I couldn't help noticing you guys were working the lures with your right hand, then switched to left to retrieve your fish. Potential for a mistake during transition. I'm converted to left wind reels, keeping in contact with fish.
I fluke mainly from north Jersey to Delaware I actually prefer a spinning rod and a single jig. With 10 pound braid I can get down with 1 to 2 ounce jigs in up to 80 feet of water in most conditions.
Hey Shawn, we were using thin diameter, 20-pound-test braid, which let us get away with 4- to 6-ounce jigs in the deep water out there. When we filmed with Jimmy Koutalakis a couple years back, he was even using 15-pound test, so he could use lighter jigs and keep his jig straight up and down without scoping out too far. Jimmy Fee
Just caught an 18in Black Sea bass off of fishers island. Bait casters are one of my favorite and that’s what I caught the fish on
Got the 300 and 200 high speeds I use inshore in Savannah. Great reels.
Man, that looks like fun!
Nice fluke !!!!

Which reel doesn’t get jammed up with 8oz on it. Thanks
Hey guys what's the jig/plastic setups top and bottom? Using any bait in conjunction? What are you guys using for line and leader?
How many ounces did you need to fish to stay in contact with the bottom? Enjoyed the video.
We were fishing between 4 - 6 depending on the stage of the tide.

Did you find the fathom 300 High Gear reel hard to reel or have less power/torque with such high gear ratio?
What lb test line are you using?
Hey Brandon, we were using 20-pound-test braid. Some captains even scale down to 15-pound-test so they can use lighter jigs.
What are the rods? Medium or medium heavy?
God,I got the batter all ready, yummy.
