You got me! Probably once dead, I would not mind the bad weather, the lack of sun 8 months per year, the never ending winters, the nearly frozen sea, the Russian threat, the lack of good gastronomy, and the great tax system.
i'm planing to settledown in Estonia so as a newcomer is it difficult to find job coz my background is sales & marketing however if i bring int.driving license than will able to drive car if there is an option to work in food delivery like as Uber eats or any other local like that..
If you speak Finnish then learning Estonian should be fairly painless and quick. Even when you do some grammar errors and supplant grammar constructs you don't know of using Finnish, you'd be understandable. Isn't it in reverse exactly how many Estonian's make themselves understandable in Finnish as well?
As an Estonian, I'm not looking forward to retirement here. Pension is way too low compared to the general living cost. With the average pension you can't even rent an apartment in the capital, not to mention general monthly expences.
you are not supposed to just live off the pension anyway, you should gather your own money and the pension is just the government boost to the money you already have. This is why there is the third pillar for pension which you should gather on top of the government pension
@@roninblue5885 there are three pillars, first pillar is the government , second pillar is made up of the company you are working at paying it in and this is the money in the end you would receive in monthly paymennts in the end, so it can wastly differ between two people, it depends on how long was your working career in total and how much money you have collected. The thir pillar is flexible and is not mandatory, you can order your bank to just start collecting a cetrain amount from your monthly income but you can also at any time take the money out again. This means in the end that if you have made bad decisions in the past then you also get much less money. The only negative part on that side is that if you are medically ill and cant have a successful career due to that then you would also just get less payouts in the end.
@@jurgenkoks9142 I am well aware, but obviously I am talking about the pensions people are recieving now, not maybe in 40 years time (or whenever they retire). The pension people recieve currently have nothing to do with the 3 pillars, this is the newer system already. The pension system changes constantly and it's naive to think that the "3 pillar system" will stay the same for decades. Same goes for the other expences.
Yeah, like England ain't cold at all :D. It doesn't matter to me how cold is this/that country. Last week the weather was like 36° here in Estonia. England isn't safe place to live actually because of the terror attacks and those teenager motorbike gangs who rob people and jewerly stores. I may be 19 years old and might not get good grades in school, but I've learned a lot from good people and I appreciate that what they have offered to me.
Andri Särev okay... England is not London. England is cold too hence why we are moving to a Tropical climate. Don’t base your terrors on mainstream media otherwise you’ll never come out from under your bed. I wonder what the temperature in Estonia is in December?
@@tinglestingles I didn't mention London at all. They are everywhere. Even in Manchester, Liverpool, Winchester etc. You name it. Criminals are expanding their territories everywhere in these days. Tell me if you would want to retire to Estonia.
Probably in 15 years?

If I speak Finnish and have a Finnish passport, is it a good place? It sounds like the culture is similar to Finnish culture.

Beautiful country, too damn cold most of the year.
For getting a job one should have work permit which is not possible in general for non EU citizens
Anyone having in mind to move to estonia let me know thanks,,,
I do. I heard it's a great country for digital nomads. I'm from the E.U., so moving and settling there won't be an issue.
No free lunches in Estonia bring plenty of your own money.
Not so expensive as Finland

@Unicorn Bertha. Thank you for your comment and giving your opinion of the pension system. I was curious, what would the pension be in Estonia?
