Painting Normandy and making 14 paintings in 2.5, isn't it a good Direct Watercolor training?! 😁 I am super happy to share with you the watercolor paintings / urban sketches / plein air paintings I did during my artist week end in Normandy, France!

Wonderful!! Lovely places you went to paint, all are beautiful, but those RED RED POPPIES are just fabulous. You really lost your self in that one, and I mean that in the best possible way. Yes, you are totally right, Elizabeth!! I guess painting more can sometimes make us experience this kind of break through. That's why the Direct Watercolor Challenge is going to be so interesting to do and to follow and will lead each of us to something new! 😃 Indeed, I started to be more confident after a full day of painting and, after 2 days, I went wild!!!! 😝 😁

So many beautiful paintings in your group. in one of your paintings it looked like you showed a short depth of field with the 1st building in focus and the rest softer...or maybe my eyes were out of focus! ;) your paintings were lovely. Following the White Rabbit Jay Lee Watercolor Painting, was the first subscriber, that I actually went out and purchased some cheap watercolor paints (like for a child probably in the clearance section at a store and some cheap paper), and try a few things from his videos that he teaches. His son was an infant when I started watching his channel and he would strap him to his chest and paint. 🎨 😊 He does step by step art tutorials and shows how to do “simple” art projects for kids with around the house things as well. He has different levels of tutorials too, so I know that I need the beginner and if I feel really brave try an intermediate one. I have then realized that it matters on the paint and paper quality since then. Lol But it’s okay because I was literally just wanting to try something completely creative and beautiful and out of my element. It really made me want to put the money to get decent materials. It wasn’t until finding your channel and another’s (who will be posting more tutorials of videos of portraits after her home move), which is Penny’s Painting for Pleasure (I believe that’s the channel name I will come back and edit if I’m mistaken). Her and your art styles I absolutely gravitate towards naturally. I especially like the bleed and splatter and color schemes, you both texturize your paintings with imagination and wonder.
Thus, finally, propelling me forward to wanting to leap into making more of an effort to let my own expressions flow from self. The seed was planted; and I became so excited, that I chose to invest in getting quality paper, paints, and brushes. It’s supposed to come by the end of next month, as I live in the states.
I cannot wait to see that video!! I can’t tell you how many people I’ve spoken to that have that same fear when it comes to watercolor specifically. I will be showing that video to all of them when you post it.
I am very green to the world of social media. Because of this, I really, really appreciate and am humbled at the time you took to not only ❤️ my comment, but also reply. ☺️🙏🏻🙏🏻 I know you are extremely busy, and have a ton of amazing platforms and wonderful subscribers and people that I am sure it can be a bit daunting and overwhelming to reply to everyone. For someone like me, who has a debilitating amount of anxiety, your energy of life, color, joy, and art truly feels and feeds my soul. Life is just that bit more manageable with the correct perspective, and you have it in spades. Thank you for reminding me to laugh, love, create, have humor, and be grateful for all things. Your personality bleeds those simple pure life skills, and after watching a video you have done with your energy and positivity I have a skip in my step, and an exuberance to create and play and be. Eirenmist Hi! Thanks for your compliments and suggestions! 😊 I am so sorry for the erratic shots, I am an apprentice filmmaker and there is a lot to learn!!! But each time when editing, I am wondering why my shots go all over the place like that. 😅 I will try to get better, I promise!!
Would you suggest that I make more static shots, or slower pans?? Feel free to share if you have some more precise advice for me. 😌😊😉
My brother, who is a professional photographer and videographer, has always cautioned me to move a little more slowly in my pans when I move the camera or phone from place to place in the scene, and to make sure I keep it on a somewhat even plane making sure not to bob or jerk up and down. He says that the few seconds it takes to move more slowly and evenly doesn't add that much more time to the project, considering how much more pleasant it makes the experience for the viewer. It allows them to savor the scene or the art. Where you took us today was so gorgeous, and as always your art is inspirational! By the way, I want to add that I think your editing and the way you put the video together is very good indeed! It has its own artistry. Thank you for taking my comment in the spirit of helpfulness in which it was intended. 😊
