I really enjoyed this video. Just watching the way it works. No endless talk. 👍😀
Awesome, thank you! 👍🙂
Love the way you lifted the hex stones..genius...and only the best people have cats..ha ha ..thank you man ...great build.
Complimenti, davvero molto bravo!
I like the design, but the construction methods pose many long-term issues. A ledger board attached to the house would have made the build easier, and stronger (less prone to side loads). The post footers need to be twice their size and belled at the bottom to prevent uplift. The post footer brackets appear to only be connected with one lag screw per side; if so, this creates a dangerous pivot moment. Additionally, the brackets should only be 1 to 2 inches (25.5 - 51mm) off the ground. At their current height, shearing is a significant risk. The birds mouths for the upper stringers are way too long and missing the ties. Even if rafter ties are not required by your municipality, they should be installed to provide a solid, safe connection. Lastly, the roof needs to be flashed against the house to prevent water from rotting the top post, and the stove/heat pipe roof penetration needs to be sealed. There are several high-heat options, a hi-temp silicone boot being the easiest and least expensive overall. This post is being made to protect other viewers planning to copy this build, not to be negative about Robert's work/video.

Çok hızlı çekim oluyor biraz yavaş olsa ıyi olur teşekürler
Very nice! I like how you connected to the house without actually attaching to the structure saving demolition and engineering time! Would have traded the 2x2's for 2x4's, how did you not fall through?

Congratulations for your construction. I really liked the tricks you used to lift the heavy pieces of wood. Good Morning from Greece.
Thanks Greece 👍

Yes, thank you Chandra 👍🙂❤
You are one innovative SOB
Tolle Leistung, vorbildliche Arbeit. 👍
Vielen Dank 🙂👍
Top Job, Well done, I loved the use of the 'Creeping Props' to stand the heavy frames to a vertical position. Using the chain saw to remove the Birdsmouth excess was very clever. All round a fantastic job, carried out safely, by one man. Cheers from Michael. Australia.
Thank you very much! 🙂👍
O que
Buenas tardes Mi Hermano.
Lo felicito mi hermano. Le quedó muy bonito.eficiente y sobre todo me gustó la técnica para construir este techo solo sin ayudantes.
Desde colombia Lo felicita . ingeniero electricista Octavio Tobon.
Muchas gracias Octavio 👍🙂
Exactly what i want for my 20m side wall with a neihbour
👍🙂
Enjoyed watching your work. 👍

Awesome video
Looks great
Thanks for the visit
Muhteşem
good job
Thank you! Cheers!
How has it held up after 1 year? I see you used long screws into the endgrain of the posts and beam, has it twisted there? Or the screws were strong enough?
Good job😮
Thanks for the visit
Perfekt😍
great job , but how come you didn't nail in the roof tiles to the batons, if you get some high winds then some of your tiles will go flying, I have never seen someone use an angle grinder as a planer before either but it seemed to work a treat
We don't have such strong winds. Thanks for the visit
gread job
Wow 😮
👍🙂
Nice
Yup I get it! I have no freinds niether but its less drama so I get it.
Perfect 👍🙂
Looks like its floating, isn't dangerous? Isn't better to use concrete blocks to sit the posts down ?
You own a festool saw but no chisel???nice
Yes, good chisels are more expensive than festool 😬
I really want to add a couple of feet of patio to my front porch, but I'm kind of skeptical about starting a project, not even knowing where to start 🤔
Start from the beginning, that would be a good choice
Hey Robert hi ,first time watching your videos. Nice job and looks great. I have a question on the tiles you used I've been trying to find something like those are they light concrete or composite type material? Could you leave a link for them thanks. Cesar
They are quite heavy concrete www.sbs-trgovina.si/izdelek/betonska-kritina-bramac-klasik-novo-rubin/
one m2 costs around €5
You like Bruce Lee, like water lol!
Haha 👍🙂
Nice job Robert!👍🇨🇦
How. Can I keep the program to walkch time and time again on this chanel
1 man army
👍🙂
Very nice!
Thanks for the visit
Hey Robert I like the video, good job. I wanted to ask you, how did you end up closing that space with the vent pipe on the roof? I noticed you used a grinder but didnt see you seal up that space? Also in the video you dont show how you attached the ledger board to the stucco wall. Lastly, the way the roof tiles are added wont rain get behind them and drip?
Your answers are appreciated. Keep up the good work.
Fantástico, igual no me comprende, las vigas y columnas que van junto a la vivienda las sujetaste a la pared??, gracias y saludos de Jose desde spain
si, fijado con tornillos de 28 cm de largo
Great job! How much time did it take to build it?
one week
Wow, you're not only talented, you have quite a bit of patience doing this all by yourself. What is the material of the tiles like? Is it like our Arizona tiles?
These are made of concrete, thank you 🙂
It looks amazing, one quick questions what if it rains. I live in California it normally doesn’t rain a lot but once it lasts for days, my biggest concern is the rain proofability
It is not a problem if the wood gets wet several times a year and then dries quickly. There will be no damage to the wood. However, it is not good if the wood is constantly exposed to moisture, then it will start to rot. Do not worry wood under the roof will last for many years 🙂
Good job but that roof slope is not good for tiles.
I like it. I just want to ask around the metal vent. Should there be something to close in that gap so rain won’t come through?
Another guy will come for this job with a special tools
it is a pity chain mortiser's cost so much
I’m curious how the roof against house is water sealed. Seemed to skip over that detail.
