Yeah, Martin has also said their song Shiver was a Jeff Buckley rip off
Hey @MojoPin1983, you might want to check out what Grammy award winning Madison Cunningham says about Jeff Buckley: ua-cam.com/video/2zAJR8NIG18/v-deo.htmlsi=ClWymzj4tNGgXR_H&t=1036
it’s truly amazing to see how many people he’s inspired
Having known Jeff, he would have been very proud.
One of the very first albums I've ever heard was Parachutes (and I'm still thinking is so underrated). Years later, I've discovered Radiohead, and I was pretty sure they were an influence to Parachutes. What I didn't know back then was I had a key missing piece, and that was Jeff (I knew Jeff just ten years ago) and that's when everything made sense.
Actually Jeff influenced both Radiohead and Coldplay. Even if Radiohead also influenced Coldplay, Parachutes and many songs of the amazing old Coldplay has Jeff's spirit. You can't help remember Jeff when you hear songs (sublime songs) like "High Speed" or "A Rush of Blood to The Head".
I think it was the song Spies that Martin said they were trying to rip off Radiohead

@@Melophile74 Shiver
@@MojoPin1983 I thought Shiver was Jeff
@@Melophile74 Oh, sorry. I misread your comment. Somehow I completely overlooked that you mentioned Radiohead and thought you said Jeff. You are correct.
i was listening to jeff buckley's music for the first time and it reminded me sm of coldplay's early music, which led me to looking up this video. i knew i'd find them paying respects to mr. buckley
I just listened to "So Real" by Jeff Buckley, and I found Coldplay really was inspired by him, specially in Shiver.
@tneira Shiver is inspired by the song Grace.
Jeff 💖
This explain evething! The reason why is two first albums are the best. Thanks jeff!
Ah, now I see it. The way they did Shiver and Don’t Panic- the guitars and the beat..there was some of Jeff there
That’s why their first stuff was good!
Im pretty sure shiver has some of lover you shouldve had come over's chords
We wouldn’t have any alt rock band without Jeff. I mean that is just a pure fact. His sound and voice were straight from God himself and we can only imagine what he would have done.
ok, thats just silly.. Jeff came up WITH alt-rock, and does not pre-date alt-rock. Jeff is amazing, but come on....
🖤
Don't blame Jeff, it's not his fault and he can't answer back!
jeff was the king.
Fta
@Beff Juckley What does that mean? I’m not hip to your lingo.
@@MojoPin1983 for the algorithm
Sound like him? He can't sing a vowel right by belting a note , pop culture , a tragedy
You sound lovely
Everybody can feel inspired by JB but it doesn’t mean you sound slightly like him
@@chillyinchile he's definitely inspired by what Thom Yorke did in every record till Ok Computer and because Radiohead's Thom Yorke was inspired by Jeff Buckley it wouldn't be convenient for Chris Martin to say the one and only truth , that he copied everything that Radiohead did. The use of falsetto it's exactly the same way Thom Yorke does it. You see, a different approach on that subject made by Muse. While they have many elements and especially tone colors that remind you of Jeff Buckley and Radiohead they did it in a way that it's more unique than what Coldplay did.
I would say he probably meant instrumentally, not vocally. He may not be able to sing to your exacting vocal specifications, but Coldplay are playing stadiums, and they are alive.
@@dannainan they play stadiums and they sound dead .
