Hahaha! I resemble these remarks. 3:12 and totally concur. Oh and just a heads up, my buddy Rick is gonna be asking you some 410 questions.. I don’t have any experience to share with him so I told him to ask the Pro..
I load the 1 oz lee slugs in the old pt1205 wads over 22 of red dot in cheddite hulls fold or rolled. Minute of deer accuracy at 100 yards out of my 18 1/2” 870 improved cyl barrel. Just a fuzz bigger group sizes than i get with 1 oz super x slugs.
Way back when Taofledermaus tested the Lee slugs, and the 7/8 ounce were the only ones that had any accuracy. It seems to have done with the center of mass.
Interested in this one! Taufledermaus tested these years ago and they waggle so sometimes they’re not the most accurate. I have the 1 oz mold and have made a bunch of these
@ I actually thought about closing off the “key” part of the mold with clay or even drip aluminum in there to make it more nose heavy. Then the back would be completely hollow- I may try in my next batch of slugs that I mold
Here's an Idea. Fill the lee key drive with melted used wad plastic and quickly smash it on top of a green brush wad using a spent hull as a jig or maybe an old choke tube. Then load that like a botfly or sveroboy plumbata slug. What do you think? Love your channel fellas!
We’ve tried their Lee slug data and didn’t bother posting the video over a year back because they did pretty poor. We just stopped filming it and moved onto another video.
The center of mass on the 1oz Lee slugs is not ideal for smothered. The ⅞Oz Lee is proportioned much better. When getting started casting slugs I skipped the Lee and got lymans in 12 16 20 and the 12and 20 pellet slug molds. I've seen a few people either make and better base pin design or maybe try just doing a few solid. Been also playing with the idea of filling the slugs with hot glue. I'm also still working on my 32ga loads. Getting 1in or less 3 shot groups at 25 yards with 50cal maxi balls out of and really old mold. Using 24gr of little gun with no signs of pressure. Hunted the last three days of doe season but I did not get a shot I would be comfortable with. Will be taking it out next year for the early doe hunt.
8:53 right there with you Josh.. some of my all time favorites.
Sometimes things DO better with rifling!
@@taofledermaus I don’t think these are any good either way personally lol

Sure no problem man

It’s true yeah, not nose heavy enough.
Josh thanks for the plumbing tip.😅
Someone has to do it lol

They’re not balanced properly. Not enough weight in the nose.

I have that the 7/8 Lee key drive slugs were the only ones that are accurate.
Ck out BRO .
They’re definitely more accurate yeah
I wonder how these would fly with the Ballistic Rifling Tail attached?
@@702transplant6 had to be better
Ballistic products load of the week archived loads has several loads for the lee slugs also.

I wonder if you screwed it to the brush wad if it would help ? Kinda like the Russian slugs
That would be really hard to do. Maybe drill them. Replacement pins are out now to make the slug take a GSC 12 tail wad.
Oh No!! You didn’t just go there 10:07 and open that can of worms… why Josh.. why? lol
I can’t believe some people actually think otherwise lol
@@theshotgunscientists IKR!? lol
Just asking, you going try the new Marty's pin with the Goodell wad.
It’s on the list of things to try

What’s the diameter of the bullet man
Don't know what the deal is but all I'm getting is the audio and no video
Restart your device or redownload the UA-cam app
@theshotgunscientists thanks for the advice I don't know a damn thing about this smart phone
You're getting commercials, keep it up.
Yep we’ve been getting ads since the beginning of last year but not much money at all. Between $2 and $5 a video usually.
