When you think about it, radiation is quite Lovecraftian. While it can be explained using science, It still has those similiar terrifying properties, which Lovecraft gave to some of the entities, which appear in his works. It's invisible, it is practically everywhere, and cause you immeasurable pain and fear when you get in contact with too big doses of it. You get deformed, skinned, burned, literally every pain a human can experience. Very interesting, and also scary if you ask me
You're woken up in the middle of a night by a bang, and see a strange unearthly glow on the horizon. Something has happened and gone very wrong, but nobody knows exactly what--or if they do, they won't tell you. An unseen, unstoppable force begins to creep through your village, corrupting and killing everything and everyone it touches. You are forced to flee, leaving your community frozen in time, irreversibly corrupted and untouchable. And at the centre of it, the thing that escaped is still there. Sealed away, but still dangerous. Waiting.
The Geiger counter also helps create that creepy aspect of radiation. Giving a sound and some sense to where the invisible lethal atoms are, yet not reassuring you that an area is safe further adds to the horror of radiation. Even with protective equipment if you're exposed long enough it can still be very lethal.

In the beginning song, you start to hear this high-pitched, resonant hum. It slowly approaches, hangs there for a while, then disappears. The thing that comes to mind is some imaginary film scene involving Chernobyl explorer. He is walking around the corridors when he turns a corner and sees a strange-looking pile of material. It looks like a lump of spilled cement filled with rubble. The resonant humming starts, only audible to the viewer. He approaches it and stands next to it. The humming gets much louder. It looks grey-ish, but has lots of different shades of black or white inside it. He reaches his hand out, it's warm to the touch. He grabs his knife and tries to take a sample of it, but finds that it cannot even be scratched. He stands back and steadies his camera to focus onto it. The humming gets a bit quieter. When he looks into the viewfinder, he sees white snow flickering across the camera, like TV static. He takes one picture, then promptly leaves to the next room. The humming gets much quieter and eventually disappears.
When something catastrophic happens humanity races in to save it but there are some heroes that go on a suicide mission to save others and the world Some heroes don't wear capes all they need is faith to guide them into the right path.
It would be safe to say that this is one of the best ambience tracks In the world. This is a reference to when Boris commented on a roof floor designated Masha in HBO's Chernobyl that probably everyone in this comment section knows about.

Particle effect are giving me Death Stranding vibes. which also deals somewhat with a world that has been destroyed by nuclear level explosions.
awesome, i really like the effect of the ashes
i was listening to this while reading lord of the flies and holy crap its creeped me out considering it was 11 PM at night
Its a fabulous arrangement placed together.
Golly, you're the best!
No, but seriously no other channel on yt collects such quality ambience into its videos... Sub
This is our time to shine.
When something catastrophic happens humanity races in to save it but there are some heroes that go on a suicide mission to save others and the world
Some heroes don't wear capes all they need is faith to guide them into the right path.
It would be safe to say that this is one of the best ambience tracks In the world.
This is a reference to when Boris commented on a roof floor designated Masha in HBO's Chernobyl that probably everyone in this comment section knows about.
IIRC, two of those men (including Boris if I'm not mistaken) are still alive to this day

Cryo Chamber: *releases Chernobyl themed compilation*
Me, who worked on the Chernobyl dark ambient EP to release with the same album art: *Surprised Pikachu meme*
Good mix tho
Where is this dark ambient Chernobyl EP? Seriously, I'm interested.
@@karamiddleton2920 It's not as good as anything from Cryo Chamber. Tbh I kinda want to delete my work from the Internet but while it's still there you can listen to it: ua-cam.com/video/TBHGEO3ltzk/v-deo.html
On bandcamp you can download it for free if you like it: congregation-of-ashes.bandcamp.com/album/concrete-sarcophagus
I forgot to mention that I changed album art so it's not the same photo.
@@congregationofashes Thanks, I subscribed!
@@karamiddleton2920 Thank you very much
@@congregationofashes I really hope you don't delete your work from the internet! You deserve more subscribers, seriously!
It's been a year since I listen to this compilation when I go to sleep. And Wordclock - When Indecision Strikes is when I fall into oblivion. It's so beautiful and mesmerizing.
We all pray the monolith .... Ooohh monolith lead us through all of this mess ...
It makes a great sense, interrrupting such a FANTASTIC mix with ads for flatulence, at least here in Italy :-( .......
Updated it without midroll ads, youtube keeps enabling them on our older videos...
It twists the insides of us all... The doers, they think they can escape it... They change to metal, digitize their minds... But in the end... All lays to waste.... It's just ash... Thick metallic ash and pools of liquid metal and bones.......
Liquidators. Very sorry for them. It was a good city, but what happened, happened.

7:58 - Wonderfully evocative - thank you!
At the last track, I studied some of the morse code and it seems when comparing both eng and rus codes it vaguely reads as a repeat of Geronimo.
Легендарная подборка, спасибо Вам за офигенный проект!

I'm worried I'm going to get cancer just listening to this. It even sounds radioactive.
Every time I listen to this soundtrack, it reminds me of the game Darkwood. Awesome game and awesome soundtrack!!!
