I looked on Google maps to see what this area looked like before. Most were small campers converted into homes and even a shipping container conversion. Many homes lost here as it was very densely populated. The before and after comparison is just crazy.

Resorts, hotels, star restaurants, shopping centers, markets, entertainment centers, bars, parks, lawns, the beauty of trees, plants and vines are all charred and melted. Business and industry have all come to a standstill. People have also evacuated the town. Henceforth, no matter how many billions the US government spends and rebuilds that city, it is doubtful whether people will be able to go to that city and live with the warmth of nature and its protection !!! Even if the lands and properties costing crores are now available for free, the people will no longer want to live there. They have seen the fury and terror of nature. A human being like a mosquito can't give any guarantee that something like this would not happen again in the future. 😮😢😮

However, if the next few days see a return to Santa Ana winds in the 50mph+ range then we could see a doubling of the total damage and possibly reaching $100B. I'm hopeful that the weather will not be as bad as it was on the 7th and 8th and that we've seen the worst.
Insurance industry cannot be ruled out as of this fire because they will make so much money. It will be ridiculous. When they jack up everyone’s fees for fire Insurance blood insurance and earthquake insurance in California you might have to just give them your right arm as a down payment.

Remember the fog a week prior, it contained flammable chemicals in it, and that's why the fog smelled like chemicals and didn't look like normal fog, and that's why pets died that were exposed to the fog. This mobile home park is becoming the iconic view of this natural disaster. But, the damage in Altadena appears to be every bit as bad. The total number of structures, mostly homes, that have been destroyed in these fires is beyond 10,000 and we are not over this and probably won't be for a few more days. By the time this is over the total number of structures destroyed might well top 20,000. There are some reports indicating the cost of that damage in Pacific Palisades alone at over $50B, but that doesn't add up as that would make the average cost of each structure at over $12M each -- the average home price there was apparently about $3.5M. So, I'd guess closer to $20B for the Palisades Fire. Probably about the same for the Eaton Fire and perhaps $10B for the other fires. So, I'd bet the $50B figure will be reasonably close to the costs, not for Pacific Palisades alone but for all the fires in the entire LA region. However, if the next few days see a return to Santa Ana winds in the 50mph+ range then we could see a doubling of the total damage and possibly reaching $100B. I'm hopeful that the weather will not be as bad as it was on the 7th and 8th and that we've seen the worst.
Insurance industry cannot be ruled out as of this fire because they will make so much money. It will be ridiculous. When they jack up everyone’s fees for fire Insurance blood insurance and earthquake insurance in California you might have to just give them your right arm as a down payment.

But, there is zero chance that the insurance industry will profit from this disaster as the damage costs are likely to exceed $50B with the insurance industry on the hook from most of that. It is for precisely these situations that we have insurance at all, I mean, if the insurance industry get's their way and are able to avoid all payments to policy holders after an event like this there is no reason for the insurance industry to even exist!
