After watching a few reviews of Starfield (Bore-field) i came here to see something a bit different. I like me some space pew pew from time to time, but this one seems meh. Im more the kind that likes space trading games with a decent story and a large galaxy, like Rebel Galaxy. Loved that game because i got to pilot some large slow capital space ships and had to use multiple weapons systems without pulling some ace pilot high G maneuvers. Im not a young guy and im not so good at fast paced, high APM kind of games, this is why i play turn based games mostly. However the exploration aspect tickles my fancy and reminds me a bit of Forsaken from the early 2000s. I might give it a shot for the exploration aspect. However i have to say that the ship design doesn't look too appealing to me. And when you play a space combat sim you WANT your ship to look fucking awesome. Im on the fence about this one, but TY for an excellent review.
agreed although the first is... dare I say it, better? since it doesn't overstay its welcome. Everspace 2 can feel like it's dragging a little bit if, like me, you do everything. Probably a me problem
@@tbone9474Fair to say! Though it didn’t drag for me. Completed the campaign, farmed systems to get a few T4 ships, walked away happy. Either way, definitely worth a return for any expansion release.
I have the first one, but have not sunk in to much time into it yet. I am surprised that they turned the this one into a ARPG when the first is a Rougelike. The Exploration looks like a lot of fun, but some of those Puzzles sound like the worst. I think if I can ever snag it for really cheap I will give it a go. I hope they keep improving as I do think they are getting better at turning this into something special.
I wouldn't say it's bad. It's more like in many situations you are funneled into doing things the way the game expects you to and there are annoyance spikes here and there.
Playing the evil clone trope straight is either very lazy or very ballsy... I guess the former here. It's nice to see the mediocrity of Starfield makes content creator look for alternatives to talk about, even if space games are not my thing (because pew pew is boring to me).
The game is good but feels more like a base that needs alot of building to complete it. Leveling is way too fast if you do side stuff. Trading is static. Only small ships to fly. Lazy GR D3 copycat endgame=dead boredoom Perks are either useless or overpowered. Game world is static, youre just stuck to the linear story to unlock any sort of progression. No perma companion. Puzzles are 2 types, either too easy 1st grader thing or you are left to find hidden unlockers in huge clody low visibility areas with no clues at all dying in frustration. 6/7 is a right score, nice to find a review that doesnt glorify this game because starfield failed. Everspace need a heckload more actual content to be a solid space game.
Thanks man. You are right, I messed up the final score because I used a template from another video. But I think you can tell by the scores-per category that I think like this is more around the 6.7 ish mark than the actual score that appeared in the end.
Hey man, not a bad review but i think you didnt understand the ships and classes with there passives and abilities that do change the way you play so not sure what you were meaning by class and talent abilities going out the window, i think you need to really look at it better its not just about buying the most expensive ship
Probably my biggest disappointment of the year. Going from a a full motion rogue-like into a straight line RPG kind of took a great start to a new rogue-like and spiked it for no discernible reason. If they wanted to switch, make it a gaiden style title “Everspace:your title here” or whatever.

Oh then you want to look at Star Traders Frontier. It's like rebel galaxy but better in many respects! (review coming up this year)
ok boomer😜 sorry had to
I'm in the "hate it" camp lmao. Great video though, love your stuff!
Thanks! I switch wildly between camps XD
Oh hell yes. Played and completed this at launch earlier this year. Absolute banger game.

These guys need to realize that some of their game design conceptos are dated and irritating. Id they do that... their next game could be amazing.
The great things sound great, but I am not gonna play an ARPG with bad combat. Maybe in Everspace 3 they will get the formula right. Great video Alex!

except the combat isn't bad, its actually very good! the entire game is great
Interesting title. Great video my friend. Thanks for the recommendation 🔥
