Because of you and your videos I did my 86 chevette a year ago and it held up so well . Like I was rear ended last Christmas and my bumper got pushed in like 3 inches but didn't even scratch the liner

Honestly i think this is the best route to take for a first D.I.Y project even if you do mess up in some small spots it's not really easy to see where as sanding a car and trying to get a smooth finish is harder for a beginner it'll save you money, save you time and sets your car apart from others I plan on doing this to my mustang in destroyer gray with gloss black grill and rims maybe i'll do gloss black emblems or de-badge the car completely 🧑🏽🏭
lol my civic needs painting. i always thought it would be a little weird on a car but always wanted to do it. i acually like the matte finish and the way it looks in the sun is cool! i might have to do this

I'm a Painter and the only time you use 80 is when you're removing a lot of product for body work or a proper repaint because it leaves very defined scratches and it's normally reserved for stripping purposes

If you want to repaint the car after you've bedlined it, how would you recommend doing that? Can you sand down the bedliner and then add a new coat? I feel like adding a new color of bedliner over top of existing bedliner would make it super thick.
If you bedline the vehicle and wanna change it and you scuff the bedliner and shoot normal paint over it and it holds. I did a video on it and it’s not super thick either.

Evan M you would have to do a lot of sanding for that to happen unfortunately
I don't like texture to be honest, but one HUGE advantage to texture and why it's used a lot in houses with knockdown texture, popcorn, etc, is it hides imperfections. So I could see it used for something like a truck where you'd not want to devote massive amounts of time to perfectly knocked down body work, or anything sort of similar to that. You could get the body work "good enough" and then texture over it. Again, not my taste, but it looks good for not being my taste (if that makes sense) and I think personally it's your best textured job so far.

@@JamesDguy The textured interior on another Civic you did actually ended up looking great, though. Really considering it if I need to restore a dash, since matching factory texture is about impossible.

I’m from Arlington Texas and I have my front and rear bumper rhino lined black. I like the look. May go a two tone. Bottom half a custom color liner with a top gloss color.
What about cleaning. Does dirt cake into it or is it still smooth enough to wipe clean during a wash. Remember way back when spray in liners looked great then dirt sat in and nvr could get it back nice again. Saw 1 guy line outside if his 4x4 but spray painted over liner to give it a smooth finish so it would clean
I plan on doing my ‘04 Taurus Wagon with Raptor this winter.
For color consistency: One could. First pour the color in the raptor, then rinse the color bottle with the hardener, then into the big bottle.

A good tip to anyone looking to use a bed-liner on their vehicles (or any paint for that matter). If you overspray onto an area you don't want the spray, such as mirrors, windows, etc. you can use paint thinner, pour it on a microfiber towel, and wipe at the area. It works really well. Do this while the paint is still tacky.
Acetone works even better and less damaging to the paint..but yes while still drying best.
It’s interesting how far back you stand when spraying. I’m imagining that this might work well for applying a textured coating evenly.

Love that color! Thanks for showing the mix of the Raptor. For some reason, some people can't get all the hardener and tint in the bottle. Not sure why, but you show it is possible.

As long as its not in the direct sunlight or raining it should be fine. I have done some of these raptor jobs outside.

That looks TRICK HOT!! I have a Hyundai Getz I’m turboing and I’m looking at painting it a yellow/golden metallic raptor liner with a two tone with satin black roof/tail gate and bonnet with black wheels. I also love to paint things ☺️

What if you did a video on doing a roll on rustoleum bed liner with rustoleum 2x paint over it? How would the results be you think?
You used 3 liters, I used 2 gallons on mine. That is the difference in having a base coat of paint compared to a sand to metal then prime first I suppose. I'll have to try that method on my other car I am about to do. Thanks for the tip.
Yes having the base color helps A LOT! On my orange bed line civic i did it had a grey base coat and i went crush orange and it took 6-8 litres to do. I strongly recommend doing a base coat of paint before the bedliner or just buy a lot of bed liner and tint but its cheaper to do a base color then the bed liner.
I didn’t know you can personally tint raptor liner to your liking🤯. What color and where did you get from to color match? I wanna do my f250 that color
@@erikfickett4365 You can buy tintable Raptor and just add color. You can also find many tintable color combos on amazon.

After sanding, was there any subsequent paint peeling? Have you ever had any problems?
How does Raptor Liner compare to rustoleum bedliner, other rattle car bedliner, Herculiner, or LineX, etc. I also didn't realize that other colors besides basic black were available.
I'm not the OP but after considerable research, Raptor is specializing in this idea of painting the whole car and their kits make is super easy. The tintable version can take up to 3oz for each liter and you can pretty much use any color, metallic or even pearl. It just has to be either a base coat, or tint with no binders or fillers. Your local auto body shop will be able to tell you where you can get it mixed up.

@catchicsupply it's pretty easy,take off anything you can like headlights taillights,markers,wipers, I opened up my doors and took off rubber carefully and masked around where rubber was and did the door jams,looks factory when you take your time,I painted my truck 4 years ago and still looks great,no fading and texture still looks awesome 👌

Raptor makes a 1K spray can of black bedliner. Ya may wanna try it out on your trim of your next car. Its the best 1k spray bedliner ive used so far.

Hey man. From Elmo Texas here. Im currently prepping over my Lancer ES to spray it. Even though i work at a paint store i still want your opinion cause your method is tried and true. Im using the 2X rustolem blue high gloss but i want the paint to last. Do i put the 2K clear over it after or should just not do anything since its high gloss. Its hard to find on your channel cause you dont do very many high gloss paints other than the red em civic but there was any 2K you mentioned it but didnt do it. Any tips?
If you want it to last a long time you need the 2k clear over the 2x paint. Then wet sand and buff after a few days of the 2K clear being dried. I have a video of the pink CRV wet sanding makes a HUGE difference.
