Lyrics
Baby, it's slow
When the lights go low
There's no help, no
Baby, it's slow
When lights go low
There's no help, no
He's drilling through the Spiritus Sanctus tonight
Through the dark hip falls
Screaming, "Oh, you mambos
Kill me and kill me and kill me"
If I jerk the handle
You'll die in your dreams
If I jerk the handle, jerk the handle
You'll thrill me and thrill me and thrill me
Baby, it's slow
When lights go low
There's no help, no
This song makes that cover art so scary
on the floor, just outside of the frame, a dead body, with bruises and cigarrette burns all over
lol the way that dude in the middle smiles it just makes it more sinister looking lolol
like if they were dead
Bronson.
The isnt the cover art, this is a song from the album "nite flights" and the art work is quite fitting, sorry to burst ur bubble. This is a compilation album entailing their work from the early 60's to 77, which ended with the last aforementioned album. If u actually dig this song check out Scott Walkers solo albums. Soused and Bish Bosch to start. This song is an easy in to the genius of his true works. But absolutely not for the faint of heart. This song is easy listening compared to "Fetish" or "Farmer in the city". But if u have balls try it.
To this day still a unique sound. The amazing Scott Walker was one of a kind.
I always think of the end of _Brazil_ when I listen to this song, with the soaring middle passage corresponding to Sam Lowry's hallucinations sandwiched between sessions in the torturer's chair.
The beginning of many Scott Walker masterpieces.
Scott Walker had many masterpieces long before this.
@@egrorian1what r they
@@Skwid-Lives too many to mention!
The film Bronson is about the human spirit that seeks to create and the human will that never gives up. All he wanted was to actually express himself but he wasn't allowed to. During the end scene when he puts a hat and an apple inside the librarian's mouth, he was recreating the painting known as _Son of Man._ The painting has strong Christ connotations, as does the film.
Such a rock solid, criminally underrated movie.
That's fascinating. I've seen Bronson many times and I didn't make the Christ connection.
It was a painting by Magritte.
I like the Vaseline fighting technique.
My fav movie. Try reading silent scream, his book.
I was surprised to see they were from LA. I assumed they were a British group.
The great Morris Pert on sound effects.
What a wonderful song! A real fu**ing masterpiece! Love it
Bowie said Scott was a major influence on his style. You can hear Bowie all over this cut. RIP, Both Scott and Bowie.
OBE Direct I hear Japan and David Sylvian in all this as well......
Yup! Listen to Bowie's song 'Heat'. You can tell he definitely took some inspiration from this!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this song is so weird that it makes it awesome. parts of it reminds me of when you would slow the record down as it was playing making their voices sound all slow and drunk lol. very nice
trip hop before trip hop
It reminds me of pink floyd
who knew a song about CIA torture could be so mesmerizing
One of maybe 3 songs that left me weeping.
This song is one of their masterpieces. I'm all in.
My name is Charles Bronson. All my life I wanted to be famous. I knew I was made for better things. I had a calling. I just didn't know what it is. Wasn't singing. I can't fucking act. Kinda running out of choices really, aren't we?
You can be better than a celebrity without being famous but if thats what you wish being know by lots of pp i wish you luck
@@THETRUTHISHERE2030 It was a quote from the movie Bronson, where this track appears, go watch it is awesome
Love that movie.
This is Scott experimenting wth sounds, the concept & mystery of pure sounds, how frequencies & Sonics affect us & mixing conventional wth progressive.
I love this track because it's not for explaining or words its the sounds pure & not so simple.
Genius
fascinating , captivating- wish it was on the top 20 pop charts today.
This is a strange masterpiece
When darkness becomes pitch black
Imagine buying the album because of the radio friendly " No Regrets" and then hearing this track.
here' scott taking lounge music, tearing it up into little pieces, incinerating the pieces and then taking the ashes and dissolving them in acid. Then dipping his pen in the acid and writing this music....
well put
Kudos
The other walker bros had to been like wtf is Scott on about
I'd be fascinated to hear them interviewed about working with him. What a weirdo, i freaking love him though DGMW
Soo viele Löckchen.
Und feine Hände, hoffentlich.
Wow. Gem hx
The first few seconds sound like the opening for an old horror film.
The soundtrack of every 80s horror movie. Calling Freddy Krueger...
The song wich has inspired Midge Ure for "Vienna"
4:32 And i thinh that inspired Martin L. Gore for the introduction of "A question of lust"
Dude is just accidentally the coolest person ever...
My name is Charles Bronson, and all my life I wanted to be famous
Yess
I wasn't bad. I wasn't "BAD" bad.
Ahhh so this is where the inspiration for Cat People came from
When my mom call me by my full name
Alexis Poher-Veillé thanks for the late night lol
Lol
why is this the cover art when this wasn't even the album cover it was on? The Nite Flight cover is great; why did they go with the cover of the album from 2 years prior?
Not too sure why, my guess is that the label just probably uploaded it with the image they had the rights to use...but there's something so dissonant about using the happy No Regrets cover over this dark song that it works somehow.
I think the lads were having a few drinks on the cover photo...
Фантастическое произведение
People who watch Bronson 😳💀
manhunt ahh sounding song
Seek out a band named Sightings who do a wicked cover of this song
Amazing piece. So haunting. Powerful feelings.... specially knowing what´s about.

Scott must have written this after he took awhile off to be in the religious retreat. Weird from first hits. Music ok but undescribable and haunting...baby it's snow..when the lights go low...there's no place to go.
There's no hell No...
ULTRAVOX - VIENNA, INSPIRATION?

The only track I tell friends/colleagues to seek out and discover. Amazing.
The orchestration is over the top and out of this world!

The begining of the song reminds me to the Manhunt soundtrack

The arrangement of this is almost pink Floyd esq. absolute incredible piece of music and musical arrangement. It doesn’t get much better tbh
This inspired Midge Ure for Ultravox' "Vienna", another monumental song
My favourite song❤️
Never get enough of this track, perfect in it's intensity and atonalness and then released beauty
