Sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me
@Nikolas Alfredo i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Just built this stand today, the holes are very tricky lining up and a drill press would have made things easier. Also with the 3 10 foot PVC tubes I would highly recommend anyone doing this to only buy 4 I had to take back two 10 foot sections because it was more then enough. Other then that the stand is great it folds and is very sturdy. The cost is about 110.00 minus the glue and if you need the cutter for the pvc. I cut mine with a miter saw and got very precise cuts.
Nice design. I’d offer one alteration: the free looped side scares me. I’d likely instal something (set screw on each side of the loop or a modest u-shaped kitchen drawer pull) to prevent the loop from slipping down the side if the rack is inadvertently knocked.
Use clear primer, when gluing pvc, apply glue to both the pipe and the fitting. The pipe comes in two different types, there is regular pvc and then there is foam core pvc. Foam core is lighter in weight. Just as strong as regular pvc. You can use 1 1/2 " pvc.
Great idea! Will put one together next year. Have to figure out how to store mine outside in Pittsburgh. Off ground, but rightside up? overturned, or on its side.
Great video....I actually built a set myself.....my opinion and only my opinion.....is that I spent around $60 bucks on them , due to the fact that I had absolutely nothing laying around the house, so I had to buy everything except the webbing....after looking on Amazon I found some kayak stands with carrying bag for about $50 bucks, buuuuuuut they definitely don't seem to be as tall.....Nevertheless great video....and I was able to build 2 stands with 3 sticks of 10 FT.....just made the 16in sections shorter @12 in
I think I would heat a nail (held in a vise grip pliers) red hot, and melt the holes for the screws. That would be a tiny bit more secure, as it would make a sort of "grommet" in the webbing. But drilling seems to work well, and the stands look to work well.
Nice video. Anyone considered or tried a simple straight piece instead of T? Probably same strength and stability but saves fittings and maybe a full section of pipe as well. Also easier to get the flat fold several watchers mentioned. Cheers
I was thinking that exact thing as I watched this. It is also 3 points of contact then which will never wobble and saves fittings and materials. Did you build one to try it, by chance?
I’m going to have to store my kayak under my deck, no room in my garage. I think I’ll use pvc pipes to make a storage rack that I can slide the kayak onto. I’ll probably box it in to keep the critters from moving in also.
Thanks a lot for your videos! What do you think about using 1.5" or 1.75" PVC? My kayak is about 75 pounds. I want it to be strong, but 2" seems like it's more than I need. Thanks for your help.
Hi, love this, been looking for a taller foldable rack to help me load my kayak on my hullavator. Two questions, how tall is this rack when finished and what size bit on your drill for the holes. Wish you sold these!
FRIGGING AWESOME BUILD. Just what I need, I am new to kayaking, bought a Feel Free 11.5 and need a way to store it. My only question is, do you know how much it cost total? Because I will be keeping it outside half the time (upside down), I am going to add screw rings to the top outside of each leg, so I can rubber bungee strap it down, the weather gets a little CRAZY in Arkansas. Thanks for your great builds and info. Nick in Redfield Arkansas.
Probably going to build some of these. But I have some old harbor freight stands that were left at my house. I think I could just put some webbing across them and set my kayak on them. Either way, I probably got all the PVC I need anyway.
Hey TJ, I don't know what I did wrong, or if I did anything wrong at all... But I built these today and made sure to primer and glue. I waited until it was dry. Set my new Old Town Predator XL Minn Kota on it, and about 10 seconds or so after, while waking to the garage to grab a drill to start rigging it... CRASH!! 1 of the "Y" legs on each stand ripped right out of the 45° elbows and it crashed to the ground. Luckily I did not have the trolling motor consol in it or my electronics on it... Are these not supposed to support that kind of weight? Thanks for any ideas you may have.
Sounds like something wasn’t right, I’ve sat in mine on the stands... I don’t really know how much weight they will hold but pvc is pretty strong especially schedule 40 PVC, that is what you used right?
Hey TJ - just subscribed even though I don’t have a kayak yet! Thanks for providing specifics for your kayak stand. I hate to reinvent the wheel if I don’t have to. Looking forward to future videos! Jim
Love them. Im looking at a lowrance hook2 5. Can you do an on the water vid of the finder. Not sure ill spring for the chartplotter model i may just go with the 5x
Hello TJ - I'll soon buy a Hobie PA 14 kayak which empty weighs 120 pounds. Hobie estimates that the kayak would weigh about 140 pounds with gear inside. Do you think your PVC kayak stand will support that much weight? Thanks.
Kathy Dunn , Hey Kathy, thanks for watching my video. Yes it will definitely hold the weight, just to be sure to glue all of the parts together as you build them and be sure each part it straight when you glue them. Once they are glued, you’ll be surprised just how strong these are. Thanks again for the support and good luck with your project 👍🏼🎣🇺🇸
Thanks for the reply TJ - actually its Jim Dunn, Kathy's husband who asked this last question about weight limits on your PVC kayak stand. You were probably wondering why a female would want to fish out of a 140 pound kayak. Actually, if you knew my wife you wouldn't be surprised at all!!! I appreciate your advice. It should save me some $$$. I'm a subscriber to your videos. Keep um coming.
Hey brother great video, I wanted to ask for your opinion regarding kayaks. You have the ascend from bass pro and now the sea ghost I’m torn between both. I can’t decide which one I want. I want the sea ghost 130 because it’s smooth for the water, but I like the space you with the ascend kayak. I love the new prewire ascend. Awwww I can’t decide Help
ocrushjam , the ascends are nice but the Vibe is by far the better boat in my book, I've used both for a long time. You'll quickly find out that the large deck space in the Ascend isn't usable, the Vibe 130 however has a ton of actual usable space plus, built in rudder, built in transducer spot, it tracks better, way faster comes with a paddle.... Lol I can keep going....🤙🏼
Kayak USA thanks brother you just helped me with my new kayak purchase. I’ve been through 3 kayaks already and I didn’t like none of them. They were just not stable enough for me Thanks again love them videos
C Herzog , Yes ( very little LOL ) My gear page, Kit.com/kayakusa is mainly just links to everything I use in my videos or my personal gear. If you use my links from my page, I do get a very small percentage of the order from Amazon ( you pay the exact same of course ) my links are just shortcuts to the items on Amazon and Amazon has trackers in my links letting them know that the items purchased was from my page. So, if you use my page to get your gear I do appreciate it ! 👍🏼
Unless im seriously off with my numbers..I believe it only takes 2 8ft sticks to do this.. not 3 10ft pieces... 4x24 equals 8ft and 1 4ft piece and 32 inches is less than 7ft with over a foot to do the 2 3/4 piece.... unless you're taking 3x10 to do both sets?
This looks like a great project. Does the strap ever slide off the top of the “Y” side of the stand where it is just looped around? Would it be useful to put a single screw through the strap on that side to make sure the strap stays in place there?
Brandywine Angler , it does slide down but it's not an issue really, the reason for not screwing it down is , if you use it for different kayaks the webbing needs to be free to move for different shapes and widths. Hope this helps and thanks for watching🤙🏼
I built mine yesterday. I think I'll like them but it wasn't a cheap project. I could have bought stands about 1/2 the price. I'm not complaining though, I had fun building them. Really like your channel
No... I'm sorry but that's incorrect. The kayak rests on both straps with hardly any weight. I could keep this kayak on theses stands for 30 years and it would not hurt the kayak at all..
With a bit of tweaking of the lengths of the "T" and the spacing on the "Y", you could build these so they fold completely flat for storage.
Sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account?
I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me
@Kamari Leonel Instablaster ;)
@Nikolas Alfredo i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out now.

@Nikolas Alfredo it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account !
@Kamari Leonel No problem xD

Love your channel brother! Awesome DIY video as always.
Merry Christmas! Love your DIY’s

man, i love your channel. very well done, i'm going to build one for my kayak soon. thanks!
Fantastic idea i was 😖 perplexed about kyak stands and because of this i am off to the hardware store tomorrow 😀. Thanks.
That Ninja Turtles tat is dope. Turtle Power! One of the best arcade games ever. Love the channel, and thanks for the great ideas.
I think I would heat a nail (held in a vise grip pliers) red hot, and melt the holes for the screws. That would be a tiny bit more secure, as it would make a sort of "grommet" in the webbing. But drilling seems to work well, and the stands look to work well.
A pencil type soldering iron works great for nylon webbing.
Thanks this might just serve as a good solution for renters
the whole time I was liking your workbench. do you have a video on how you built it ?
@@woody350ep1 Never did, so it remains speculation. You may be the first 🙂
I’m going to have to store my kayak under my deck, no room in my garage. I think I’ll use pvc pipes to make a storage rack that I can slide the kayak onto. I’ll probably box it in to keep the critters from moving in also.
Just wanted to say great video 👍👍
Really enjoy your videos thanks for all your time and efforts.
Brilliant idea! Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for watching! I think 1.5” will do fine 🤙🏼🎣
Very good instructor.
Definitely building these THANKS!! Love your channel!
Two Brothers Outdoors , No problem man! Thanks for watching!!🤙🏼
Merry Christmas!
What an amazing project
Thanks man!! 🤙🏼
Great video as always. Since PVC can bend, how much weight do you think the stands could hold?
Wes Smith , Not exactly sure but I think we'll over 200lbs... 🤙🏼
Hi, love this, been looking for a taller foldable rack to help me load my kayak on my hullavator. Two questions, how tall is this rack when finished and what size bit on your drill for the holes. Wish you sold these!
You my brother, kick ass !
Thanks man! 👊🏼

Thanks for your great builds and info.
Nick in Redfield Arkansas.
Harbour Freight sells work stands for about $20. They'll hold 200lbs. Made of steel tubing
FTW
Thanks for demo on stands I have been looking for stands for the vibe Shearwater 125 I am in the process of purchasing.
Probably going to build some of these. But I have some old harbor freight stands that were left at my house. I think I could just put some webbing across them and set my kayak on them. Either way, I probably got all the PVC I need anyway.
Awesome, let me know how they turn out for you🤙🏼
You always have great DIY ideas for Yakkers!
Kevn Peppel , Thanks bud!🤙🏼
Great video. Think I might build me a set! Have you thought about shortening the T-Leg so that it will fold up flat when not in use?
Merry Christmas ..!!!
Love the DIY Stand its Great!!!
Great job! I'm just starting to get into kayaks & found your channel, really enjoying it! You put some great info on here!
Have you weight tested, my kayak is 225 loaded NATIVE SLAYER 12.5
Would you have any recommendations on adding wheels to a setup such as this? For moving around the garage, to the back of the truck, cleaning etc.
Michael Lee , I'm sure you can add a set of caster wheels to the feet pretty easy👍🏼
Very nice, I'm going to build this for my kyack.

Kayak USA I did use schedule 40 pipe. But honestly, I didn't know there was such a thing as schedule 40 fittings. Thank you. I'll build another set.
Hey TJ - just subscribed even though I don’t have a kayak yet! Thanks for providing specifics for your kayak stand. I hate to reinvent the wheel if I don’t have to. Looking forward to future videos! Jim

Rich Pawlak , Will do!🤙🏼
Will this support my kyak 13.5. 95# and extra weight of trolling motor ?
Hello TJ - I'll soon buy a Hobie PA 14 kayak which empty weighs 120 pounds. Hobie estimates that the kayak would weigh about 140 pounds with gear inside. Do you think your PVC kayak stand will support that much weight? Thanks.

tsimpsongoodyear , Thanks bro👊🏼
Merry Christmas
Nice job!
Nice video. Better than using my cheap saw horses.
can you store the kayak on them with out damage
well done, thanks for sharing
Great video! About to head to Guntersville Lowe's and pick up the material!
Send me some pics when they are built!
Kayak USA Will do buddy! Sent you an email last night as well

ocrushjam , Thats awesome bud! Glad I could help. We you gonna order it or by it locally?
Kayak USA I found it cheaper getting it directly from vibe. I believe it was 899.99 for the sea ghost 130 orange camo.
Man, another excellent DIY Project, well done !
Really enjoying your channel.
Thanks man!
Outstanding
Will a 120pdl set in the webbing?
Yes sir.
Would they be good to use for storage?
Eric Conner , They are perfect for storage👍🏼
Where do you find the links?
Great video
If we order off your gear page does that help you
C Herzog , Yes ( very little LOL ) My gear page, Kit.com/kayakusa is mainly just links to everything I use in my videos or my personal gear. Yes for both sets, having just one won’t really do you any good.
Super solid build. Do you think this will cause any issues with where the kayaks rest? Such as warping in the hull?
Thanks bud, not at all, it hugs the kayak just right 🤙🏼😎
Genius
This looks like a great project. Does the strap ever slide off the top of the “Y” side of the stand where it is just looped around? Would it be useful to put a single screw through the strap on that side to make sure the strap stays in place there?

Thanks man! Yeah, it is a little pricey if you don’t have the material laying around.🤙🏼🎣
Great DIY! I missed how much $$$ you invested in the materials
Bagwellous Manuel , probably around $60 👍🏼
80 bucks
Are you from Boston?
I’m from Alabama 👍🏼
Kayak USA from you shirt Paddy’s bar Boston
Does your dad sell or will he sell some of that webbing? I love the red white and blue!
I’ll check and see for you.🤙🏼
Kayak USA I’ll for sure support your channel!!
Nice build, but you only have two contact points for the kayak to rest on. This may case warping or denting if stored that way.
No... I'm sorry but that's incorrect. The kayak rests on both straps with hardly any weight. I could keep this kayak on theses stands for 30 years and it would not hurt the kayak at all..
Wow.. Nice but around$150
:)
Hey, ur arm tattoo superman better beat batman dumb stink... i support superman.
meh I just get a $20 hood stand from Harbor Freight
