I was fortunate enough to meet Tom while he was filming in our little town in South Africa. He was living 5 houses down from us in our Estate for 3 months. This man is a workaholic. The one day he stopped and chatted when his driver was driving him home. He looked so so tired and drawn but more than once stopped and chatted even after a long day filming. How he keeps up the pace I have no idea. I was a part of his schedule for 3 months seeing his coming and going. Straight from SA he went to the UK where he is currently for HM's 70 th Jubilee and the release of Top Gun Maverick. I was always a fan of Top Gun but never really a major fan of TC until I actually met him and spent time chatting to him. Very down to earth man and so friendly.
Successful people are generally workaholics, but from their perspective they don’t think so, because they love what they do

Though I've never been a huge fan of him, I liked him somehow...not for his looks or for his charisma or his superstardom... there's something in his personality, some kind of innocence that attracts me. He's very dedicated to his profession and he loves it. Yeah, it yields him millions of dollars but I've a feeling that he doesn't do it only for money, he enjoys being an actor. Don't care about his religious standing, it's his business...other than that he seems to be a nice guy. At least Nicole Kidman said that He saved her from all kinds of harassments that usually happens to an actress in Hollywood. Tom guided her throughout her early career... it's her words,not mine....

Collateral, Vanilla Sky, The Last Samurai, Magnolia, Rain Man, Edge of Tomorrow are some underrated movies of Tom Cruise with his incredible performances.

The Last Samurai is probably my favourite Cruise movie, but it's so underrated they didn't even mention it in this video.
Omg all of these movies are great. Rain Man is one of these movies that you can watch over and over and over again and you will never get tired. Yes! He can definitely play any character.
In this modern era of film making with CGI , this Man holds on to original daredevil stunts that has always been the legacy of Hollywood film making. He is truly passionate to whatever he does.

Tom Cruise never fails to blow our minds. Most of his movies are simply peak entertainment and he always looks forward to bringing something new to the screen. His Co-stars, and his crew have huge respect for his work ethic, commitment and perfectionism. True, he has a lot of flaws; he is a human being after all, but the star power he holds is the result of his hardwork. He is a living legend for a reason, he did not come into the industry for fame or money; he came for his love for Cinema

Tom has said repeatedly even early in his career that he doesn't do this for the money. His passion, dedication, and hard work and desire to learn every aspect of the movie process speaks for itself. People who have met with him and worked with him say this and that he is also very generous with his time and a truly nice person. Honestly some people out there who hate on him are obviously seething with jealousy because he is so successful and a superstar.
Unlike some celebrities, many people have spoken highly of Cruise and his personality. There is something to Scientology. He is fearless and has an amazing work ethic.

I looked into Scientology to see what it was all about (but I never joined). You have to believe in some pretty wild stories that were written by a drug addicted sci-fi writer as truth...that's for starters. Then it gets weird. There are crazy theories about human behavior, none of which are grounded in science and you get subjected to them. Then there's all the money you have to spend to progress to the next levels. Many people say the Scientology is a money making mind control scam and I believe them. I honestly don't know why a seemingly intelligent man like Mr Cruise would follow something like Scientology but there are legions of ex-Scientology members that have horror stories to tell. Always research the product before you commit to a purchase.

If we just look aside from religious stuff, he is an amazing actor. I watched the second top gun movie today and it was amazing Tom cruise did an amazing job. So he has his strange stuff but he seems like a pretty humble guy (I never met him and I don’t really want to judge a book by his cover). He takes his work very serious like this man does his own stunts.

Tom really loves the cinema and that can be seen from all of his films, whether it be learning sleight of hand for MI1, becoming a champion level pool player for the color of money, flying helicopters and fighter jets ,or doing his own stunts in every movie, Tom just never cuts any corner by using stunt double or CGI. One of the last remaining actors who give us the real cinematic experience and for this reason he will always be my favorite actor. And I have nothing against CGI either I love movies like Avatar and Dune that showed us things we never saw before, but those theme parks CGI movies where actors dress-up like cartoons and still end up making billions really surprise me. I hope more people start appreciating what the real film making is about.

Tom Cruise. We have to give him credit for having so much longevity in the film business. Still working today....though is is "only" about to turn 60. Not that "old" (vs Stallone, Harrison Ford...etc.). A guy that keeps putting out mostly hit films. Even if many are "cookie cutter franchise films". They still make enough money. And he manages to put out Top Gun: Maverick over 30 years later....no easy feat...and supposedly did we and is better than the first one. Really?? I havent seen the sequel....filled with "no-name actors" except for Jennifer Connelly (not really an A-list actress but a NAME actress) VS the original TG film with an all-star cast. and a soundtrack done when there were tons of working pop and rock stars.
Crusie also happens to live that "adrenaline junkie lifestyle".....licenced to fly commecial planes, helicopters, motorcycles, cars, scuba, skydiving....etc. :) Again no easy feat. When most actors would be faking flying jets infilms an dusing stuntmen if they didnt know how to ride motorcycles or scuba dive...etc. Nothing wrong with that. Comon.
And Crusie lives to make more films. though he is cautious in the stunts he will do (vs Jackie Chan...."cat with 9 lives")...I mean Tom Cruise....while he has all these licences and has the "movie star good looks" isnt a big or tall guy at 5'7....almost "short" by Hollywood "leading men standards"....but he continues to play "hero" roles....in action films...
Would love to see Crusie do dramatic roles again e.g. Few Good Men. Forth Of July....Risky Business..

Before Tom Cruise wanted to be an actor, he wanted to be a pastor. I think that's one of the reasons why scientology appealed to him, he got to speak about religion and people without actually doing the requirements of a pastor, all he had to do was donate money. But I heard he quit scientology cause they tried to make his daughter do it too. So he got offended and left. After he left so did a lot of other actors. That's why you don't hear about scientology that much anymore, because there isn't any celebrities doing it anymore. Scientology just isn't cool anymore, cause people were joiining purely to mingle with celebrities. So they didn't want to bother with it.

Some years ago I was caretaking a mansion down the road from TC's rental, the film crew was in town for 3 months, I don't remember what movie it was. One time he was jogging down the road and slowed down to, I thought, pet my 2 month old puppy I was taking for a walk. To my surprise he kicked my puppy, and as he ran off, also told me my girlfriend was fat, and ugly. JOKING: not many people of any ilk or profession have so many raves with so few disses, as the comments below attest.

I don’t understand the selective hate against Tom cruise for being a Scientologist. By the same token, other big celebs and public figures should be deserving of hate for their religious beliefs. Most major religions have way more worse history and vilest by-products.
