Rewatching this video and its still absolutely INSANE how you managed to do all this, and also that redstone is just able to do this in general. I always forget how complicated it can get
Awesome video as always :D!
This is actually crazy. So much dedication and determination. Keep it up Rek!
As an IT technician, it was really fun to see rekrap learn how binary code works and such.
This whole thing reminded me a lot of assembly language programming
to me this feels very different from assembly, there are no registries/memory, no mov, no default commands like add or sub its closer to logic circuits that you would see in an intro to CS course, especially building your first adder and such fun memories
agreed, but as a coder
@@daniloR_O Yeah computational redstone is basically assembly with blocks lmao
@@gigabit6226no it’s not, its more like making a computer with transistors, you dont even get logic gates you have to make them yourself, this is far from assembly

It's amazing how you can make a seemingly boring idea, an interesting video! Keep of the great work ❤
The reason why it’s called a ‘bug’ when there’s a problem in a computer was actually because a moth flew in a computer (the ones that are the size of a room) and got smashed stoping something working. So the people who made it had so send someone in to crawl in the computer to figure out what happened.
That's only partially correct. A bug didn't fly into the computer, but got onto the punch cards used for programming at the time. This caused the machine to read a 1 where there should have been a 0, which caused an error.
this was one of the first computers btw

I’m a freshman in computer engineering, I found this video super interesting! Im taking a course which is an intro to digital logic (among a few other things), and I found it super cool how you basically learned and applied digital logic here. Massive respect for the division, floating point division is a pain (doing one problem takes me like 5 minutes).
This inspires me, I might boot up Minecraft and try designing an ALU (we already designed one for a homework assignment, but it would be fun to implement in Minecraft)
watching this as a programmer is so funny. I've made calculators, but I would have absolutely no clue how to do it in Minecraft (other than the basics of binary). Huge respect for learning this
I mean, at its core it's just digital logic. Redstone torches are NOT gates, redstone lines connected together are OR gates. From there you can make any gate.

I love how he builds a whole ass calculator to beat minecraft, and then proceeds to casually zero cycle the ender dragon as if it's nothing.

For the question of what videos to make for more frequency, I'll be honest most of the Minecraft creators I know that upload super regularly do SMP videos. For other ideas, maybe there's fun interesting stuff you could do with classic challenge maps (things like skygrid or falling falling) but updated to new versions for new objectives? That could be a good fit for your channel.
You could do collabs w/ other UA-camrs, challenge videos for example parkour or something, or maybe building videos if that is fun 4 u

I'm not just talking 1.14.2 multiple protection. I know there's a snapshot of 1.4 that lets you enchant literally anything with an anvil, and then some. I assume you'll probably research other ways to obtain enchantments on things you otherwise normally shouldn't have them on, over the course of Minecraft's history, there's been quite a few. I wonder just how many of them there are?

i thought u we’re just making a calculator but making one from scratch is taking things to anooooooother level! great job rekrap
6:30 as an amateur programmer I wanted to say the reason this works and with only four blocks is a Karnaugh Map.
Basically you make three columns like below. The first two are inputs, and the third is output.
A B /
0 0 X
0 1 X
1 0 X
1 1 X
Program the X’s as the values (0/1) that you need, then convert that into a K-Map like so. Let’s say our “X” row is 0, 1, 1, 0. You then would make a box like below, with the proper coordinate values. The corner is blank, so I’ll use a “/“. The values with quotation marks are coordinate values.
/ “0” “1”
“0” 0 1
“1” 1 0
With this, you then use logical operators to convert the above K-Map into a logical expression. I’m not going to go into that here, but the short answer to my example is that the output is 1 if and only if the operators are different, symbolized as -(A=B)
it is so crazy the amount of time and effort he puts into his videos

I'm currently taking Digital Fundamentals in college, after years of experience with low-level programming and computer science. I've tinkered with digital logic before, and I've also watched Ben Eater's videos on low-level computer programming and electrical engineering, and now that I'm studying things like adders, multiplexers, and so on in college I feel like I have a much deeper understanding of redstone circuits and the like. It's so interesting to see all these separate components come together to make a functioning computer. All the gates, adders, and other circuits come together to make this large and complex machine, a sign of incredible work!
You should make a scientific calculator next!! Great vid btw
