In the first place the issuance of importation ban of 2nd hand cars was to protect the economic interest of U.S, in preparation for the U.S recession in 2008. This is just a matter of blowing off your competition in a simple business operation or whatsoever. Moreover, EO156 would not even exist if the AmCharm would not question the importation of 2nd hand cars in cagayan. ( page 1)
(page 2) AmCharm was alarmed that investments in SBMA will be affected if there are other free ports that would open up and operate same as theirs, and hence they know that cagayan is a potential threat because of it's geographical site. Since it is located northern tip of the Philippines, It is closer to other northern trading countries. Which means that the time and expense of freight of goods being brought to us by entrepreneurs will be efficient. (page 3)
(page 3) Therefore, EO156 is just another law passed with prejudice, without considering it is in contrary to other laws and to economical development. In addition of an irrelevant statement. I suppose the Best speaker award is to pertain to the literal construction plus style of delivery of the speech, not so much as to the weight of the arguments or its strength as is. CorJesu 1st speaker has the latter (definitely!) but the attitude in the delivery of Lasalle 3rd gave it away.
La Salle wasn't prepared with the facts presented by Cor Jesu. De Lasalle's Third Negative cross examination of the third affirmative was very weak. So weak. He's just asking stupid questions just for the sake of asking and then the time Third Affirmative cross examined him he asked for enlightenment. (But I commend him for his constructive speech)
De La Salle's leader of opposition was really weak he was just asking stupid questions that the prime minister already stated. Instead of doing that he should just have rebutted his proposition entirely. Props to the prime minister he's really good.
