Think of it as liking and glorifying an anime character that doesn't exist in real life. He is manned by real humans and real voice. Plus the other members are great, and must have worked so hard to debut. His voice is good and fits the group. SM stans are just mad that they beat SM into creating an AI Idol.
I think there is a real person who dances and sings, but they only show us the "robot". I saw some behind the scenes of the movie "Avatar", I'm assuming they do a similar work with him for animating his character

Surprisingly AI is more common in East Asia then we think it is. Saejin isn't the first nor the last of the AI model's/idols. That's how technology is tho, the more we get advanced the more things get replaced by it. And regardless someone is behind Saejin's voice and rigging. So who knows Saejin's human counterpart may be a trainee who wanted to be Anonymous.

When you can simp over anime characters because they're full-fledged characters and have their own story, what's so hard to understand Saejin and that he is an idol and a member of the group? I don't treat him as human (coz he is not) but a character who is not much different than human because characters indirectly reflect humans and their habits in some form. Thank you for this! I saw a post on twitter recently of someone talking about Saejin as their bias, and the qrts were so disrespectful and hurtful. I wish everyone followed the idea of if you don't like something, scroll past and don't pay attention to it. I'm so sick of these internet bullies who wouldn't be so tough if confronted irl. Anyway, I was really curious about the concept and how the AI worked, and this helped me understand! It's kind of upsetting if they don't get to perform the live stages though. A lot of groups I follow rave about how energized they feel with their fans cheering in front of them as they perform and I'd hate for the live members of this group to not experience that. I hope they figure out a way to do it!

This video is great the only problem is the term AI being used loosely. The actual term is Virtual idol. Ai is artificial intelligence so made by a computer. Virtual is like game characters or 3d models made by humans with digital tech.
I mean if they want to perform live, they've gotta up their budget by A LOT and invest on a hologram (like those on vocaloid concerts) that way, it can be doable somehow

I wouldn't say he's the first AI idol in Korea let alone in the world. Theres Apoki who is another AI idol. There's also from what I understand a singer called Alex from the late 90s. There's a Korean vocaloid called SeeU and she made her debut with the girl group GLAM(one of the members was her voice bank) on one of the year end show stages. Oh we can't forget about Video Game AIs as well K/DA, Seraphine, and True Damage Regarding AI though Western countries and people will find it odd were as AI models and Singers do exist and are being promoted. It's an interesting concept for sure.

I mean if they want to perform live, they've gotta up their budget by A LOT and invest on a hologram (like those on vocaloid concerts) that way, it can be doable somehow
we know theres an actual person behind saejin so its kinda weird to think about if you we're in their shoes. just imagine a bunch of people simping over AI you lol and like training to become an AI idol? huhh?
But do we know that there is one person that sing and dance? Because i wouldn't be surprised if it would be two different persons, one for singing and the other one for dancing, coz why not? And i doubt that even if it's one person it look like Saejin. So still no problem, coz most people go for his look and how realistic he is. And from what i heard person that gave voice don't want to be known,so it's not like someone is forced to this (i hope).

I personally don’t think it's cute to make fun of the group because the members (at least the 4 members) worked really hard to debut. they are such good dancers, singers and rappers and they are also studying english to communicate with fans. I don’t understand why people must make fun of things all the time
The thing about this is that the AI member is more than likely going to overshadow the other members. Like imagine going through so much vigorous training only to be outshined by an idol who isn't even real..

I think if the members were not ok w this they would have left before debut :)

...Being a trainee can put you into debt if you don't have lots of money. Which is why rookies don't make money until they pay back the company for their training and debut.
Trainees also don't learn the concept of their group _until_ they are getting ready to start everything needed in order to make it happen. By then it'd be pointless to back out. Because you'd go through all that hard work for nothing if you did.
The actual humans more than likely didn't know that they'd be stuck in a group with a digital being that is literally made to be 100% perfect in every way possible.
I don't see how you don't see how sad it is that a fake human has more stans than the rest of the members that are actually real. And how sad it is that simply because "Saejin" is in the group, the company is refraining from doing music shows.

There are groups that people insisted were best friends that were found to absolutely hate each other. Ones that would constantly get into physical fights even in the waiting rooms for music programs.

I wouldn't say he's the first AI idol in Korea let alone in the world. Theres Apoki who is another AI idol. There's also from what I understand a singer called Alex from the late 90s. There's a Korean vocaloid called SeeU and she made her debut with the girl group GLAM(one of the members was her voice bank) on one of the year end show stages. Oh we can't forget about Video Game AIs as well K/DA, Seraphine, and True Damage
Regarding AI though Western countries and people will find it odd were as AI models and Singers do exist and are being promoted. It's an interesting concept for sure.

I’m not hating at all but I feel like I’m inside a black mirror episode. If I’ll like any of their songs I would totally listen to it but I don’t think I can stan… I especially feel sorry for the human members since Saejin is getting all the attention.
P.S as an NCTzen I was furious when I saw Saejin’s teaser. I understand what you said about them giving credit and I guess it’s easier to use an existing clip to creat an AI (I think?) but it still makes me angry. Also they didn’t give credit specifically to NCT. It was copying, even if legally they did nothing wrong.
they only have 1 song for now lol I hope you'll like it ! also Saejin is not getting all of the attention at all, the fandom is really peaceful and great (it's the non fans who only give spotlight and talk only ab Saejin actually)
I heard it and it didn’t leave a big impression on me (maybe it will grow on me after more listens). And well I’m glad to hear that, because yesterday I watched their ‘Savage’ cover (the first time I watched them, it took me far too long to realize he’s an AI) and he was the center the whole time. Felt a little unfair. Anyway I wish the best for the group and the fandom, just hope they will make new teasers from now on…
