Do you make 2 of these and sew them together before attaching to the dress or are you just hemming up the bottom edge of the cut piece before adding it to the garment? Your tutorial was so clear and concise! Thank you.
I mentioned it in the video. That there will be a little tacking with hand needle just at the point after joining at the waist to the side seam area. Then you can sew the part that will go into the side seam.
I prefer to do it after. I loosen up a few stitches at the waist and at the side seam, sandwich the flounce and sew it back. What I meant was as you get towards the side seam, the flounce would not get easily sandwiched because you are going to a sharp bend (from waist to side seam). Leave that area and focus on sandwiching the flounce at the side seam, then come back and sew the raw edge to your dress (at that sharp bend) with a hand needle. Hope this is clear.
Definitely! Like i explained towards the end of the video as you get towards your side seam, you may not be able to tuck all in. Leave that space, sew in the rest into your side seam. Then come back and use a hand needle to sew it down.
And 1 year later this is still super useful, thank you for your time.

Please explain what you meant about hand sewing the side Cascades of the peplum.
Secondly, is this flounce attached after the completion of the dress?
I prefer to do it after. I loosen up a few stitches at the waist and at the side seam, sandwich the flounce and sew it back.
