Andew Samuels: The Iconoclast :) I agree with him on many points. He mentions some old chestnuts that many in training do repeat unthinkingly, like self-evident truths. Thanks, Andrew (and Jon too-- brilliant channel ! )
I have some questions.... 6:00 : the speaker mentions that “safety benefits the therapist”. In what way(s)? 7:00 : the speaker critiques the notion that the “patient cannot go further than the analyst has gone himself”, as “nonsense”. This claim struck me as a bit extreme and wondered about some of the potential ethical implications of adopting such a position. Moreover, Could there be more nuanced and balanced ways of making the point that the contribution of the client factors to therapeutic outcomes should not be understated, whilst at the same time, upholding the ethical and reflexive therapeutic values which place emphasis on the therapist’s own self-awareness? I apologise for my long semi-formed q’s, just sharing some of my initial impressions and questions aloud... Thank you kindly for the video.

I like this. Breadth of fresh air, clarifying many concerns, courageous and forward looking.

Could you explain why you think "the Jung Cult" is "a silly and shitty book" ?
