I live in Michigan. And when the big lakes get whitecaps, we’re very reluctant to go out on them. So I absolutely cannot understand why these people are heading out into an ocean that has whitecaps on it. What kind of enjoyment can you get out of bouncing around risking capsizing. I just don’t get it!
I’m a Michigander as well. Most of the boats on here I would only use on the inland lakes, I wouldn’t put the even in the Great Lakes. I’ve been out on days when I was sunny and calm, and within minutes be in 10’ swells on a forty footer, and know what it like understand God’s power.
Love to see the sweet boats and some goofball skippers at Haulover! On minor correction: The Four Winns factory is in Cadillac MI, not IN. Thanks for the sun & fun video!
Know this about pontoon boats. You can not sink them nor can you swamp them. Worst case is you'll get wet and/or lose some fencing but you're not going down.
I seen one split into two pieces right down the center about 15yrs ago. They were from Okeechobee and tried going out the Sebastian inlet on a ripping outgoing tide with a NE wind blowing against the tide. Idiots found out quickly about FAFO!
Only problem with taking a pontoon boat through waves like this is the stress on the supporting C channels between the tubes and the deck. They get bent from hard impact and result in the decking screws breaking..which allows water to come up through the deck.
lake Michigan is just a land locked ocean we got massive waves here the highest recorded were 23 feet. the lake is 922 feet deep. 311 miles long 118 miles wide the great lakes are not your typical little lake
Know this about pontoon boats: you cannot sink them, nor can you swamp them. The worst case is that you'll get wet and might lose some fencing, but you're not going down.
For the bow riders, they are nothing but an ice cream scoop, but for water. They are useless, a lot of these boats in video, don't even see on the great lakes. I am surprised there aren't more CC's on the great lakes, they are a great boat for fishing and handle well. We are looking at getting a Key West for using on Lake Superior
Pontoons and those boats that looked like a steam iron that these dudes launch scare me!!! 😳 The captains/skippers of these vessels scare me even more....🤡
I will NEVER understand why people would even think about bringing a pontoon boat through that inlet !!!! Or any inlet that goes into open ocean for that matter !!!!
I don't get why people take lake or bay boats out rough inlets, and most do not know what they are doing. Also, no life hackets on most boats, even the kids . 95% of people will be Exhausted and panic in under two minutes overboard
I've never launched at any of these treacherous inlets but it seems like the authorities would come up with some type of warning system to alert, or even prevent boaters from attempting to leave the inlet in extreme conditions, especially one of those Hurricane boats with a family of 9 aboard or obvious rookie captains, at least tell them no one allowed on the bow until the boat clears the inlet. Everyone's just standing on the jetty with their cameras waiting for the inevitable disaster to unfold, waverunners standing by knowing what's about to happen
So... it's pretty dangerous, looks like quite busy, so why are idiots going out through this in their bathtub toys and immediately turning right back around to run up against the outgoing tide? For fun?
You can usually tell if a captain{read: boat driver} is an idiot if they are in an overloaded pontoon or hurricane. trying to take one through haulover confirms it.
Lakes? Get real. I boat/fish on Lake Superior and it is no place for pontoons, walk-arounds or open bow boats. Look at any NOAA wave data and you will see that all waves are steep and intervals are fast. I used to work in a place where I would talk to a lot of Coast Guard people and it blew their minds the first time they were in a ten foot wave on Superior. You cannot jog, can't maneuver in a trough between peaks, you just pound.
Fantastic question! Why would anyone want to get in a boat that they get soaked while riding in? The idea of a boat is to stay DRY while out on the water.
@@truckcop1 Years ago rented a pontoon boat to go skin diving off of Key West. It was fun until everyone rushed forward to watch the dolphins and the deck swamped as the bow went under a wave. Lost a bunch of rental scuba gear. Took longer than expected to get back to the dock as the pontoon boat could not handle the tidal waves and current. Poor choice for the ocean.
Some of the boats are kind of small to be going out on the ocean, aren't they? Hey, what do I know? Lol. Great video.
Red top legend looking dapper as always.
Red Top is not close to “legend” status. The twins, Sofia and Ariana, still have that. Don’t see very much of Ariana these days.
Oh! The children are out playing with their toys again!
2:28 pontoons need to be in lakes. rivers, and coastal waterways. Taking them offshore is an undue risk.
Lake lamer screwed hiuse biat oat I n biats fed ship fir ka k e lanener
That old guy on the Montauk,is living his best life 🎉🎉
Pressed khakis and a starched, button-down shirt. The Frank Sinatra of the waterways. He did it his way.
@@grandmasmalibu It’s the old “I’m going to work now.” Outfit
Yeah, caused a vessel with right-of-way to veer off and sound warning.
ABSOLUTELY. GREAT VIDIOS
Salt, sharks. I'll take the lakes.
Open bow, open cockpit, Puget sound okay. Haulover inlet you crazy.
Great video as always. Minor correction, the Boston Whaler factory is in Edgewater FL, not Largo.
Thanks for the info! We’ll correct for the next ones. Thanks for watching!
Wrong new. Fatorey. Second play Florida key large. Around k Kokomo island
Also Boston Whaler was founded in 1958 not 1980.
Wow Crazy how some people are so unsafe.

The sea is calm once you get away from the inlet, look at the boats in the background.
When you watch these videos look way out past the inlet. The ocean is almost glass calm it's just the inlet you have to get through
My my hhijfr@@samuelfloate1715
Saltwater life, I've been out in hurricanes. I wouldn't recommend it but have seen plenty of green water over the bow and up to the windshield.
The Pontoon captain is an absolute master!
He almost swamped.
🤣🤣🤣😍😍🤩👍👍👍
Fun stuff!
These prove one thing.. that most folks don't know how to drive a boat in anything other than pond-like conditions.
Sir, please don't call a pontoon a boat, they float, but in NO Way do they compare to a hulled boat. Captain Keith, Tight Lines
lovin that Regal at 3:00 .. recorded 2.61K today

If you hug the nort jetty you avoid those swells we use to water ski thru haulover
That's right g t

No boat is unsinkable my friend. Have a good one. 👍

i was under the impression that Floria has lakes and river everywhere
Open bow boats + outgoing tide = Call the Coast Guard.
Bowfillers!
Best Haulover Video title ever. 😂😂😂
I thought there was a website that showed the conditions of the waves, so people could plan ahead.
In Miami, planning ahead seems to involve packing enough booze and Gold diggers for the trip.
Yeah, there’s always NOAA on marine radios but who uses them anymore?
Master cgef lanes has Bahamas. Or four I da keys kokmo sait sailing is k ains Kong say trip
We don't have lakes but imma buy a boat built for lakes anyways
lake Michigan is just a land locked ocean we got massive waves here the highest recorded were 23 feet. the lake is 922 feet deep. 311 miles long 118 miles wide the great lakes are not your typical little lake
Are the waters ever calm in there? I get seasick just watching this. LOL
If you look at the places that sell pontoon boat here is Aus they recommend suitable for calm conditions only
somebody knows the specific type of the boat at 5:35?
Chaparral 264 Sunesta Surf/ 26'
Can someone explain to me where these people are going?
The Atlantic Ocean
To their doom if they keep up like this.
Apparently no one knows.
That pontoon it just boss out there.
Superrr wow bravooo
Mr. Rogers in the Boston Whaler was holding it down tho. 9:50
Shirt tucked in like a upper case G
It was a calm day.
Crazy how some people are so unsafe.
Lake Okeechobee? 🐊
Know this about pontoon boats: you cannot sink them, nor can you swamp them. The worst case is that you'll get wet and might lose some fencing, but you're not going down.
What the point is it running back and forth in the inlet?
To get video of your boat to show people
Do skippers not know how to trim a boat?
Many do not!
My exact thoughts…get that bow up 🧐
For the bow riders, they are nothing but an ice cream scoop, but for water. They are useless, a lot of these boats in video, don't even see on the great lakes.

boston whalers are bullet proof!!!!!! the small ones always dominate
Wrong bir whaler cruser yaghts conqwest
Pontoon boats are like tools. Just because you could use it for something else doesn't mean you should.
Sometimes it seems that the resources required to buy a boat are inverse to the skills the individual has to operate it safely
You can bet 90 percent are on credit.
Four Winns made in Cadillac Michigan, not Indiana.
Oh boy, putting that Scum tracker to the test! 😅
Unbelievable that kids are sitting up in the bow and not wearing life jackets 😩
Pontoon boats don’t belong in open ocean. Surprised the pontoons themselves didn’t break off.
Why does the coast guard even allow pontoon boats there ????
Some vessels are not designed for this and should be barred from use in certain waters
sarasota tim.
I will NEVER understand why people would even think about bringing a pontoon boat through that inlet !!!! Or any inlet that goes into open ocean for that matter !!!!
This inlet is considered one of the most dangerous in the world! 😮

why are the boats doing U turns and coming back in straight away? Would you want to get out past the breakers and enjoy the day out on the sea?
Capitaine ponton need burritos 😂😂😂

Because people are supposed to be accountable for themselves and responsible without needing a nanny.

Pontoons and bow riders don't belong in those conditions! And all kids should wear life jackets !
Wrong goid bow riders ony
Just because it’s a bow rider doesn’t mean you have to sit up there.
Funny thing is pontoon captain did a better job that a lot of the dummy’s that make this channel so popular
You can usually tell if a captain{read: boat driver} is an idiot if they are in an overloaded pontoon or hurricane. trying to take one through haulover confirms it.
Half of these people have no clue what they are doing!
Half? That's great! I thought it was two-thirds 😂
Lakes?
Get real.

Scarb. Yamha jet biat did best great caoti I n jet boats
Why do people there waste their money on little boats? Where are they going when they leave the outlet??
Fantastic question! Why would anyone want to get in a boat that they get soaked while riding in? The idea of a boat is to stay DRY while out on the water.
My question as well. Why would you take a pontoon lake putterer out into the Atlantic Ocean?
They're hoping for smaller waves, the inlet isn't always that choppy. People don't film the calm days.
I thought you were being a snob until I got to 11:33 😂😂😂

People actually pay money for one of those? You would be laughed off the boat ramp in my country.
You mean the pontoon boat? I'm not American, but I assumed they are rented for the day. And for enclosed water use.
everyone knows pontoon boats are lake boats
Says who ?
Boating 101 - Don’t ride around with your fenders out - shows you are a poser.
Is there a law in this state that does not allow you to wear a flotation device ?
Pontoons: the mini-vans of water bourne craft. Both equally useless.
LOL. you're wrong, but it's still kind of funny. Pontoons are awesome in the right situations. Haulover is not that situation.
My minivan hauls more people and gets better mileage than what you probable drive.
Everybody hates on the minivans until you own one...
Nother wring with mini vans new one hybred ektruc drive from emsion
Pontoon Boats are bashed by stupid people. I do not have on in the water, but we are building one. And it will be record setting!!!
I did it. Can't wait to see this.
These "GENIUSES" can buy guns, drive on the same roads as us, PROCREATE, AND VOTE🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
