Btw, I forgot to mention it but there is an old video when I walk in the forest and paint gorgeous red amanitas on the spot. I think it’s my first vlog! 😝 Here it is ua-cam.com/video/l5ohQgSdN_w/v-deo.html. 🍄🌿🍂🐞❤️ If you like fall, forest and mushrooms, you will definitely love it! 😀
Yes I watched it a few weeks ago! There is something almost magical about painting mushrooms in the woods and I would love to see more videos of that...Anyway... Thanks for posting!
yes, that was an amazing painting!!! I watched last year. Very nice!!! You definitely should do more videos, we watching you paint!! These are the best. Soooo relaxing and I did learn from you, you are so different. Love watching your videos!!!
Wow....what serendipity! I have been looking for that amanita muscaria video for 2 days...I also watched it a few weeks ago, then ir disappeared...Hahaha, I must be hallucinating?
Please do more and moreeeeeee of these 10 minutes quick sketching videos, they will be a great source of inspiration & learning from your techniques as we watch every brush stroke :*
I love the way you approach a painting, and you are always so much fun to watch! Keep sharing the great videos, and giving us that great personality- just charming! Thank you.
Anne Laure, I know that you're not really making videos here so much any more, but I just want to tell you how much I love watching them! You're style of painting and talking about your process is fun, full of joy, and helpful as well. Love love love it!
Another arresting painting. I love the background, the forest floor, the washes, the branches, the splatter. So much texture and earthy colours. So delicious. I'm a fan!!
I again, love how you share your thought process, looking at the photo before starting and identifying the aspects that you want to capture. Thank you so much for sharing :) The painting is beautiful and dynamic
Kathryn Thanks a lot! I was hoping you wouldn’t think it’s just boring useless rambling!! 😅😜😃 Thanks for your kind compliments, I am glad you liked the painting and the video. 😊
Beautiful painting! I always get so nervous when I see those tall, thin water bottles on your table, I feel like if it was me I'd have dropped them all over the painting within the first minute!!!
sincostanian Haha lol, no I dropped my glass of water the other day (on my sketchbook 😬😅) but I think I almost never dropped these. 😌😁 I don’t want you to get nervous! lol I thought you would have been more nervous with the 10 mn timer. 😉 Thanks for your compliments about the painting! 😊
Wow that is so beautiful. I think when I paint I try and be too perfect but I love how loose and fun this was. I will definitely try this technique and set a timer. Thank you so much for the inspiration 💗 xxx
I love you’re loose style. I do like this quick type of painting and hope to see more. But I am definitely going to try this. Thank you for the demo. Hope you are well since (you haven’t posted for a month). Take good care of yourself.
Great colour choices- shows your talent (and plenty of study) that you can achieve so much harmony with so little time! The green/blue was a shock, but works so well. Brava!
I love your mushroom😍🍄! I also really like the loose flowers you painted, I'm hoping to try both of them sometime soon. Thank you and have a beautiful day 🌞
Universe seriously need your serotonin levels :D The excitement you have is just unmatched! Love the painting - dry brushing you did really left the feeling of dry leaves, even before the swordliner marks. It's so challenging to paint without layers, as you have no time to wait for it to dry - completely shifts your thinking. Will try this approach for sure ^_^ Also, everyone that lives close to nature, forests, mushrooms and fields is lucky in my book. Industrial city is beautiful to sketch and paint, but nothing matches painting in the forest.
Lol Ana, Thank you! 😁 In fact, I have a dirty secret to share 😅 I am not like that all the time (unfortunately...). 😳😞 My enthusiasm and passion for creativity keeps my pumps and burns my energy and then, at some point, well, I crash. 😬😅😑 But I am still happy to be able to have this energy level sometimes. 😊 Thanks a lot for your feedback on my painting and my video, it’s really interesting to read! I like to paint without layering because I think the first layer is always the best, the most fresh, the most beautiful. When painting without layering, you keep this freshness and loose beauty. But, anyway, in the forest, it’s so humid that, even taking your time, your washes doesn’t really dry on you so you still have to work the same way! 😅😉 You are so lucky to live near so much nature. I loooove forest. ❤️🍄🌿🐞🍂 Btw, I could have mentioned it in here, there is an old video where I painted amanitas straight in the forest. I don’t know if you watched it. I am going to share the link in a pinned comment. 😊
Well, that only proves that you are a human like the rest of us, so you're good. As long as the crashing isn't too harsh :( As for layering - I really struggle with the first layer conveying everything I want, so I find myself repainting the same subject at least three times and the third one almost always turns out just right. Seeing other artist's thought process is really interesting - my brain just doesn't work that way yet. Hopefully I'll improve. And I don't live anywhere near the forest, that's why I envy everyone who does :D Every year I travel to mountains and just try to get the experience that lasts for the full year. Including taking reference pictures. I'll check the video for sure. Everything forest-related is my jam :D
I hope you will gradually find your way to work in a more efficient way without laying. Yeah, that’s probably a shift for the brain. Probably the core of my technique is this, almost only one layer, and straight with the brush without pencil guidelines. Hopefully my online course could be a help, if I manage to find the time to work on it besides the YT videos! 😅
Looking forward to that course! Even if I love ink outlines, practicing different techniques is key for development and would love to try your approach ^_^
Thank you Ana! 😊 I am also convinced that trying a lot of different things enrich our approach a lot and make us progress quicker. As for me, making also photography, for example, helped me a lot for composition, sense or value, of colors, for everything! And painting without lines will do some good to your ink and washes sketches, I am sure about it. 😌 😃 So, are your going to try this paint with me, then ?! 😝 (as the course is far to be ready 😁)
I loved this video and your painting. If I could paint along with you in any way I would be so happy. For now my pigments are packed away until some health issues are improved. I love your sense of joy and your look forward to autumn colors. Thanks for sharing.
Oh I loved this!!! 😃💗I cannot wait to go home and do this again with you to try myself! I really enjoy the fact it is real time. Super excited to try this today!! Yay!!! Thank you so much for making a paint with you painting! Paint paint paint!! 🎨 🤗😍🙌🏻
This was really fun and inspiring to watch! You have a beautiful painting style! Seeing the elements your brush strokes add make me want to do a lot more experimenting with my brushes. A challenge I definitely need to try!
Great 10 minute exercise! I too love mushrooms and have drawn and painted quite a few lately. This was a very cool video Anne-Laure and I have to get me one of the sword liner brushes. Take care!
Jason, Thanks a lot! I am happy you are a mushroom painter too! 😃🍄❤️👍 I forgot to mention that I also painted amanitas in the forest in an old video. I put the link in a pinned comment, if you want to watch it. 😊 I am sure you will have a lot of fun with the swordliner! 😝
I really loved this video! I love your style of painting so much so it is so good to see how you approach a subject and then how you translate it so beautifully onto paper! Thank You for showing us! I so enjoy watching you paint! 🎨 😍 😊😊
Loved the mushroom painting. Also enjoyed the 10min limit. I think will help with loosening up my strokes etc a bit. My painting is quite tight but would like to loosen up a bit especially in a vignette style. Thanks for the video.
I really like the way to use such almost random brushstrokes for most of the vegetation - something I wouldn't have thought of. I tend to be obsessively devoted to replicating a subject with exact colors and details. Maybe I should loosen up, huh ??!!
Bonjour, mettre une contrainte de temps c'est sympa effectivement cela permet une dynamique une spontanéité bien agréable. Les différents bruns sont très beaux. Bonne journée !
I picked up some seaweed and a very dead stinking starfish from the harbour. I had a cup of tea, then i took the mug into the kitchen. I got back to my chair and NO STARFISH!!! My dog was licking his lips. "I was going to paint that you greedy smelly beast," i yelled. Doh!!
This is one of my favourite demos (and I hope you do more), but I was wondering , just before the 4:13 mark on your video, you add in another colour, what is that colour (it's a green of sorts I believe)?
i love Mushrooms 🍀🍄 , somethimes, if you come to as, we go together 🍄🍄🍄👧👧💚💚🌻😇😇-Your Fish Necklace is beautiful. You are shinning over the Rainbow 😁😁😁🐝🧐👍👌
This was very interesting and I love how the mushroom turned out. I am from Texas and you do not eat the "mushrooms" we see. I think they can kill you :)
Hi! Thanks a lot for your kind comments about my videos!! 😁 I don't know anything about Texas mushrooms but that's always the safer not to eat them indeed. I pick only a few mushrooms I know and this one is the best mushroom either the Cèpe de Bordeaux. I can recognize it really well so don't worry for me. 🤣 😘
Very well done with the painting and it was fun to watch it materialize on the paper. I do however think you painted the mushroom a tad too straight and too symmetrical, almost like a medical illustration. It could have been a little more imperfect in its stance and shape, like the mushroom in the photo itself, which has a slight tilt to the right and the stem is not perfect in shape. Imperfections make things more interesting and dynamic. It is, of course, a subjective opinion. I do like the color scheme and brush marks you made.

I am so happy I found your videos!
Love this painting! Amazing how free and fresh this painting is -- if you had more time, you might have lost this special quality. I am so inspired!
I think you are the trippiest watercolor artist on UA-cam, just fantastic! Also very helpful to me, a beginner. Merci :)
I am very excited about this series!
