This can't be the end of the story, all minecraft players, back when minecraft first came out, were all noobs, we all always start off somewhere, there has to be a noob, somewhere, that gets curious, and explores beyond, there has to be someone who want to learn more, someone who wants to build more, there has to be that one person, that goes from noob, to beginner.

@@Mangoo0es thats because because the lesson is that there is always a sliver of hope, maybe this noob will venture far enough and see a vast, green forest and stone, get curious and use his tools to mine that stone and try and make stone tools, tells others about these tools and they eventually find iron, thus ends the age of noobs, thus begins the age of pros

Even though its extremely rare, it is possible to find diamonds by digging straight down. Since diamonds spawn on y=12, once you reach that there is a possibility of the diamond being below you
