Man, the Free Fire Zone from Abe's Oddysee is possibly the most evocative and atmospheric level I've ever experienced in a game. It's stayed with me since childhood, that mystic humming pulsing drone, that starry night sky, that sense of dread, mystery and impending freedom. You could almost feel the cold night breeze as Rupturefarms' rusty pipes and noxious fumes are left behind and you are greeted by a long forgotten view: the stars, the sky. The sound of nature, vast, sleeping but vigilant. The music puts me in a peaceful and curious mood every time I go back to hear it, and I absolutely love it. Favourite piece of ambience, ever

And I just wanted a long version of the really natural nightime-sounding main themes of both games to listen to at night when I just want to relax and think peacefully.

I'm very glad it's made you experience that nostalgia! :D It's really amazing how powerful the universe of Oddworld is that people still feel so much for it even after so long.
This song has something so mystical to it. It's overwhelming yet comforting. As Abe is leaving the farm he once called home to a vast land he never knew you can hear the sounds of the wilderness of mudos, the mudokon moon reminiscing the long forgotten heritage of Abe's people.
I can imagine abe sitting down on the edge of the cliff, near the remains of the stockyards and Rupture farms, simply looking over it and thinking about his decisions, whilst he raises his arm up to compare his hand to the similar handprint on the moon that sits above him.
We have a mini playstation and my son and I always play this game...and Sometimes I'll just leave the playstation on for hours just to listen to this 😌 relaxing
I like that the tracks tell the player that they're so miniscule compared to the rest of oddworld. Being at the bottom of the food chain was also something interesting, making you feel even more miniscule compared to all the wild animals and oddworld. It sets the scene perfectly. And the mucky green skies were also beautiful and that it changes to a calming blue at night makes the game a treat to glaze at. This is a perfect track for a perfect game!

The stockyards and free fire zone is so atmospheric and haunting. The music is peaceful which kind of contrasts the grim reality of factory farming and the impaled mudokon corpses littering the free fire zone. All while the sky changes from a polluted orange-green to a clear blue night

How would it's music sound? Say if it like, Recreated the Games tracks, into like epic movie style variants. You'd think they would sound like, Orchestral or Synth Heavy? Or Both?

i made a playlist like this for my own sleep. i like "free fire zone" "scrabania" and "paramonium temple"
I was thinking about putting those other ones in here too but decided to stick with the stockyards feel. xD
Damn this is perfect for reading the abes origins book
Thanks!!
And we will gonna find them..
You know a video game's sound design is a true masterpiece when you remember the entire saga from the first seconds of the music.
These songs scared the shit out of me when I was 9 lol loved the game though. I was so obsessed about it
I just realized now that the track 'Serenity' from RE4 sounds kinda similar to the stockyards' theme
This is so lovely! Helps me when I'm struggling to sleep. Thanks :)
You're welcome! :)
"I had just got past those Slogs, when the strangest thing I saw, a big moon was before me. And it's face was my paw." -Abe, the mudokon
I was playing that bit today! :)
@@pupbenny Yes.
This music sounds depressing and relaxing too and I like it XD
I've never heard anyone call it depressing before but I guess it kind of is. XD
Dude I always sleep to free fire zone stockyards that's my favourite
Thanks!
Can I just say this has cured my insomnia, thanks for making this :)
Nice was was just going to bed
Perfect timing! xD
Brings back ps1 vibes
Freakin' Love This Soundtrack.
Really makes ya wonder, if they were to translate oddworld into some Cinematic Theatrical movie, not counting soulstorm even though its a perfect example.
How would it's music sound?
Say if it like, Recreated the Games tracks, into like epic movie style variants.
You'd think they would sound like, Orchestral or Synth Heavy?
Or Both?
The music and the video that plays reminds me of the original halo ce loading screen.
It gives you wonder to what might be coming next.
I was just commenting in another video that Abe's Soundtrack & generally all audio synthesis is so current now with all these relaxation / sleep videos. Thank you for this! THOSE PADS IN ABE'S ODYSSEE TAKE ME PLACES OF A I TIME I NEVER LIVED AND DON'T REMEMBER BUT FEELS LIKE HOME! Also, just saw your a bit of your long description - I'm pretty sure you understand what I mean! Also, the MOON!
😪😪😪 Beautiful Moon
Abe's Moon has always been a beautifully iconic symbol! :D
This is wholesome, thanks pup. Love your content
Thank you very much. :)
What a wonderful creation this game is
Shit this hits hard, i miss the days where i ran home from school just to play Oddworld. God i miss the good old times
Ah the nostalgia is palpable. Good stuff.
I'm the king of nostalgia. xD
Dude, you’re a saint🙌
I love these, we miss you pal
I wish soulstorm kept this atmosphere:(
Once... there were many of us.
Thank you
I missed out on a great franchise
Brilliant.
in love with this 🥰🥰. you could do another relaxing video like this but with the oddysee bell sounds ❤️
Thank you! :) That's a good idea! I might do that! :)

where can i find this wallpaper ?
thanks you
Relax music is not what I think of when it comes to oddworld music
Oddworld is my fav vibe
Very cool idea, bud! As someone who's mind is constantly thinking and active, this was great. I am in the middle of uploading an Oddworld New N Tasty series designed to convey the canon storyline through the gameplay, edits etc. Please check the series out. It will all be uploaded by the end of October. Looking forward to Soulstorm, too! Much love.
Hope you don't mind if I screenshot this for my desktop background? It's just too pretty not too X)
Can i use your video for background music of my stream? Such beautiful
I do wish this was somewhat longer
If you're on desktop you can right click the video and select 'loop' and it'll loop it for you. :)
thank you
Soulstorms soundtrack massively disappoints, Oddworld used to have such trippy soul filled music 🎶
Yeah it's quite repetitive and forgettable, no unique tracks that fit with each level like they used to. Although I did like the Necrum track in Soulstorm which was like the original Necrum theme from Exoddus.
Yeah, I completely agree, it seemed to lose it's uniqueness on initial playing at least.
Strangely the bass is as deep as I remember, even though, at that time, the sound came out of computer speakers from the late 90s
Childhood
so amazing 😳
Shame Scrabania's theme didn't find a place in this video.
Also is it just me or does New 'n' Tasty's iteration make Oddysee's theme sound better?
I'd like to do more videos like this with the other themes. :)
I LOVE IT
I'm glad you love it! :D
Thanks, i'm a big fan of this game since i'm a children, i'm asking to rerererereredo it but, that game is so nice, how to resist ? Your video helped me to reduce my stress :)
PS: Can you please share the moon background ? would love to put it as a wallpaper
I'm glad to hear the video helped to reduce your stress! :D Sure, I can share the moon background! :) Was there a particular lighting you wanted? Like when the lighting is bright or do you prefer the moon dimmed a bit?
@@pupbenny Thanks for your reply :) i would said both if possible as i'm almost on OSX so it would be cool to make a time adaptive wallpaper :)
@@totalgaara OH that is a fanstiatc idea! :D I have no idea how to do that but knowing how to is definitely something I'm interested in finding out so I'll look into it and let you know if I manage to create something! :D
@@pupbenny apparently you can do it on this website : dynamicwallpaper.club :)
