    Good lord it’s crazy what you can achieve with Element 3D and a little bit of knowledge

    • @williamcousert
      @williamcousert Рік тому +2

      Is Element 3D still worth buying today? It hasn't been updated in years.

    • @ImaginationFolder
      @ImaginationFolder Рік тому +3

      @@williamcousert I think they update it for every new version of AE, but I think you’re right about the update as in no new features.
      I guess I’d say it depends on what you’re wanting to do. Blender is free, but it’s also way more complicated. I think Element is a great way to get familiar with 3D. Plus it makes it very easy to implement into your scene considering it goes directly with AE. I like it a lot, but I also don’t use it extremely often. Following Andrew Kramer’s tutorials as well as Film Riot’s on how to use it will really open your eyes to the program and what is achievable with it.
      You can get great results with it! I’d say yes it’s worth it, but of course it’s only worth it if you use it 🙂

    I'm so glad that over a decade later, we still get the turbulent displacement song and dance lol. You'd think it would be old by now, but here I am still laughing every time Ryan says it because I know what's coming next. This video was awesome of course, I keep putting off getting element because I feel like it's been out so long that it must be too dated to bother, but Film Riot always comes along and proves me wrong haha.....but seriously though.... When are we getting Intercept?

    • @christophermwila3105
      @christophermwila3105 Рік тому +1

      True that. The turbulence displacement song never gets old 😂.

      Agree with you on absolutely all points! I thought that Intercept is mostly forgotten but I am also waiting for it. Do we have to wait for the 10th anniversary of... waiting... to finally get it? Wouldn't be too far fetched now! Intercept 2025? Huh?

    I love you guys. I have literally learned all technical aspects of filmmaking from you guys and couple other amazing channels. Thank you for sharing and teaching these techniques. FYI I am 51 years old and picked up a video camera for the first time in 2017. I made my first short at 48. and my first feature in 2020 and it is on amazon prime. (also made it into a few festivals) I thought you guys may want to know what an impact you have had on my life. Thank you again and I am looking forward to continuing this journey.

    • @williamcousert

      Is Element 3D still worth buying today? It hasn't been updated in years.

    • @whitekraw
      @whitekraw Рік тому +1

      @@williamcousert If you're planning to use it often. Then yes. Most of the time I can get away with element 3D, rather than going to a 3D software, rendering for a few hours, and getting back to after effects. Specially for motion graphic stuff.
      Also, every other compositing software can integrate 3D models in production. (Nuke) But Element 3D is the only proper way for After Effects. (as far as I know) I've seen some plugins, and still you can import 3D models with native cineware support, but still, Element 3D is faster, stable and easier to understand since there are many tutorials available. So the short answer is definitely a Yes for me.
