P.S. I still remember a time when MTV & VH1 WERE music television....it was a WONDERFUL TIME!! It wasn't about drunken, half-naked beach parties and "reality shows"....they showcased MUSIC and the ARTISTS. I SO MISS THAT and wish that it would COME BACK as a VINTAGE channel!! :)
MTV was only a few years old when I first got Cable TV. It was amazing. I loved it. Just music, music, and more music. I don't know why they ever changed but I haven't watched it in decades now.
I always wanted to open a bar with lots of large screens and play MTV, and other music video sources. In Canada here we had Much Music , same idea, but modelled on the MTV idea
They were an amazing talented duo! I was blessed to catch them live open for Sting. And then they closed the show as a trio with Sting!! Will never forget that wonderful experience!❤😂🎉
Annie looks and sounds so good in this video. What a gorgeous voice. And thanks to Michael for all his great work with the Eurythmics and other projects. Cheers....
Beautiful version of a fantastic song! And a nod to the amazing talent of Annie and Dave that this was done in one take! Wow! Thank you Michael, Amber and Jay!!! You made my day!! ❤❤❤❤❤
WHOA!!! HOW COOL!!! THANKS, Amber & Jay - and, Michael: THANK YOU, TOO, for this one!! Have LOVED Annie & Dave since very early-on...and, this is a STUNNING VERSION!!! JUST SO LOVELY!!! HUGS, YA'LL!!
So glad you have been introduced to the Storytellers show. It produced some awesome performances. My personal favorite was Meatloaf. He enjoyed it so much that he turned it into a tour, which I was able to attend. So much fun!
I highly recommend you listen to Lamont Cranston Band, Upper Mississippi Shakedown. You two will love this song. It makes you want to get up and move or dance. Just so much fun.
I first heard them back in the early '80s, been in love with the Eurythmics ever since. Age and health issues have moved me to start downsizing the things I've accumulated over the years. So much easier to give it all away now than to try and itemize it in a will, right? My oldest daughter came for a visit this last weekend and went home with a few tubs of old man treasure. Among it was all of my Eurythmics CDs. What a lucky kid!
Storytellers versions are so good. It allowed fans to get to know how & why the song was made, what inspired it etc. When you can hear a band play live without all of the instrumentation and other technology behind it you know just how good a band or artist is. Annie and Dave did an excellent job with this. Annie's voice is just so beautiful.
The concert I saw at Red Rocks - I think it was 1985, was one of the best. They did this song and it was brilliant (the long dance version). They were all dressed in black.
Sensational. This episode of Storytellers was increadible and they did an amazing job... you should also check out their little payed song from this same episode 'Power to the Meek'. I had the good fortune to attend several of their live performances and Annie's voice combined with Dave's musical prowess just filled the stadiums. Amazing.
Dave Stewart was in another band called Super Heavy. Also in the band was Sir Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, AR Rahman and Damian Marley. Maybe check out their song "Miracle Worker" sometime.
Guys please throw a few more questions to your guest. I know this is a reaction and you might want it short but it would feel more natural if you interacted a bit more with the creators. If you do, in the end we will all learn a lot more. Love your channel! Keep it up!
I think it would help if they watch some of Adam's interviews on the Professor of Rock channel. Jay & Amber are great responding to the music itself, but Adam is uniquely talented in his ability to get amazing stories from his guests with his interview technique. I feel certain they could adapt something they find th
Annie Lennox does have a lovely voice and Dave is very good writing and playing the instruments. However I have to admit I prefer the studio version. I used to play it as a nightclub dj when it came out and it was very popular song. It worked well with some Howard Jones , Human League, and duran Duran.
The Original is much better!!! Playing with a full symphony would be epic!!! Instead of unplugged!! A great song stands the test of time!!! What Era is not dated?? Electronica and New Wave brought alot of fantastic futuristic sounds and music. Unfortunately many people disrespect 80s music. This Era was about dancing and going to a club!! Bands made singles and remixes for clubs and DJs. Clubs were so big at this time it reinvented the music industry!!! I grew up on this music and dancing at many Alternative dance clubs. I hope you and your Family have a great day!! From a Old Canadian Audio nut and Dance Club Man!! Keep that outdated 80s music coming!!!
I remember watching this when the show aired. She was off key quite a bit towards the end of the song. I've seen her on television numerous times throughout the years and she goes off key a lot. I prefer the original version.
All their lives they've been each other's best relationship, but instead of marrying each other, they both married a bunch of come and go people. C'mon, figure it out and get it right next life.

I’d like that too, it seems like they killed all the good stuff MTV should change the name of the channel 🤷🏻♀️
@jude_196 I totally agree

I completely agree. It’s total garbage now
Wow love this version! What great music we had in the 80's 🎶🎤💜. haha probably getting old, longing back
Thx for reacting!
Annie and Dave were magical together. You all are the best, Jay and Amber. Special thanks to Michael for bringing this.
They were an amazing talented duo! I was blessed to catch them live open for Sting. And then they closed the show as a trio with Sting!! Will never forget that wonderful experience!❤😂🎉
Annie is one of my fav female artists, she’s so versatile.
I was fortunate to hear Annie sing this live, accompanying herself on piano. Nothing else needed on that stage!
Annie Lennox is a powerhouse even today!!!
Annie & Dave are so brilliant ! I miss them together as "Eurythmics" 🥰
Annie looks and sounds so good in this video. What a gorgeous voice. And thanks to Michael for all his great work with the Eurythmics and other projects. Cheers....
Love, love this song! In my top 10 80s songs. Raw, authentic, sensual. Annie Lennox is one of the best vocalists of all time.
So glad Michael Simon came on to share and that Michael appreciates you take on the song.
Check out Annie singing "Cold"!!! It will give you chills.
Perfect pitch, so much emotion. Amazing recording.
A great duo you should do for Female Friday is Annie Lennox, and Aretha Franklin "Sisters are doing it for themselves."
Beautiful version of a fantastic song! And a nod to the amazing talent of Annie and Dave that this was done in one take! Wow! Thank you Michael, Amber and Jay!!! You made my day!! ❤❤❤❤❤
When MTV first came out in 1981, I thought it would last forever it was the best compilation of music ever!
WHOA!!! HOW COOL!!! THANKS, Amber & Jay - and, Michael: THANK YOU, TOO, for this one!! Have LOVED Annie & Dave since very early-on...and, this is a STUNNING VERSION!!! JUST SO LOVELY!!! HUGS, YA'LL!!
Oh! This was during their PEACE TOUR which was Phenomenal!
I loved Story Tellers. Some of VH1's best shows.
Annies pavement cracks is another banger such an amazing voice nice format you guys are forming
I saw Annie and David of the Eurythmics in 89.Just phenomenonal.
Can’t wait to hear this new version, It’s so beautiful ❣️I see it’s touching your soul Amber.
Please can we have more Annie, the last solo one was a year ago! Pleeeeeeease; no more I love you’s, walking on broken glass, little bird! 🙏
Thank you for this great reaction and interview, and thanks to Michael for being here! ✌💙✌

Never heard/saw this version before. Thanks RSR! Keep 'em comin'!!!!
Love this , Love this , Love this Version ! Thank you !
Jay & Amber, You'll love their "Would I Lie To You"(banger!), and “Walking on Broken Glass”(from Annie's solo career)!!!
Would I Lie to You.
@@Beejay950 thank you
Love these little interview reactions! You are amazing!
What happens when real musicians pare down a song, no auto tune, no massive production, just talent
I first heard them back in the early '80s, been in love with the Eurythmics ever since. Age and health issues have moved me to start downsizing the things I've accumulated over the years. Takes me straight back to the 80s brilliant but the greatest unplugged concert was George Michael where every song he sung was perfect.
No one makes music like this these days, I thank god we were there when these artists were just emerging and for us to journey with them in our time!
This was such a beautifully haunting rendition of an already fantastic song... wow.

I like this version, but the original with the strings is still my favorite version.
Annies voice is amazing.
There was a Story Tellers with Willie Nelson AND Johnny Cash together.
Wow you have gone next level ,love it .
Dave Stewart was in another band called Super Heavy. Also in the band was Sir Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, AR Rahman and Damian Marley. Maybe check out their song "Miracle Worker" sometime.
Half way through this; wow! I've never heard her sing this version before. It's really better this way, in my opinion.
'Here Comes the Rain' and 'Don't Ask Me Why' (not to be confused with 'Why'), are my 2 favorite songs from Eurythmics.
That voice!😍
Annie has such a fantastic voice
Annies song, Walking On Broken Glass is great and the video is perfect, a mini movie!
Eurythmics ..... "Don't Ask Me Why" .
unbelievable interview........you guys are really doing it!
Man I feel like I've just been given a gift, that was incredible. Thank you Jay, Amber & Michael. ❣️🤘🏼😊
Love her voice!!!
Chills
Wow...Always loved this song! Never heard this version before. Incredible. Thanks for doing this!
Nicely done! Loved it.
Yeah, that's a WOW!

I love this version! Thank you.
Wow! 😊
Stunning version ❤
First comment and love The Eurythmics ❤
I love these interview reactions!
WOW ....AMAZING .. X
Kinda liked the original version back in the '80. But this is Wow, just Wow!
Good song good reaction I enjoyed it and it is good to hear the artist story
At Christmas you should react to God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by Annie Lennox who is the lead singer. One of the few xmas songs I really enjoy! ✌🇨🇦
Album version is great but glad you did this one

I used to play it as a nightclub dj when it came out and it was very popular song. It worked well with some Howard Jones , Human League, and duran Duran.
Absolutely awesome clip. Check out Saturday night live 25th anniversary performance it's a great medley
Dave Stewart working with Joss Stone, on a musical of the book
The Time Travellers Wife, like to see your reaction to the title Song
React to "take on me" by A-ha" the original first and then the acoustic version afterwards. Both equally awesome.
These kids are so adorable! How do I request a song for them?
I’d love to watch them react to Molly Hatchet’s song Dreams I’ll never see.
i know for sure Michael also would like BGKO- Djelem Djelem, or Od Ebra Do Dunava(live in Vilnius) or Lule Lule
You haven't done 'Walking on Broken Glass' or 'No More I Love You's' yet.
This unrelated, but the upcoming holiday made me think of it. I think you like Martina McBride; you should check out her song, Independence Day.
超級神曲之一
Scotland finest
And DAVE STEWART ain't Chopped Liver either! #propsplease
I normally don’t like live versions of songs, in fact, I actively avoid them. This one however sounded great.
Saw Billy gibbons at the grocery store the other day bet you could get him to do this if you just hit him up and ask
👍🏼
Where's the other 2 songs?
VAN HALEN INTRUDER INTRO INTO PRETTY WOMAN.
DIVER DOWN ALBUM.

Still no Prince live?
All their lives they've been each other's best relationship, but instead of marrying each other, they both married a bunch of come and go people. C'mon, figure it out and get it right next life.
I thought there was going to be 3 songs ?
They’ll probably do them over the course of the week.
You people do know that Dave abused Anne and that's why she left. She finally found the strength to leave that abrasive SOB.
Unplugged version is okay. The original studio version, from the album and music video are much better.
