Thank you so much for all you do and help us. I tested 5.7 last week. In March I changed my diet, getting rid of most of the breads, pasta and watching my sugar intake. I have lost 30 lbs. and 4 inches around my waist. I have my A1c tested every 4 months. My triglyserides have always been at a great level. I am 74 years old and have noticed a huge change in my 70's. I have to watch everything a lot closer than when I was younger. I do walk 2-3 miles every morning. And lift free weights at least 4 days a week. Still working on that pesky A1c though.
Thank you for video, I was Diabetic in 2018 with HBa1c 6.8, I treated my self with Diet (low Carb high good Fat) with Intermittent Fasting (Roza) now I am non diabetic with HBa1c 5.3 all without insulin or pills. Hi Kaiti! I still eat 4eggs and two sausage patties every morning ! Not pre diabetic anymore but still trying to lower my insulin levels. Have a good day Kaiti, love you ❤
I usually eat at 10 AM and 4 PM no snacks. I eat eggs with both meals coupled with steak, burger, salmon, liver, or sausages. No fruits and little vegetables. I do this about 6 days a week. Sometimes I have a glass of wine with my meal.
Hi Kait! Great content as always! I’m at the gym lifting weights by 4:30am 4 days a week. I eat my breakfast at 8am everyday. Trying to be consistent 😅. I also have insulin resistance so I’ve learned to eat a very high protein breakfast not just to help with building muscle but to keep me full until late afternoon and to keep my blood sugar under control. This morning I made a huge omelette with chicken sausage and loads of veggies. I also had 155 grams of seedless cucumbers with tuna salad. I ate everything! 78 grams of protein and only 13 grams of carbs. Delicious and nutritious!
Glad to hear this, there’s so much conflicting information out there. I’ve been eating scrambled eggs and two sausage links, the high fat meat corroborated by another site, but then was told sausage was unhealthy so I should switch to cottage cheese. I also was told that frying any meat including bacon, sausage or ham was bad. Along with the sausage and eggs I’ve been having a slice of whole wheat whole grain toast, but was told all grains should be out of my diet including any wheat like this toast, Wheaties cereal, etc. I’m definitely going to be making that mushroom and cheddar omelette, great idea, thanks. 👍
4 eggs ( any style ) 3 bacon strips 3 sausage links Pork rinds or macadamia nuts Chunk of cheese I eat this every single day and never get sick of it and only have a snack for lunch…
Love my eggs for breakfast with mushrooms and onion too. Explain the difference in crashes and hunger with fat consumption vs protein. A lot of the things you described about protein slowing down carb digestion and preventing sugar crashes can be attributed to fat as well.
I am Pre diabetic. I don't use medication. My GP said it's diet controlled now but if it doesn't improve i could be placed on Metformin. You are the best Doctor i have ever heard good advice from. I have stopped eating white bread, rice and potatoes etc. Go on veg and fishes!. Basically, the safest thing to be doing is to make sure you know the GI (Glycemic index) of any food you are eating to avoid not only sugary content but also carbohydrate which will eventually turn to sugar!. Once you are aware of those things you are going to be alright permanently. I bet you. I'm now very good. 👌👍
Also type 1 (LADA). I used to eat high healthy carbs and low fat, but my weight and insulin resistance increased steadily over the last 5 years since diagnosed. I have now completely changed my macros - still low fat, but also low carb and high plant-based protein. This is a game changer! I have lost 10 kg in 3 months, blood sugar is low and extremely stable, decreased insulin by 70%. I also go for a 15 minute walk after lunch, I no longer need insulin for lunch.

great video and thanks. We live in Canada (NOT THE 51ST STATE) so our diabetic readings are a little different than in the US. So what is considered a spike. My wife is pre diabetic and was recently, a year ago, taken off medicine for the condition due to low numbers, but her own testing is showing it to be rising slightly for a fasting (early morning) read. Testing though out the day can go from 6's to 9.7 on any given day. IS this a actual spike or is this a somewhat normal change in a prediabetic patient. She just turned 72 years of age, we eat well, get our walks in and do not eat processed foods. The only medication she is taking is for thyroid? Thanks you in advance hope to hear bake soon.

Hi Kait 😁👋 I eat at 7.30am. Then at 9am I go to my gym and do their 20min ab and core class. It's quite intense. Then I do 20min treadmill, high incline fast walk. Then 15min weights mostly for my arms. I need energy for this workout. I'm 60 and healthy.
My breakfast is closer to lunch if I have it at all, but it always consists of eggs (more often than not scrambled with cheese) and sometimes I will have a can of sardines. As for oatmeal, yuck 🤢I'm not a horse lol 😂
Or oats! Grains and bread are the best food for you if you want to RAISE your blood sugar. If you want to decrease it have more protein. Kait just told you in this video to add bacon or sausage to your eggs and cut out carbohydrates.
Fat free cottage cheese half a cup Half a cup of blueberries 1 tsp raw honey 2 boiled eggs. 1 bottle water 1 medium decaf cofee black Total 27 grams of protein Honey and blue berries great anti oxidants Tell me what u think
There are foodstuffs that are far more nutrient dense than others. A simple example is fatty fish vs porterhouse steak. 300g of wild caught salmon gives you 353 cal, of which is mostly is provided by protein. 300g of beef porterhouse steak provides 666 cal, about the same amount of protein, but higher levels of fat. The "balance between fat and protein" is more even that in even the fattiest fish. It will keep you satiated for longer because of the higher fat content.
No oatmeal for diabetes, it’s adding to your problem. Cut out all grains and other carbohydrates as they literally turn to glucose (sugar) in the body. Oatmeal may make you feel fuller for longer but it will just add to your problem in the end as you’re adding more fuel that turns into sugar. You need to go high fat, high protein, very low carb to do battle against diabetes.

I use longevity smoothies. Low in fat low in sugar has cacao chia flax omegas very good. I get protein from eggs fish n meat. But this longevity is my go to option for a good healthy fast smoothie.
My thought on adding a 1/2 cup of black or red kidney beans because of the fiber will slow an sugar spike. Ive read this over and over,.. so how much truth is there in that thought.
Allergic to eggs and lactose intolerant make breakfast tough. Do almond protein powder and coconut or soy milk creami with pecans or natural chunky peanut butter.

I had 6 stents put in i am told to eat a heart healthy diet and no salt.. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Typical breakfast for me is 3 eggs, 2oz pork belly, 5 oz 80/20 burger and .5 oz beef liver.
thanks kait!!!
Great info hi hck
Are eggs and oatmeal with protein powder a good option to break intermittent fasting at noon if I have type 1 diabetes?
No oatmeal for diabetes, it’s adding to your problem. Cut out all grains and other carbohydrates as they literally turn to glucose (sugar) in the body. Oatmeal may make you feel fuller for longer but it will just add to your problem in the end as you’re adding more fuel that turns into sugar. You need to go high fat, high protein, very low carb to do battle against diabetes.
I dont eat until
12/1 pm.
great video ✨
thanks big help
Some experts have reccomadation for oats 🤔
Some experts are not very expert if they’re still telling you to eat carbohydrate laden oats.
Having Avocado with breakfast ok?

No.
@@Desertflower743 dumb follow up is that no it is good for breakfast as type 2 or no I should pass and eat scrambled eggs avacado bacon and spinach salad on side? thank you
Can anybody tell me if OMAD and intermittent fasting is healthy?
I've been doing both for last 4 months. I've lost 40 lbs, great bloodwork and never felt better. I'm off diabetes mefs, station and high BP meds.
@@jaymichael2231 Im so glad you're doing well, ive been doing it for 3 weeks but havent stepped on scale yet although my pants are definitely looser. Thanks for the reply.
Yes
I was told if i want to lose weight after menopause i should cut out all dairy products.
good video
I eat one egg ,2 bacon, and 1 slice of homemade wheat bread with raisins
I use longevity smoothies. Low in fat low in sugar has cacao chia flax omegas very good. I get protein from eggs fish n meat. But this longevity is my go to option for a good healthy fast smoothie.
Bless youre soul 🤎😊 😘
🥰🥰
Awesome thanks for your knowledge and incite uncured Bacon and Sausage are my favorite from the Farmers market 😋 😀 👍
My thought on adding a 1/2 cup of black or red kidney beans because of the fiber will slow an sugar spike. Ive read this over and over,.. so how much truth is there in that thought.
Also I cant seem to find any greek yogurt with less than 6 grams of sugar.
Great video, can you make a video for people who have food allergies. I’m allergic to eggs, ever video I see it’s eat eggs there good for you, not me
Allergic to eggs and lactose intolerant make breakfast tough. Do almond protein powder and coconut or soy milk creami with pecans or natural chunky peanut butter.
