This was a great interview...I love seeing Billy happy and having fun! He rules
30 years ago this fall I was a freshman at UIC and discovered the Pumpkins. I've been a super fan for as long and it's so great to see Billy happy.
and that Metro show was fkn amazing.
Hearing the way Billy talks about his kids gives me way more respect for him!!
Great interview. Love Corgan. Always so articulate and thoughtful. Kinda ironic though how he discusses the issues of “clickbait” and such, then having this video posted with the title “rivalry with Nirvana” which he doesn’t discuss until the end of the video and which was not a “rivalry” at all, but more of a mutual respect and inspirational competitiveness, similar to The Beatles and The Beach Boys. This video deserves a better title.
He's definitely dropping Nirvana into basically every interview at the moment deliberately. It's clever marketing.
Billy is a highly intelligent person that lives in his head and it has been nice lately that he has ventured out and been doing a list of interviews to let us in. He is an interesting person to understand and resonates with people when they can see where he is coming from. Outstanding!!
BTW Billy, you’ve never been a heel, you had assholes trying to make a name for themselves at your expense. Something tells me that their lives still suck as they look for the next person to stand on trying to save themselves from drowning.
You won!
😂
Awesome musician.....
Great interview guys! Thank you
that was a nice interview!
You are wonderful Billy. Thank you so much for all you are doing 🙏
Kenzie got this 💯
Cool interview
Love Billy❤
Wow, thanks, this was a great interview. I finally got to see my very first S.P. show last week on the 5th, (cross it off of my Bucket List) on the hottest, most miserable day for blazing sun & temps Cincy got hit with, plus, the venue being on the Ohio River didn't help, & I had to suffer through it for hours, getting there earlier to get a good parking spot; & James & Billy made a joke on "Welcome to Sea World" as we were all swimming in the humidity...(lets not forget sweat) & I was really blown away by the concert. Just, elated! I was happy I knew most of the songs, because I slacked off on keeping up on whatever 90's bands I loved were putting out from like, 2008 until now, so the few songs I didn't know were really good, & some of it rocked so hard, I was shocked they even had songs that were like that. And, holy hell, I get on youtube to see whatever kind of recent S.P. info could be on here, with some very nice concert videos in the mix, but it was like, so much trolling & Billy bashing, I was like.... ""Wait.....Is he REALLY THAT BAD of a person to meet in person?" I took some of it with a grain of salt for various reasons...me having most of a lifetime myself meeting famous people, & knowing people can't be at their best all the time, but, I kinda get that a lot of it was crap that may've gone on during the 90's, &, honestly, there seemed to be a bit of a weird punk rage in most people of our generation at that time, as if so much pissed all of us off for whatever reason, & we've mellowed out & matured since then, so, it was nice seeing/hearing him just being a regular down to earth kind of guy on your show, & it's true that there's just too many trolls in the media & on the internet that twist things...I've had it happen to me several times over the years, so, yeah. Some people are just going to be who & what they're going to be, good or bad. Most of us have moved past that, but others aren't there yet.
I really can’t stand when people say that Billy Corgan is a “complete jerk”. He really, really isn’t. Is he brash sometimes when approached in public? Well, sometimes. But Billy is rarely (anymore) wrong about what he’s saying, people just don’t want to hear it the way he says it. But this proves he absolutely is very empathetic, and very interested in helping victim families. Babyface Billy baby.
Nah, he’s full of himself.
For years I heard billy randomly picked the name mayonnaise because it was the first thing he saw after writing the song
Yeah, he said that at one time. But young Billy is definitely somebody who would say something like that because it's almost being a smart-ass and he probably was sick of being asked that lol
I started reading your autobiography Billy in 2006 but I didn't get through it all. Is there a way I can continue reading it?
I can't believe he didn't answer you
We love you Billy.
Don’t speak for all of us
I love oldies like Siamese Dream and Nevermind.
Hahahaha, yes Billy, it was definitely you being in tune to things onstage that made you correctly predict the gender of an unborn child. DEFINITELY not the fact that you have a 50/50 chance and you happened to pick right 😂. Kenzie: “That’s unbelievable!” Lol
Technically it’s not exactly 50/50
I am really miss his rivalry with kurt in making music. He was right. He is right. Smh I think Kurt so selfish leaving the stage so early, leave dude like billy just like that. What a miss... RIP Kurt, we missed you. Billy missed you.
24:52 wtfuck is that effect. I'm watching this at 3 am in the morning good lord that scared the fuck out of me
Who’s running the damn camera needs to calm down
Anyone notice Billy is starting to look like Norm McDonald? But they're definitely two different people...or so the Germans would have us believe.
He looks like Colin Robinson from What We Do in the Shadows 😂
Hahaha great call
Now you’re thinking like Albert Fish!
@@Hulkamaniac418the world is a energy vampire
Billy speaking in code 😏
Did he say 'auspicious event'?
I think he was referring to the benefit event.
Kurt being the most talented 😅😅😅😅😅
I can't believe this is even promoted
There's actually some really cool and perhaps unintentional symbolism with naming the song Mayonaise. Mayonaise is an emulsion, and the song lyrics to me convey Billy's soul and mind having mixed feelings of living and dying. You can tell he is very depressed and suicidal, yet the song still conveys some sort of perseverance and hope "when I can, I will". So his feelings are mixed, thus an emulsion. Because an emulsion is a mixture of liquids. So I don't know if Billy gave them a bullshit answer or not but I think this symbolism maybe be the intention. Or maybe I am just really high.
You can find meaning in anything if you look too long.
@@TheHungryPigeon you can also just be really high ;)
@@colinclayton8042 So cool.
@@TheHungryPigeon I know right
If this is the end of the movie explain that NWA on your jacket and all these sponsors billy because it wasnt the LSD 👀
Billy lost a bunch of weight, he's looking good and as active as ever.
I may be going crazy, is but Billy Corgan starting to look like Norm McDonald?
Norm Corgan
wow that thumbnail made Billy look sickly, lol. Bad timing on that photo.
Corgan in a fitted just rubs me wrong.
I listen to 90s Pumpkins way way way more than Nirvana so I give the nod to Billy.
The world at large just doesn’t though. Nirvana is on top
This lady looks and sounds exactly like abella danger
overdoing the trendy shaky hand-held camera effect. makes me nauteous
what an odd looking duck
Yeah Billy, but there was a bit more with Kurt than band competition, you were sleeping with Courtney before and some have said during, that’s why he took the pills in Rome. Could just clear that up but not mentioning Love at all, seems secretive.
Trent Reznor screwed her too.....Who wasn't she screwing? Not excusing Billy, but, two people in a relationship that were both popular rockers in their own bands & doing hard drugs is already a train wreck. Then bringing a baby into the mix...it's like you could see shit hit the fan for them before it did.
Isn’t wrestling fake?
Yes and no. The best way I've seen this answered is: "Well porn is fake, but they're still f*cking"
The people who weren't there, weren't born yet who make those dumb comparisons about Kurt
🙄
Apparently therapy didn't help billy 💯
Like TSP, hate pro wrestling! 🤢🤮
Nirvana killed SP in every way imaginable
Except for "surviving."
Not in proper shotgun handling.
Pumpkins have way more good songs that Nirvana and on a musicianship and evolution level are far superior. Kurt wrote Teen spirit so the argument ends there.
Why compare?
Nirvana was great. I'd put SP way above them though. Nirvana wasn't even the best "grunge" group to me. That would go to one of the other big four (Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam). I even like Stone Temple Pilots more. But comparing the best Nirvana has to offer against something like Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness? Insane.
Im sorry...I love Nirvana but Billy is SOOO much more talented than Kurt.
Kurt was the "Voice of Generation X" whereas Corgan was the "Voice of Pumpkin Land"
Agreed. But Kurt wrote Teen Spirit. Debate over.
Agreed, 100%
GOD has created and endowed humans with their respective talents
