Fan chants are a big part of kpop fan culture. It originates in Korea but international fans have picked it up. It usually involves chanting the members names, chanting only certain parts of the lyrics, or sometimes fans have different lyrics that's part of like a call and response. It's really special because if the audience is really hyped it's almost like everyone is performing together. Often groups will publish fan chants on social media when they release a new song, then everyone learns it ( often fans will translate it or make guides to help other fans) so even the very first time the song is performed on music shows everyone knows their part. Other times fans will make our own chants and spread them around, especially to lesser known songs. Fans will also do lots of surprise events and things for their groups like during a certain song chanting happy birthday to a member, handing out banners at concerts to spell out certain messages in the crowd, and after donating time or money to charity in their name. Kpop fans in general are very passionate and organized. Part of why BTS is doing so well is ARMYs are particularly internet savvy and organized and participate heavily in voting for different awards.
One of my favourite examples of fans making their own fan chants was during the BTS Wings tour: RM has a solo song called Reflection, with a line saying, "I wish I could love myself." The audience then screamed, "we love you!" I remember RM being so surprised the first time it happened, it was a great moment, for BTS and ARMY alike.
I really think fan chants is a good habit for fans. Not only bring everyone together, but also calm the fans down when they become toooooooooooooooo excited. When ppl become too excited they might lose their mind e.g. scream too long even get faint, fan chants will remind them to back to their mind (bc fans need to recall which part to chant, that make them rational) and avoid faint or something bad happened.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
Actually this is one of the videos where you can tell some of them were out of breath. Jimin and Jin started to have a hard time near the end(you were talking so I don’t think you heard). I enjoyed it because this whole performance, you can really hear them. Usually the backtrack is super loud.
Tram Nguyen Yes. All the members have great breath control but I think RM and JK have better breath control and are usually the most stable... even at their concerts.
Strong Power, Thank You, Namjoon I agree but I also think the rap line in general have great breath control. Jungkook also has amazing breath control. I think jimin struggled the most with singing but he always sounded really great when he moved a lot(like danger), which is weird since he should probably have more troubles with breath control if he’s moving more.
Tram Nguyen yeah I know what you mean. He sounded great live in concerts though! He probably had a rough day that day. Jimin is perfect! The rap line has great breath control dancing while rapping. Have you seen Tear live? OMFG!!! Girlllll..... all 3 are AMAZING🔥 They ate their CD!
Strong Power, Thank You, Namjoon Oh no I agree. They all have gotten MUCH better, even though their choreography is much harder. I literally die when I get up from bed. Its crazy how they sing so well while dancing that hard. That’s why I like performances like this. They are doing so well lately with their performances that even I am like... fuck... are they lip syncing?(even tho I know they are not). It reminds me that they are still human and lets me appreciate it more when they sound exactly like their cd. I think people think they are lip syncing cause they sound so good esp when dancing like that.
BTS worked 13 hours every day last 8 years!!!!!!!!!!! They practiced every day , They are started from bottom, from minus!!!!! from smallest company!!! They produced all their songs, rap !!!!
actually pretty much every kpop group has fanchants for their songs, it's part of the culture. Since there are so many music shows & so many live performances in general after a group has a comeback, it's a way for fans to be able to show support !
I have to say JIMMY FALLEN TOOK THEM SERIOUSLY RIGHT OFF THE BAT. He has always made them feel comfortable. He has never treated them like their just a temporary fad, that will pass and be forgotten. He sincerely likes them and wishes all the best for them. James Cordan has also interacted with them alot. After being treated so dismissively by so many other show hosts, even some from their own country, this means everything to them. And us ARMY their fanbase. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊
thank you for reacting to this! i love this perf because you can clearly tell its live usually the backtracks are loud but here its just right and the camerawork is so good.
Can you react to "I'm Fine" which performed right after this on the same show!? Honestly I love the song and the choreo even more than to "Idol." I think it represents their music a bit better too as it has more rap and you'll get to see choreo that tells a bit more of a story which is what I love from BTS.
I'm out of breath just from watching them perform 😂 and also for BTS songs there are things called fan chants where you sing at certain parts of the songs and sometimes at the beginning or end they (armys) all shout out their names.
They used to do 2-3 hours concert live and still dances insanely insync to every song, everytime and as you can see in their choreo are all extremely hard and tiring, so yeah, that explain their breath control.. Thank you so much for reacting to this 💙💚💛💜
BTS live performances are the best! I haven't seen one that I did not like! You should see their live performances from the award shows in Korea or Japan. Or even their comeback shows! If you think this was impressive, you haven't seen nothing yet. Korea's camera man is out of this world. The stage production, camera work, etc blows the US shows out the water. BTS kills it all the time! You should react to more BTS live performances!!
I just got back from NY this morning and still haven’t slept now I’m on my way to the State fair of Texas!!! I’m already missing my boys!!! Citi Fields concert was lit 🔥 it was 3 hours but felt like 30 mins😩💜💜💜 love you guys reactions!!!! 😘😘
They’re very devoted to their work and doing an amazing job and that goes for all kmusic groups and solo artists! Yeah, they’ve done this so many times they couldn’t forgot it even if they wanted to, they’ve had to remember 5+ years of dance routines for every single MV they’ve done!
They definitely are natural born performers. I went to their Love Yourself Tour in Chicago and all I can say is: DAMNNNNNNNNN... 2.5 hours of amazing performances. My husband who was with me (he's a fan of V/Taehyung's voice - he is very specific lol) said that it was more like a Vegas show than a normal concert.
@@AmbitiousAce616 Even something as small & as seemingly insignificant as having untied shoelaces during live performances appear to be, especially to us viewers. taehyung/v, the one with blonde hair and green jacket, his shoe laces got undone during the performance, all i could focus on the first time i watched it was about him not falling hahha. also please react to them performing im fine on jimmy fallon too :)
If you like their crazy in-sync choreography you should watch the mv for Dope and their dance practices for Danger and Bulletproof pt 2 it’s Insane 🤯🙏🏻
They even did another performance straight after this one! They did I’m Fine choreo! My favorite live performance of Idol so far is their performance on America’s Got Talent. If you thought this one was dope, their performance on AGT will blow you away. The stage was much bigger there so they had more room to work with
Natural born performers that work their butts off 24/7. Lol. No one out works BTS. I promise you. Thanks for your reaction! please react to some solo BTS likeAugust D or RM Joke. The group stuff is so polished and bright then the rappers hit you with some dark shit. You’ll love it.

I originally came to your channel to check out your BTS reactions, but through your channel I discovered PLT & they're freaking GREAT so I'd love it if you are doing any more reactions to them. As for BTS I'll keep out checking your reactions too 😂
This is the best televised performance they've had in the US. We're so thankful to the Tonight Show for not doing what other shows did and cut to the audience a bunch of times. When BTS are performing, why would even look away lol?
Re the fan chants.... after their first performance at the AMAs (2017) BTS did a vlive broadcast and thanked the fans.. They said they were really nervous backstage, then they heard the fan chants and that helped them so much and gave them the confidence they needed.
fan chant are often posted on the official fan cafe sites in Korea. Since fans and company work together. Companies often will post public events when the groups will be at the music shows and they post the fan chant to the fans who pay to be in the official fan cafe. Fans want everyone to know the fan chant so they will often spread the new fan chant for the new song. Since we are in the age of the internet it gets spread much faster.
My favourite choreo at this time is Im fine. They performed that also in Jimmy Fallon, maybe check that? And their interview in Grammy museum would be great to see!
in a way...the fan chants is to make sure BTS feels like home...they always say they feel comfort and better if they know fans are with them...you know they probably nervous because its not their hometown and performing to ppl that are NOT their fans...
Fanchants are amazing! Those are planned so that the chants really add to the song and make the crowd participate to the show, it is a interaction between bts and fans. There are videos that learn the chants!
The fans singing along is called a fan chant. Almost every song from every k-group has a fan chant. So it will not be a surprise to you as you see more live performances. Believe it or not but kpop large kpop fandoms (ARMY, Exo-L, NCTzens) have a very organized way of communicating. I personally think that the most organized way is through Twitter. Dedicated fans will partner up and make accounts such as ArmyUsa (ect.) They along with other international accounts communicate to their followers about things called fanchants and things like the purple ocean project.
I love you guys reaction. 🙏👍 So objective, & supportive. Please reacting BTS live cypher 3 ft. Supreme boy at their consert video guys. Thanks from Indonesian Army. I purple both of you 💜🙏💜

Guys, there is no such thing as breath control. They couldn’t dance and sig simultaneously without heavy breathing. You just don’t hear it because when it’s not their part their mics get turned low.
Yes thank you for reacting to our boys haha of course not, they’ve proven it several times they never lip sync during live performances, watch more of their 2017 performances where Suga purposely holds the mic down to prove to jealous haters and lip sync critics that they done lip sync during their live performances
I think they did an amazing job, considering they had to adjust to the small stage. That is something I have noticed about a lot of American shows that they appear on. The stages are so small that they have to squeeze into the space and adjust their choreography to the limited space. In comparison to South Korean and Japanese shows, the US is lacking. BTS always does their best though, and it really shows just how good and professional they are. 💜
actually they have fanchants for their whole songs. Their live performance is always 100% live and no lip syncing. There is one legendary performance by them in MAMA award show 2016 that is "fire and blood sweat and tears", so pls react to that live . here link for d live ua-cam.com/video/cbSy36fu6Pk/v-deo.html (fire live) ua-cam.com/video/Q_hQjxGSS7k/v-deo.html (blood sweat and tears live) this is really a great performance that u gonna like it for sure.

Woooooow I am a new army and really want to watch this idol performance, they look stunning and good camera angle too but it's nowhere to be found :/
Guys, there is no such thing as breath control. They couldn’t dance and sig simultaneously without heavy breathing. You just don’t hear it because when it’s not their part their mics get turned low.
Pls react to BTS Am Fine which they performed live on the same show
I just noticed tae's shoes were untied throughout half the performance anyways... great reaction!
Yes thank you for reacting to our boys haha of course not, they’ve proven it several times they never lip sync during live performances, watch more of their 2017 performances where Suga purposely holds the mic down to prove to jealous haters and lip sync critics that they done lip sync during their live performances
I'm fine too pls
"And their so in sync...that's hard to find in a group." Not dismissing my babies, but Seventeen anyone?
Please react to I'm Fine on Fallon too.
You guys should watch the BTS performances on korean award shows. It more dope
The nct comment, you guys know lmao. You should react to outro tear, ddaeng and the cyphers, is time for you to get into the rap part of bts!! :)
recommend BTS 'I'm fine '
jimmy fallon show
WATCH THEIR WHOLE PERFORMANCE AT THE MGA 2018
You have to check out bts airplane pt2 comeback show
I think they did an amazing job, considering they had to adjust to the small stage.
There is one legendary performance by them in MAMA award show 2016 that is "fire and blood sweat and tears", so pls react to that live . here link for d live
