Definitely need a budget burger part 2. I could suggest Junior's; Mrs. Mike's, Red Top and Dairy Whip in St. Boniface; Burger Factory on Nairn; North Star Drive Inn, Angelo's and White Top in the North End; St. James Burger & Chips in St. James, and the one and only Nick's Inn in Headingly (totally worth the drive).
Gotta add: Super Boy's Johnny's Marion Restaurant Dairi-Wip Drive-In Red Top North Star Drive-In "Original" George's Burgers and Subs (St. Mary's, McPhillips, etc.) Lotta options. I guess you can only eat so many burgers in a day. Hearing "possibly the best burger I've had all day" in a sentence is pretty hilarious.
Zax Drive Inn on Henderson hwy has good burgers and great fries imo for those in the North/East Kildonan area. Menu has plenty of options for those who don't want a burger as well. Great chicken strips with honey dill sauce & onion rings. Prices are similar, $8.45 for a burger, $4.90 for fries but you get a good amount. It's "budget" for what you get compared to any fastfood burger chain & better.
I don't disagree with the Burger Place, however you need to try George's on St.Mary's Road, the Burger Factory on Nairin, Superboys on Main St., Dairi-Whip on Marion, Zaxx on Henderson, any Sals Nip and last but not least Juniors on St. Mary's Road.

Upon watching your video, my wife and I just went to The Burger Place at North Main and the Perimeter! It was fantastic! Cannot recommend it more. Plus that price! And they’ve also done a great job on the decor.
I worked for Brinks back in the early 90’s. Brinks are (still) located in the back alley right behind this wonderful institution. I used to love going in there after my shift. Their burgers were fantastic, and the box of fries with some salt and a few splashes of vinegar was a great way to end my day. If I ever go back to the ‘Peg, I’m definitely stopping by VJ’s.
Loved VJ's. Used to slip out working evenings downtown and cut up a block to get thier burger. However it's gotten pricey and unfortunately for the second year in a row I asked for no onions. They repeated the order and yet raw onion on my burger. I can not stand raw onion. It changes the flavour of the burger. At $14 for the double special I can get rotten Ronnie's to serve a burger without onions. Cindy's is a go to. Price's are very reasonable and the burgers and the foot long hot dogs are great. They will fry up onions on request and that carmalised flavour is top notch. If you want to compare try the burger thing across the street. Blech and yet costs more! Favourite burger, best in town was The Master Burger at the Thunderbird on McPhillips but when John cooked it himself. Wow. John Ginakes opened the restaurant in 1957 if I was told correctly. Awesome! What places have you tried so far? Any worth checking out?
@@paulplettOn Regent I recently did Georges Fatboy with chilly meal, so it was $22, burger was probably $12, ok taste but the Chili was just a salted meet paste.
Then Dairy Queen Flamer 3 patties,, very meaty, $13, so small tho, won't be back.
Wayback burger was very tasty but every other patty was still red. $12
Dal,s burger was very very good, chili too, meal was 25$ so about $14 for a double fatboy
Next will be dary whip
Great to know! I hope Dairi Whip was good!
New York Burgers if you're on a budget just look at their menu
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve got to check that place out!
@@paulplett 100%. 7.45 for a double fatboy. Their double bacon cheeseburger is killer too.
I find these burger places can be so much better if they used a better quality bun. Most or dry and fall apart. I just make smash burgers at home or splurge on a bigger one here and there (529 Wellington and Nola are great).
Thanks for sharing!
Georges burger on regent
I’ve never been to that one! I’ve got to check it out!
That was a good video
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!
Best budget burgers: ‘Make it yourself’ 😀

@@paulplettits good to go get burgers from fast food once in awhile 👍
Super Boys' for the win Paul!
How do you do burgers in Winnipeg and not hit up Superboy's?
😂🤣 gotta hit them up next time! 😉
So where are the budget berger places? Just curious. You got up to over 10 bucks quick.
That’s true. Burger’s aren’t as cheap as they used to be! 😉
@@paulplettYes. But just a burger 🍔. For 8, or 9, I'm thinking cheap, but some fries?
Fun fact about VJ's, the place nextdoor had 2 people murdered inside! 😅
😬
You mean at johhny Gs
Super Boy's on Main has to be one of my Favorite Burgers in Winnipeg. You gotta do another one of these and try that one. And a Winnipeg Burger review of Fatboys aint a review without Juniors. Im not a massive fan of Juniors but thats just a Winnipeg Staple imo.
Great suggestions! There are so many amazing burger places in Winnipeg worth trying! 🍔❤️
Great job brother. Peg city stand up!

Ooh, great choices. Thanks for sharing!
Superboy’s, Cindy’s and George’s my top 3
I’ve gotta check out Superboys!
White Top is the best in the city
I’ve got to check that place out! I’ve heard great things! 🍔❤️
From Reddit, looking good!
Two things:
- Lighting/Color feels like you need to turn up the vibrance a bit? At least in the low light/cloudy shots
- Sound is a bit off
Other than that great job
Thanks for the support! I’ll definitely keep these notes in mind!
vj's used to be, now its zaks on henderson...double bacon cheese for 11 buck...

Walk across the street to Jonnies next time, trust.
@@MindShackleFilms I’ve been going to Jonnies since I was a kid. Their burgers are nowhere close to dairi whip!!
You forgot so many other places……

No mention of "The Red Top" on St. Mary's Road. The basic Top burger is great and comes in at less then $7.00.

WHAT! No Mrs Mike's on Tache??
Ha! I’ve got to check that out next time! 😉
Winnipeg is greek hamburger heaven. They're all great some better than others. It all started with Juniors in the 1960's and took off after the main street location sold and Junior franchising started. He eventually returned as VJ's.
Wow, what a great history! Thanks for sharing!
@@paulplett I forgot to mention that the original Junior's sold Buckeye Root beer. It was way better than A&W root beer. Haven't seen it in i think in 45 + years..
Hey i like the content your doing about our city.👍 i think you need to be a little more critical on the reviews
Ha! Thanks!
