- Let’s do a Pork Butt Challenge! Which 22” Charcoal Grill can cook a Pork Butt Better? The New Weber 22” Master Touch Premium? Or The New SNS Kettle Grill?
Great video but I still dont know wich grill won 😊
Thanks for watching! The SNS
I really like the looks of the Weber Master Touch! May be my next grill purchase
Thanks for Watching! It does have a new Weber look to it!
Tom, Awesome cook. Im sure that SNS is pretty badass but I'm digging that hood latch on the weber! Not to mention that diffuser plate;)..
Thanks Tommy! They are both great grills!
Nice video comparison, and really fun to watch these two side by side. Pulled pork is one of my favorites. Great job!
Thanks! Turned out great!
Would have liked to seen them off the grill and u pulling them apart.
Thanks for Watching Tony!
Great video Tom! I have 3 Weber grills, 22 inch kettle, summit charcoal center and genesis gas but kinda like the looks of the SNS kettle. Pork butts came out looking delicious. Nicely done Tom!
Thanks Jay! I appreciate you Watching and commenting!
Hey Tom another great video. Keep them coming. +1 for the SNS
Thanks Mark! I appreciate you Watching!
Great comparison Tom! I do like that smoke hole on the SNS, for me, makes things simple! I think that “P” shape vent is a big improvement on the Weber! Cheers!
I agree Jack! Smoke hole is easier to use and less chance to ash over. Thanks again for Watching!
Which one is the best for you?
Thanks for Watching! They both are great Grills, you can’t go wrong with either one. For me I would go with the SNS, I like the shelf, probe port hole, Smoke hole and it has more stainless steel components.
Hello I am French and I have never seen the support you have which is retractable in France where does it come from otherwise I love your videos 👍
Thanks for watching! I don’t know....
Heck yeah Tom looks like both grills did an awesome job. Great looking pork my friend
They both did Mike! Thanks for Watching!
What?!? Why no comparison on the final results?
Thanks for Watching! Because they were both awesome!
Hi Tom, great cook. Why no water in the SnS? It is designed to run low and slow with water.
Thanks for watching! You are correct but it also can be used without, sometimes especially with a pork butt I don’t see any reason to use water. Good question!
Thank you Tom for your honest comparison of the 2 kettle grills. If you have any of the pork butt leftover send it to me....
Thanks for Watching Herb! Will do!
Nice! Interesting point of comparison that the diffuser plate catches drippings (Weber) vs. indirect cooking (S&S).
Thanks for Watching! Just an observation
Had the first cook tonight on my new Weber Summit charcoal. It was worth the money!
I am jealous! Thanks for Watching!
It's an awesome cooker. I've had mine for a year now and live it.
Thanks for Watching!
Jay Booth Holds temp perfectly! Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
Nice
There it is ! Nice one ! Looks like both are just fine
I agree! They both did great! Thanks for watching!
Tom, as usual, a great cook! Any differences between the butts is terms of taste or texture? If you could only have one of those grills in the land of grills, which would you choose? Inquiring minds wanna know. Thanks in advance.
Lol! I love all my grill! They both turned out awesome! Thanks again for watching!
Ace hardware you can do ship to store as well, what I do in Midwest. Can't find my Normal royal oak chef select, which is my go to
There yo go.. Thanks for the tip! I appreciate you Watching!
Tom, I use the charcoal ring from my 22" WSM with a pizza pan on top to make a slow smoker out of my Master Touch. I know Weber dose not like selling parts. As soon as my buddy Greg (The Woodshed Smoke & BBQ with Slowhand) gets back on his feet I am getting the plate from him. I know you like doing your own things but if you ever need anything Greg puts out some awesome products.
I agree! I hope Greg is doing well! Thanks for watching!
Costco has this webber for 199, think I've seen it go lower.
Thanks for watching! Still a good deal at $199.00
Great lookin sammies Tom. I love smokin pork butts compared to brisket, they're usually waaay more forgiving, cheaper and more tender. Great video. 👍👍
Thanks! Turned out great!
Be nice to see a comparison between the Weber and the Napoleon kettles. I think Weber might have some very serious competition with the Napoleon...it looks like a great grill.
Thanks for Watching Chuck! Good idea!
That was an SNS kettle not a Napoleon
Thanks for watching Jimmy!
Both look great! Which sandwich was from the Weber/SNS? Or did you mix the pork from both? I'd love to eat either.
Thanks for Watching Thomas! They were mixed... they were both great!
Fun video to watch. The Academy store near me in Texas has been out of stock on those briquettes for a few weeks. I found some 8.8 pound bags at Kroger, though. They are nice.
.
Thanks for Watching Kevin! You could try Ace Hardware thy sell B and B also
Why are weber thermometer always off temp and in the wrong place 😡
Thanks for Watching Ann! Wish I had that answer.....
Weber comes with the diffuser plate. Amazingly, the SnS doesn’t come with an SnS. Combine that with Weber’s 3 point contact leg configuration, reputation and customer service, and it’s Weber in a landslide. I’m also surprised you don’t like the steam/smoke of the drippings hitting the plate. That’s something you’ll get on virtually every pellet, Kamado etc.
How are the 3 legs better than 4? What’s the advantage gained, for less stability?
@@michaelkrok396 3 legs are more stable on uneven service. That's why we have tripods and not quadpods.
Thanks for Watching! The steam Smoke you refer to is actually fat burning it can create a burned fat type of taste at higher heat. As long as it doesn’t burn no an issue. SNS has different packages to choose from some do include the SNS.
Thanks for Watching Michael! The great debate continues...
The great 3 vs 4 leg debate continues........
Tom it sounded like you preferred the SnS drip pan set up to the Weber diffuser. Do you have a komado? I was leaning towards the SnS komado, but even a 26" with SnS, or 22" with all of the fixings and mojoe plancha grill will still keep under a grand
Thanks for Watching Paul! Yup I prefer the indirect with the SNS, I do have a Kamado, Visions and Char griller... the SNS Kamado is cool, because it’s a 22”!
Thoughts on the SNS vs the Kamado Joe Kettle Hoe?
Thanks for watching! SNS would be my choice,
Thx Tom. I have the SnS grill and it cooks great.
Yes it does! I appreciate you Watching!
You the man, Tom!
Thanks Keith! I appreciate you Watching and commenting!
Great comparison Tom. I thought Weber looked like darker colored bark. I use slow n sear cooking pork butt on Weber kettle I was happy with results. If you had fire ring in sns grill, I think it could work better on long cooks do to smoke hole, being as high as it is, the Weber sweep needs sweeping. You going to need overnight accomadations for the brisket test.
Thanks John! Yes overnight accommodations! Can’t wait! I appreciate you Watching and commenting!
I like Weber’s heat deflector better than the SnS. I’m gonna be honest, I personally always thought the SnS accessory was a gimmick. Why not just bank the coals on one side and on the non-charcoal side lay down a disposable aluminum roasting pan and fill it with water? You can buy them for about a dollar.
Now Weber’s heat deflector plate is a little intriguing because unlike the SnS (even if it weren’t a gimmick), you can use your entire cooking surface. Basically it makes the Weber cook more like a kamado. Only negative to that design is it seems like it’d be harder to add extra coals or wood.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the feedback! The Weber heat deflector plate is only for the 22” not the 18” which is what I was reviewing in the video. It would’ve cool if it was available for the 18” jumbo Joe but I doubt that there would be enough space to accommodate a charcoal basket underneath. You are correct, adding charcoal is a pain but it does perform well
Right, i always recommend that people buy the 22” kettle because that’s the size that’s most common and most supported.
And that said, I do own an 18” kettle and I have smoked ribs on it several times. But due to its size it isn’t ideal. Even if you manage to keep it at smoking temps, you have to get a bit creative to make sure the meat isn’t directly over the coals. The 26” kettle would be awesome except that it’s uncommon so it lacks the support of the 22.5” model.
In your thoughts which would you buy and why
Thanks for Watching Joe! They are both good cookers and you can’t go wrong with either choice. I did make a video in which a chose the SNS Kettle here’s that video...ua-cam.com/video/NUsM52xJVwU/v-deo.html
I bought a Weber kettle from Ace Hardware about 4 -6 months ago when I was seeing videos of the new design Weber Kettle in Europe. Since it hadn't been introduced in the US yet, the bottom bowl was of the new design but the lid was not. I asked Weber if the difuser plate was available and they said it was not. I have the charcoal ring from my 18-inch WSM and was thinking of using the ceramic pizza stone from my Kamado Joe Big Joe II, which is about 18-inches round. What are your thoughts about using that setup?? I figured you would be the one to ask..
Thanks for Watching Joe! Yup that will should. Just check and see if their is a height issue with the charcoal basket hitting the grill grate
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thanks for the quicck responce! I've never used the original charcoal ring that came with the 18" WSM, it's still in the box. I use a stainless steel charcoal ring from CAJUN BANDIT which has tabs on the bottom to hold the WSM charcoal grate. I use 2 charcoal grates that I bolt together criss-cross to allow longer burn time on the coals. If it works out, I'll use the CAJUN BANDIT stainless steel setup with my Weber. I also need to see if my 18" ceramic pizza stone will fit as the bowl narrows the lower I go. If all else fails, I can cut down the ORIGINAL charcoal ring from my WSM and see if the CERAMIC GRILL STORE has a ceramic pizza stone that will suit my needs. Anyway, thanks again for your help and I'll let you know how my idea works out.
Please do! Sounds like an awesome setup!
Just did a 8 lb pork butt with my Weber limited edition red with a fireboard 2 drive with their fan and it took 12 hrs at 225. Paid 1.99 lb on sale for the pork butt.
Nice! Thanks again for watching!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ you still need to subscribe to my channel.
Ok.. will do!
Hey Tom. Gotta ask the mod master. I have the bro n sear, now I need a good drip n griddle mod. Any cheap suggestions that are durable and cheap??? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Hmmm. Maybe a aluminum throw away pan?
Great video . Can a rotisserie be fitted to the sns ?
Thanks for Watching! Not yet,,, although I here that they will have a rotisserie in 2021.... stay tuned!
Tom Horsman thanks , would a Weber one fit it ?
Thanks for watching! No the SNSis larger in diameter than the Weber 22”
SnS is a copy of the classic Weber. Wever is king of the kettles. This is not a proper comparison as one is using basically a snake method and one is minion. The flavor will be different using the diffuser plate as opposed to more indirect smoke. Both methods are great. They are just different.
Thanks for watching Craig! I appreciate the feedback
Hey Tom! On the finished product,.........Six of one.....half dozen of the other! 😁👍
But I do have a question. Is the Weber deflector shield the end of the offset Slow n Sear set up? Just asking the question.....don't really care either way. 👍 \m/
Good question Ken! I would prefer the SNS because there’s no burning fat and you have access to the SNS Charcoal. I appreciate you Watching and commenting!
😁 I'm inclined to agree with You,.....on both points. 👍 \m/
We think alike.... any word on Slow Hand?
Greg is still in the hospital. All kind of tubes and wires connected to him. Has had all kind of tests done on his heart. He'll have another on Monday, and hopefully will be able to come home.
Ok, Thanks for the update Ken! Hope all goes well!
Why did you skip the best parts?😕…I’d say wrap that pork butt next time. It looks very dry and not very tender
Thanks for watching! Wow! It was juicy and tender...
This was really a comparison of cooking methods.
Thanks for Watching Scott!
Great Video Tom, Im looking to add the SNS to my Backyard next
Thanks for Watching! It’s a great addition!
Please get yourself a good microphone. Your voice comes through so mushy and indistinct I can not stand to listen.
Thanks for Watching !
Tom, is the SNS available in Europe?
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure, you could email them www.snsgrills.com
Tbbq.co.uk are selling them in the UK and they ship all over Europe
Yes academy has the B&B
Thanks for Watching and confirming!
Was there any difference in taste? texture or tenderness? Good job as always.
Thanks for Watching Fred! That’s why I didn’t really pick a winner. I thought they both performed well and I couldn’t really tell the difference
So which one was the winner??😊
Thanks for Watching! They were both excellent! If anything I give the edge to the SNS!
SNS for the win.
Thanks for watching!
Tom is not going to choose one over the other guys it will hurt any sponsorship. Not even in a taste test. Understandable 🙄
#twoods555 , I paid full price for both, there are no sponsorships and I did make a choice. Thanks for watching and commenting....
You talked way to fast, other than that it was great. Just slow down a bit.
Thanks for Watching Gary! Appreciate the feedback!
They both have American flags on the handle but one of them is made in China....hmmm
Great side by side cook Tom!
Thanks Rob! It was fun!
Nicely done sir!!
Thanks for watching!
I'm in Wisconsin can't find B&B anywhere
Ace Hardware carries B&B if they are sold out ask and they will order it for you
