This video actually gets the facts wrong. Hermione requested the time turner, it was not just offered to her because she requested to take more classes than her schedule allowed. It was worked out with McGonagall ahead of time. Hermione had already been approved for her schedule and the time turner before Black escaped, so Fudge had no hand in granting her the time turner.
We know this because they had all received their letters with their course schedule and supply requirements before Black escaped Azkaban.
In fact Fudge had absolutely no knowledge that she had it because he was just as confused as everyone else how Black escaped. While the use of a time turner does require Ministry approval, it does not require Fudge's input or approval.
Hermione would had been thrown in Azkaban herself had Fudge or the Ministry known of her actions in saving Sirius and Bucbeak

Well. No a good excuse here.... Hermione even says that she got the Time-Tumer from McGonagall.
The only reason in canon she got the time turner was cause of her studies. Dumbledore did not nor could not predict anything.
Hermione did not get the time turner until her first day at Hogwarts year 3. Nothing to do with Sirius or Harry just her studies
I agree. And I have always wondered to myself if she took on so many classes because she could and be super smart, or if she knew in the back of her mind that if she was staying friends with those 2 boys she would need all the knowledge she could get 😂
Hermione spoke with Professor McGonagall to figure out a way to take all of the classes that she wanted to. Professor McGonagall wrote many letters to the ministry of magic with regards to Hermione’s good and honest character. In the book, at the end of POA, Snape makes the accusation that Harry Potter freed Sirius Black. If Fudge is actually aware of Hermione possessing the time turner, after hearing Snape’s accusations, why doesn’t Fudge say anything?
Why would someone so intelligent sign up for more classes than she can attend before having any idea that it would be considered to give her a time turner?
She could've asked McGonagall for advice because she didn't want to drop any classes, and things spiraled from there.

If you read the book she actually requested the time turner. It was something she discussed with McGonagall directly. They didn't just randomly offer it to her.

they didnt get their timetables before starting 3rd year so before it started she had no idea that some of those classes would be happening at the same time. thats also why mcgonagall took hermione instantly the year 3 started and explained it to her. my understanding is that hermione didnt really ask for time turner but mcgonagall knowing how smart she is she applied for it before it was even an option for hermione cause she knew that when she suggest to hermione dropping some classes her reaction would be "is there any way i could attend all of them?"
The way time turners work in The Prisoner of Azkaban, noone would have been able to save Harry once he got killed. Because different to the one in The Cursed Child, they couldn't realy change the past, The Prisoner of Azkaban runs with the idea of time as a continuum. Everything Harry and Hermione "change" in the past has already happened when they run through that moment the first time. They already feel the effects of their later time travel.
They did save Buckbeak after he got executed so why wouldn't this work for Harry?
@@einflinkeswiesel2695 He never got executed. They never actually saw him dead. They just heard the sound of the axe and assumed it was buckbeak, but later they found out that the executioner had smashed his axe into a pumpkin in frustration.
In the prosoner of azkaban, the timeline never got changed, Harry and Hermione existed two times at once.
In Cursed Child on the other hand you have multiple different timelines with obvious differences. That's a completly different concept.

Although this time turner thing is interesting and a fun little story and fits prisoner of Azkaban. time magic, or a device so powerful controlled by the ministry of magic is silly. How would voldemort not have dosens of these things, as it sounds like there are more. If not in the first Wizarding war. Then in the second Wizarding war, when he takes over after bartimus crouch is killed.

Because in the Harry Potter universe they use the theory of time travel, that you can't really change things, as all the events that happen because of your time travel, did already happen when you time travel. Wich also voids the theory in the video, as if someone has died and you travel back, you can't actually prevent their death, as you don't really change the past, but just make things happen as they already did, or contribute nothing at all. At least that is how it is presented in the 3rd book.

@@cursedimageseveryday5559 Sorry, I explained my though wrongly. The minister want to catch dangerous killer Sirius Black. They have access to time machines. You could argue that those time machine work in a predetermined way, but, it would still mean that whenever Sirius is seen somewhere, an Auror with a time turner should go there, use the spell that make them transparent, and wait to tail him. The minister refused to do that and instead gave the time machine to a girl that wanted to attend all subject.
Wow you must really be a fun person…even at 30, 50, 80 the Harry Potter series will be magical. These days imagination has died. I would know, im a teacher. All you see is the kids on their phones, watching tiktoks and not appreciating stories. Your 12 year old self was much better off, because then you had internal happiness. Luckily one can choose to be happy and doesn’t need to wait for others to make you happy. I like my choices. We all need to escape lifes trails and tribulations. And for many, myself included its through the magical world of Harry Potter.
Time turners have very specific rules and limitations in the books. First off, they only go back 5 hours before they start messing up the time continuum, second you can only go back and do things you had already done but didn't know you had done (hence the movie showing the trio making assumptions based on sounds etc (for example when they think Buckbeak is dead, they have actually already saved him, the "executioner" assaulted a pumkin in anger), and this is also why you can't let yourself be seen by any means. But the biggest problem with this video: you think FUDGE would work with DUMBLEDORE on this?! What have you been smoking?! 😅

What I want to know is why no one used a time turner during The Deathly Hollows part 2 when Hogwarts was being attacked! No time turners! No liquid luck! The other schools don't bother to come to help defend. I swear, each book has its own self-contained story when this is supposed to be a serialized movie series.

Rereading the info about timeturners - wouldn't this whole year have prematurely aged Hermione as she's repeating hours?
Well, it was like two classes. So 90min per class, 3h a week. And she quit one of them halfway through the Term. But lets count both classes for the whole year. Like 40weeks? So 120h. 5 days. Yeah, she aged roughly 5days more. Even if she had those classes two times per week (i dont think so), it would be 10days.

So. Two. They dont have that many classes. When they get their OWLs Harry has nine classes, Hermine ten. They have eight together, Harry plus Divination, Hermione plus Arithmancy and Ancient Runes.
And she didn't use the Time-Turner for studying and essays. It's well known she was always studying, without a free minute. She was only allowed to use it for the classes.
The thing is they dont go back to "fix" time. If you notice everything they did with the time turner, was already experienced by them. buckbeak never died, they just heard a thud, assuming the worst as they ran into the woods. So if Harry died, she wouldnt be able to fo back and change it.

Can you explain that where is the time turner in the rest of the parts ,if it was with Hermione why she doesn't used it or where is the time turner at 7th or 8th book ,if she used it the war would ended up easily know😅
She handed it back at the end of the third book. She used it multiple times in the POA, all are revealed at the last few chapters of the book.
Even if she wanted to change time in the 7th book she can’t, we can clearly see that time is linear and you can’t actually change a thing. When Harry saw himself cast the patronus and thought it was his dad, he went up and cast it himself when realizing that his dad wasn’t going to show up when watching the exact same scene from that spot. Even if he had no intention of doing that, he still did because time dictated that it had to happen. Time dictates that everything bad that happened to the trio during the series had to happen and the third book proves that you can’t actually alter time
So............if they used the time turner to aid in keeping Harry safe, then why didnt they let her keep it indefinitely until the threat was over or let Dumbledore have one indefinitely?

Hermione didn't need the time turner in her first 2 years at Hogwarts so there was no need for her to have it. Reread POA because when they get inside of Hogwarts Professor Mcgonagall takes Hermione to her office. She took Hermione to give her the time turner. I believe she also took Harry because Sirius was on the loose and warned Harry about Sirius possibly coming after him if I remember correctly.
Not gonna lie this feels incredibly strained, i just assumed mcgonagle or something gave it to her to allow her to do these classes
Nah she got the time turner because of her studies. IMO the teachers wanted to knock her down a peg by showing her that even if she could magically find the time to take all the classes she couldn’t handle the workload of taking all the classes.

Except that people who use the time Turner are not allowed to change anything. So if he dies, then he’s dead. It was mentioned briefly that something bad had happened to the last wizard who tried to alter time.
One could argue that a time turner doesn't allow you to save a person that actually died: you only get more time and the ability to be in multiple places at the same time. There is only one timeline, that you get to experience from multiple points of view.

In the book it is stated that Hermione specially requested McGonagall for the Time Turner before Sirius broke out and yes I have read the books and watched the movies so and at the end Dumbledore tells her to go back in time and save Buckbeak and Sirius

During half blood prince Hagrid asked the trio why they didn’t take care of magical creatures for their N.E.W.Ts despite having the grades (they didn’t because despite the fact that they love Hagrid, they hated his classes as he had a tendency for horrible and/or dangerous creatures), when Hermione said they had no time with all their classes being way harder than ever and new responsibilities as prefects (for her and Ron) and Quiditch captain (for Harry) Hagrid asks why didn’t they ask for time turners, which was because they destroyed all of them, but Hagrid question means that an student could apply to borrow a time turner if they wished to take more classes.
The only other wizard to have one of those time Turner's was Malfoys mother Narcissa

This video ignores the way time travel works in the Harry Potter universe.
The “lives saved” were already saved the first time because they had gone back in time. So to save Harry Potters life, Hermione will have already gone back to save him, meaning he never died in the first place, creating a time paradox of her not needing to go back in time to do it.
So what about in the real world? Does no truant officer notice these kids gone for so long? Or is there a spell put in muggles to not notice them missing?

This part of the story has such a hole in its plot..
The real question is- were the other students who overloaded their class schedules also offered time turners? We know that Percy got 14 OWLs, which means he tested for every class. We have no idea whether or not he actually attended all those classes. Did he have a time turner?

The only problem is, you can’t use Time Turners to save people from actually dying. As clearly demonstrated by when Harry saved himself from the Dementors, if he’d actually been killed in his sleep by Sirius, there’d be nothing Hermione could do. The time rules wouldn’t allow it.

@@samu6874No, you can’t. In Harry Potter, time travel is very restricted. If you go back, you can’t go forward, you also age as long as you go back, but the most important rule is that everything follows time’s linear path. If someone saw a bank being robbed one day and then used a time turner to go back to that day and rob that same bank at that same time, they wouldn’t meet the robber there because they are the same robber. Time dictates what happens so if you go back and try and change something, you won’t actually change anything because whatever you do in the past has already happened, you’re just finally living it out. Hopefully that clears it up, I’ll admit I was starting to get a little confused while trying to explain it
Edit: In universe example. In the movie as the trio leave Hagrid’s hut they hear a stick snapping behind them, a little later we see Hermione step on that branch the exact moment that the trio heard it and turned to look. I don’t know if that moment is in the book because I just don’t remember, but it doesn’t matter because time turners work the same way in both mediums. Point is, Hermione didn’t change anything because she already heard it earlier, she just knows now that she heard herself

I’m sure if you read the books this video is wrong, but I just watched this movie three days ago and this isn’t even right in the movie version😂. In the movie Hermione says she received one in her first year, and that she’s used it ever since.
If this guy was correct, that would mean Dumbledore somehow predicted that Hermione would be a great asset and hero, so he gave an 11 y/o the power of time travel on a hunch 💀

Sure is a damn pity that Hermione is never seen using the Time Turner after Prisoner of Azkaban. She could've used the Time Turner to prevent the return of Voldemort, or saved the save the lives of those who were killed during the Second Great Wizarding War. But nah. Let's just forget one of the most powerful items in the Wizarding World.

Please stop making up harry potter theories. There is no room for speculation, not one big plot point has unanswered questions, its all spelled out. When the answer doesn’t satisfy you, maybe its because its not as well written as we want it to be. But there isn’t a big mystery behind everything illogical. Why would it though? Why hide it, when you could have the reveal as part of the story? Makes no sense.
Maybe start questioning things like: ok hermione has to get time turner, because she was attending ALL classes. But what if any other student, e.g. choose fortune telling and muggel studies, wich were given at the same time? You could easily get a problem with the time table, without having to choose ALL classes, Like Hermione. So here it already starts to not make sense, except they’re all getting time turners. Wonder how many alterier motives there where, how many more innocens where saved, every year, just because some students chose the right combination of school subjects ^^
