Okay but that I can hear the bells is probably my favorite I've ever seen! I'M ABSOLUTELY SHOWING IT TO MY THEATRE TEACHER OMG- we needed something to spice it up a bit and I've seen so many cute little moments that we need to add to our show!
I love the moral story about this musical. It had so many different aspects to it. Thank you very much it was so much pleasure to watch it. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 😊🙏⭐️😘
Was watching a small performance of hairspray on Britain’s got talent, came on to UA-cam watch a couple of vids of hairspray & came across this production. WOW WOW WOW!!! Guys absolutely superb, amazing. The full production was 1st class and there is not enough words to describe the acting and singing + dancing WOW WOW WOW!!! All the way from bonnie Scotland Loved it 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
In the early 2000s, I was sexually assaulted by a group of boys during my first two weeks at Hill. When I told my dorm parent, he responded, “Boys will be boys.” I never brought it up to anyone again after he made me feel foolish for bringing it up in the first place. Years later, it rules my every waking moment. I will never forget my time at Hill.
It was so funny to see "You're timeless to me" like this, so unique they almost sounded like they were drunk and having so much fun flirting with eachother, love it!
OK OK OK I didn’t think I was really going to get into it but oh my god it’s 44 minutes and 13 seconds in and I am completely addicted. I am so involved in this this is so cool. You guys did an awesome job. Love it
Does anyone know where I might be able to read more about the set design of this production? Also, great job to all the cast! You guys and gals were great!
I might have a pretty 🤩 good 😌 idea 💡 for a dream 💭 cast for Hairspray 2021 with some new characters, returns of old characters and combine both the 1988 and 2007 films 🎥 and the 2002 Broadway 🎭 production Merit Leighton as Tracy Turnblad Jim Carrey as Edna Turnblad Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad Nicole Kidman as Velma Von Tussle Huge Jackman as Franklin Von Tussle Zara Larsson as Amber Von Tussle Jeremy Renner as Corny Collins Beyoncé as Motormouth Maybelle Shawn Mendes as Link Larkin Casey Cott as Casey Turnblad Sasha Sloan as Penny Pingleton Dove 🕊 Cameron as Dana Baumgartner Diane Lane as Donna Baumgartner Aubrey Joseph as Seaweed Stubbs Navia Robinson as Little Inez Stubbs Kathryn Hahn as Prudy Pingleton Joaquin Phoenix as Paddy Pingleton Becky G as Maria Del A Cruz Anthony Gonzales as Rico Del A Cruz Antonio Banderas as Ernesto Del A Cruz Jennifer Lopez as Elena Del A Cruz John Cho as Alan Wong Hana Mae Lee as Anna Wong Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Ally Wong Ross Butler as James Wu Shia LaBeouf as The Beatnik Cat 🐈 Doja Cat 🐈⬛ as The Beatnik Chick 🐥 Dan Aykroyd as Harriman F. The girl who plays Tracy don't sing very well! Sometimes she sings high, sometimes low, sometimes she screams. She could puts more efforts 😐The costume is fine but her singing... yikes! It hurt my ears a bit!
Let's start by saying that Choices were made. I don't blame the students for these choices, I blame the Director(s). 1, Why did the Actor Playing Edna have that voice? Harvey Fierstein's Voice is like that Naturally, The Voice was unnecessary. He was Playing a Woman/Mother, Not a Man Dressed Up as a Woman, His natural voice would have been much better. 2, The Padding was so Wonky. Why was Velma so Aggressive? The Character is Mean but not Aggressive. She was Too Much. Things could have been improved a lot. Again, Choices.
THAT is the nature of school productions. But the fault lies with the drama teacher or coach - they typically never teach subtlety, comedy, and that yelling is not acting.
The screaming didn't really bother me. It looks like they were trying to do a concert version of the show. In which case, the over the top performances and screaming make since. It's nice to see teenagers bring their energy to the show. I'd rather have screaming and overacting than bland lifeless performances (which lets face it, we often see with High School productions). I think this is incredible for a High School Production. My high school never did anything on this level.
@Christine Wilkinson @Anthony Butler If you don't have anything good to say just keep your rude comments to yourself, please. These students and their director worked very hard to put this together.
@@benjaminwang9237 I’m not saying it wasn’t good, it was, it’s just some of them were just really over the top and everyone was screaming. The actors just didn’t need to do that I don’t know if they didn’t think they were going to be heard but everyone was screaming especially Tracy and it just it hurt my ears.
@@RaychelD2400 I agree completely. Velma screamed almost all of her lines, and Amber did quite a few. There is a vast difference between projecting, and high-pitched screeching.
Whoever plays Edna is a literal god on earth. We don't deserve him.
As a HUGE "Hairspray" fan, this was EVERYTHING !! These kids were amazing.....thanks for making my WEEK !
Whoever plays Mr. Pinky is giving me so much life. Best featured actor right there 🤩🤩

38:40 he was saying ednas line

Seaweed is huge 😋

Velma during Miss Baltimore crabs was WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY over the top…I didn’t get it…..🤔but the rest of the production was really good.

Penny look s like Ariana grande
Tracy is not that fat... but loved it
I got seaweed and this might be my first important role to me especially since I have to sing a great song and im a girl
Where did you rent the sets?
They didn't rent them. The theater tech students built and installed it all.
Unfortunately mics were a little lower than music but you did all AMAZING!
penny will looks like ariana grande and link rly looks like zac efron
1:21:10 cell block tango looks different
Why did she sound like that
Who?
Nice audio!
The girl who is playing penny looks like Ariana grande
In the musical😖
What is on Amber's forehead?
Her microphone runs through her hair and lays on her forehead. It's far too low, but it was probably a technical/sound reason for it.
@@accordingtoabe ohhh I see, thanks
It a mic through her blonde wig
I wonder if the guys who play Edna and Wilbur are brothers they look and sound alike
Anyway all hail whoever plates seaweed
great but could have done with a little less of the ad libbing from Edna
Someone teach Tracy how to pronounce " Baltimore"
😂

A lot of needless screaming and over-acting, sorry not a fan.
