are available as I've had my system up for years and haven't looked at what's come out since then.
      I suggest looking at some of the videos on the "The Hook Up" channel such as this one - ua-cam.com/video/BVg81haX2c0/v-deo.html
      Also check out this site - calculator.ipvm.com/ - as you can input your address and put cameras at various parts of your house, input the camera type and it will give you an indication of what you can see. It does have a short time restriction, but you can re-fresh the screen and start again and for the second (or future goes), you can have your information ready to input.

    Nice images, what I find interesting is the drift to out of focus images at night compared to the daytime images, is this due to the fixed lens?

    • @EsarhaddonPrime
      @EsarhaddonPrime 4 роки тому

      FYI for anyone that is looking-it is relatively simple (once you know how). You need the QR code off the back of the machine and the Verification Code that you created when you set up the system. DON'T go down the Dynamic DNS route. May of the videos on UA-cam are old and cover this. Technology and setup has move on from this. Much simpler now.

      @@EsarhaddonPrime When you are using the web browser pointing to your NVR IP address, and you've logged in, you should be at the "Live View" tab.
      On the left side should be a list of your cameras. I find I need to click the camera icon to the left of the name, not on the name itself, for the view to appear.
      To select another camera and still view the first, make sure you click in one of the grey boxed areas where the view is to appear before clicking on the camera icon.
      I hope that helps.

      TBH, I'm not sure.
      When I go into the NVR on my browser and go to the "Configuration" tab, there is "Vehicle Detection" option but when I first click on it, a pop up box appears saying the camera doesn't support it.
      Furtherdown on the left hand side menu is "Human Body Capture" but once again, I get the pop up saying the camera doesn't support the feature.

      You can set up motion detection and line crossing detection. Motion is motion, not yet discovered how to discriminate between a vehicle, a person or a bird or shadow from trees. Settings can be found in the motion menu, set each camera individually based on your requirements.

    Is the verification code the same as the password you have set?

    • @bitsandbobs356
      @bitsandbobs356  3 роки тому

      The verification code can be anything you want. You will use this when you create a Hik-Connect account and go to "add device".
      You will be prompted for the serial number of the PVR you want to add plus the verification code you created at the 14:16 mark of my video.
      Instructions on using the Hik-connect service can be found at www.hik-connect.com/views/terms/newHelp/helpIos/GUID-A708C1FF-0756-4D2A-8883-9E2EBC972F49.html

    Thank you very much for you video, it was really helpful. Btw, could you explain more about the wiring of the RJ45 cables that are used for the cameras? Are they a straight trough or crossover cables?

    • @bitsandbobs356
      @bitsandbobs356  3 роки тому +1

      Due to cabling laws, I had a licensed electrician run the cables from the eaves to the hallway cabinet and these would be straight through cables.
      I then used straight through patch cables from the termination points to the NVR.
