Jim we would like to see more of your lessons...you are a natural....
I agree.
Jimbob Keith Caudill says hey from Phoenix AZ!
Jim Bob, Life is funny, Sitting here in some little town in Western Montana with an old Musician Friend of yours Kenny Watson, he has some wonderful memories and stories of your time together. I pulled this up and made a cowboy smile.
Learning how to play, have been a guitar player my whole life. Thank you for giving some clarity to this crazy instrument.
Thanks, Jimmy. You should call Jim and let him know he needs to go back to Montana and make some more videos!
Thank you so much Jim!! Your lessons are the best. You are an excellent teacher.
Thank you! Been a guitarist for most of my life and a Sho-Bud is soon to be checked off bucket list. :) I am going to hopefully learn enough in time to eventually play. You are truly talented...thank you for sharing what you know. A Steel guitar is just ethereal in sound when used properly (such as your technique)Beautiful IMO. It gets you in the soul. Blessings and Health!
Thanks, James for your kind words!
2 years on and U am still learning daily. I feel like I WILL get there but it's a never ending journey. Thanks for all your work and care in your lessons. Trying and practicing never ends. It's a truly GREAT ride. God Bless you ALL and from everybody:
THANK YOU.!
(the band is very grateful as well)
🙏🎶🙌🙂
Hi Jim very nice and we'll explained love it 👍👏👏👏👏🏴🇬🇧🇺🇲
I wish I would have had you and You Tube when I started playing!! Really enjoy and get a lot from your videos!!
Thank you for this! You're an inspiration to me!
Very nice. Clearly presented. A great country intro....thanks
Your videos have the best tone. I gotta watch a lesson to hear a great steel guitar sound plus as instruction it's awesome!
From 999 subscribers to 1k...you deserved it..I love the way you play!its WOW!!!
Jim -- Just stumbled onto your lessons. These are some of the best on the internet with the multiple camera views. I remember listening to you and your brothers here in Billings a hundred years ago. Thanks!
Garrett Brothers Band they kicked ass!
Dude i just want to thank you for your time and effort putting theses videos up ...
Sure wished this info was around in 1975 when I got my first pedal steel guitar...
Im sure the new pickers also thank you too ...
Ron Sellers ...
ABSOLUTELY ...Keep 'em coming !!
Oh, Hi, Ron. I guess you're not Sho Bud (as in the company). I played a Sho Bud for YEARS! I had a Sho Bud Professional, double-cam, really nice steel guitar! Bought it brand new in 1975!
Hi Ted. Will do. Working on getting some more in the can Oct. and November.
Sure appreciate this instruction, I'm only 6 months in on learning so this is very helpful! I have a new Mullen which I love, excellent instrument to learn on.
Thanks Jim. That’s a beautiful intro indeed. Can’t wait to try it on my PSG when in finally arrives. ❤️
Yip took me a whole day to master 🤔 but I hadn't played or touched an instrument for 11mnths due to a work related ear injury ? Even tho I went to a psg club for a few year 5 ! this man just explain s it so good ... His instruction is great .👏👏👏👏👍🏴🇬🇧🇺🇲
Thanks for posting, love the lessons, helping me get better, Thanks Jim Bob.
Thanks, Jim, this is a great lesson for a beginner like me.
I’m new to the pedal steel guitar but I’ve played guitar on and off throughout my life. Over the past year I’ve been watching lessons but so far yours have been the most helpful. I’m tempted to call you with some basic questions but don’t wanna be a bother. I feel like I’m sitting here spinning my wheels and not making much progress. I live in NYC and pedal steel teachers are hard to find. I hope to be able to talk to you in the near future. - Thank you - Joe
You have a wonderful approach to your instruction. Thank you so much.
Your lessons are great JIm and that's one gorgeous G2. I play one myself but yours sounds so much better.
Thanks Jim Bob, for another killer lesson...I personally Need them as often as possible !
Hi Ted! Well, we are working on getting our frequency up quite a bit! Have patience and stay with us.
That Mullen sounds GREAT - Real nice intro - We need more of these kind of ballad intros. Thanks Keep em coming
Thanks Jim. Great sounding intro and nicely explained.
Thanks, Larry. I want to try and keep things moving slowly enough that I can explain as best as I can without dragging things out. Glad you like it!
Love it!!! Clean, clear and country. More!!! More!!!
Thanks! I take a lot of pride in my sound and in the simplicity necessary to achieve it. Thanks for noticing!
Hello Jim, I'm impressed by the quality of your pickin' and the no non-sense verbal instructions. I would also be interested in the equipment you use. Great lessons!
Please keep teaching us the steel!
Call Jim and tell him it's time to get back up to Montana to record some more lessons!
@@freedomseeker01 will do!
Jim, thank you sir. All your efforts are appreciated. Great into.
Looking forward to more.
And you shall have it! Thank you very much!
Another great one Jim Bob, keep em coming.
Thanks, William. I am done with being on the road and am going to dedicate my time to building these lessons. We are going to launch a Private Facebook Group and will eventually get into some kind of subscription model. Hope you come aboard.
Great lesson Jim, hello from Canada, very melodic/harmonic fill, you play spot on. I'm a guitar player learning E9 pedal steel. I hope your online lessons will continue.
Tried calling you but keep getting answering service. Are you still available at the in-screen number?
@@robertn8423 Keep trying. Number should still be current. Maybe try texting first so he knows who is calling and why.
freedomseeker01 OK thanks will try texting same on screen number
What an awesome intro I love that with the low notes ending.
Thank you for your comment. I know we're on the same page because I like the low end stopping there as well. It gives the song a chance to have a breath and not be crowding the singer.
Thanks great help jim
Glad to help.
Jim really enjoyed lesson keep them coming!
Thanks Joey. Stay tuned, we've got more coming soon! I just finished the summer tour schedule and we are going to be concentrating on getting more lessons out and quickly. I am traveling to Montana soon to pick it all back up.
what a great tone ! I really love your lesson. here's a request. I would like to a video lesson of the tune that you play at very first of this video, which sounds like a western swing thing. really love the sound in E9 running. thanks !
Hi, バーレスク事務局! This isn't really a song, it's just improvisation around a progression. It is playing off the cuff. I'm just jamming. I will definitely be doing some videos focusing on improvising once we get past the beginner material. I did cover the hammer ons in Lesson 3. This particular sample has a lot of bar movement and pedal movement. So we will get to where you want to go. We are spooling up to do some more lessons. Hang with us for awhile. So glad you are here!
Great video, thanks buddy!
Sounds awesome, I really appreciate it !
Hi, Mark. My producer's name at King West Media Group is Mark. Also with a "K"! Glad you like it, man. Stay tuned. We got a couple in the can being edited and are going to launch into another round within the next few weeks.
That's great, tell Mark he is doing a fantastic job on these clips ! Wish ya'll would do one on how you get such a great tone ! lol. Just bought a 74 Sho-Bud LDG, that don't sound near that good, and it should ? I am a beginner at pedal steel, and your help is a big help. Thanks Jim
nice approach in teaching!Thanks!!
Thanks, man. I am striving to mimic the way I was taught. A lot of patience with me from a young age.
Nice tutorial, Jim Bob!
Thanks, John. Glad you like it!
Good evenig Bob , Real good teach and current training , i wil know if the pick up is it same coil as like razor (on the old emmons ) single coil or double coil ? Thank you of your answer , so if someone can also ... ?
smooooth!
Hi Jackie. Nice to see you back. Hope you caught my comments a bout the effects, etc. Thanks for the "smooooth comment!"
Your lessons are great. Please keep doing them. You have a great sound. Can you tell us what effects you are using?
OK, so you are playing the Day Setup & doing C6.... Are there ways to setup an E9 with 5 & 4 ( My C Pedal is on LKV) to have the C6 interlaced into the neck so when you are playing E9, you can add some C6 voicings... with the use pedal 1 and/or 4 with other pulls....?
Hey Jim another great video ,would like to see more & more often !
Do you have an instructional DVD ?
Thanks Bruce
Very similar intro to Joe Diffes “is it cold in here”
Very nice
Just found this instruction here in the UK. Some of the best I've seen. My mum had
Glenn Millers autograph so have to learn ' In the Mood' Top Drawer. Thanks. STU'
Is that how the G2 sounds directly from the company, or did you upgrade the pickup after you purchased it ? Any help is appreciated .
We just took it out of the box and plugged it in. They make a great guitar!
Great video. Maybe you could put out a video on the gospel song Farthest bhbhbh
Hey Jim I'm really liking your videos. Gotta admit the harmonics kinda got me stumped. Still working on them though! 👍
Thanks, Mike. Glad you like it!
what equipment are you using?(amp,effects,etc)
JACKIE KIMBLETON I was wondering the same thing
Am I wrong or are you using a very mild & tasty chorus?
You're absolutely right. I am using a mild and very tasty Boss Super Chorus CH-1 (stereo). The rate is very low and the depth is very deep. Thanks for noticing.
I really like your concept of movement. Your videos are great. My guitar is sounding better.
That's awesome! That your guitar is sounding better is exactly what we are after! You know, that these are being done in a professional studio with lots of editing is really contributing to that, so thanks to my producer, Mark Donohue of King West Media Group. I like your comment about movement. I prefer, when given the choice, to move the bar rather than use the pedals. When I first started, I was playing a lot of piano and horn parts so I wasn't thinking along the same lines as a lot of steel players. I suppose that gives me a bit different of a technique.
