I love how he reminds us of Levi’s emotional side. It gets overlooked often. It’s not Levi’s badass scenes that made me like him, it was his compassion and empathy for his soldiers.
At first i am amazed about his strenght, like omg he is so strong, but the more i did into his character the more i like him, his emosional feeling that not even showd spesifically but we can understand him from that
same! when I first saw him as the humanity strongest soldier in s1, I thought he was cool and all but that was merely it. to me, back then , he was just a strong character. It wasn't until the show showcased his emphatical and emotional side that made me love him. now he's my most favourite character in AOT.
I already knew how amazing he is in battle cuz of all the fans but when I watched AOT for the first time, it was his empathy that struck me. I'm with you on that.
As a person who read both the manga and watched the anime, I can say that Kamiya-san did succeed at humanizing Levi. His voice acting and his perspective on Levi are spot on. Honestly, mostly the fandom thinks of him as the perfect human being, which he is definitely not. He is a human too, and just because he is humanity’s strongest doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his humanistic (?) moments.
And this human side, with the trauma, and the guilt, and the doubts, and the rage, and the soft side too - that is what makes Levi absolutely perfect as a character. ❤
I guess thats how it worked right. Hahahah. Because same thing happen to Gojou Satoru. Nakamura Yuichi also roast him a lot for being strongest sorcerer 🤣
When did he roast Levi? Kamiya seems to be one of the few to truly understand Levi, his real self, his inner conflicts, his desires, his fears, his relationship with Erwin, everything. He has been consistently understanding Levi's true self through the years until recently, since he still proves he understands Levi like few do.
Really. The tremendous level of animation plus Sawano's music plus Kamiya-san's performance in those action scenes brought about one of the best moments in anime history.
kamiya-san is really good at his job, no wonder he is one of the best va out there. looking at the range of his roles, he's so versatile and talented. whoever the person in charge of casting him for levi nailed it bc tbh i don't know any better seiyuu to play the role✨
Also wondering how behind the scenes for the seiyuu, thank you for the translation! Awww HiroC is truly an inspiring seiyuu. He doesn't even want to lose againsts the animators, so he's giving it all in the recording. Sasuga, he's a popular seiyuu and he deserves it!
