- 2023 NFL Draft - Zay Flowers out of Boston College is a favorite of many NFL draft rankings and evaluators thanks to his fight to win contested catches and explosiveness with the ball in his hands. But at 5-foot-9 and 182 pounds, where does he project at the NFL level. Josh Norris and Hayden Winks of Underdog Fantasy look at one of the best NFL draft WR prospects.

Who does Zay Flowers remind you of? 🤔 Drop a name in a comment below!
Antonio Brown and Steve Smith.
AB.
Hollywood brown
Welcome to Baltimore Zay 🥳
I think you have zero idea what you are talking about if you can't see the potential in this guy and nice job using a top 3 corner in the NFL to make him seem bad
Played against Eddie Royal in HS, and it was a nightmare. I hope Zay finds his way to a system that maximizes his talents. Too often it feels like teams are drafting smaller (sub 5'10" 190lb) WRs and then misusing them.
Flowers weighs 10 pounds more than Addison. Yet Fkowers is somehow too small? So much USC bias on the guy on the right.
don't worry, I'm going to mention this for the Addison video - Josh
Length matters. - Winks
He said he had no agility? His yards after catch was 42 yds!!!!!!
I believe the 6 best WRs in this draft period are Hyiatt, Dell, Flowers, Rice, JSN, Mingo this is my prediction for this draft. Will be interesting to come back to this years later and see if I was right or wrong.
Zay Flowers reminds me of Steve Smith Jr.

9:20 Hello Dynasty Community!
He is built (actually look at his pics) & super quick & agile, going to be a good pro
Y’all underestimating 4.42 speed calling it decent speed…. Route running is a premier for him he can play anywhere on the field it shows no one can guard him wherever he’s at
He ran a 4.42 at 13 lbs heavier than what what he weight at the Senior Bowl. I think Zay is actually faster than 4.42 once he gets used to that added weight.
Dude looks and sounds like an absolute grinder
I was thinking the same thing. When is 4.42 "decent speed" idc what size you are that's fast as shit.
That's because the average 40 for cb & wr is 4.48 he is fast but not super fast. You got guys consistently runny 4.35 - 4.45 yes, his speed is decent.
Running*
@@kingpowellii6004 ain't nothing decent about 4.42 speed.
@King Powell II wouldn't avg speed be decent? 4.42 is super fast. Everyone caught up on Tyreek type speed and that's just not normal.
Zay Flowers reminds me Captain Butch Flowers from Red vs Blue and it's only because of the name.
Antonio Brown was 5′ 10″, 185 lbs.
I like the Eddie Royal comp, he was a good WR and punt returner.
I'm with you on your quest, Josh ✊
He’s got that toughness and fight it in him that will make him successful. Reminds me of a baby Debo
What's funny is Steve Smith who was a small great wr in the league loves Zay flowers and thinks he can be a all pro but you have him as a late second rd pick lol. The NFL will draft him in the 1st rd easy and he will be a stud.
That’s why you don’t listen to these talking heads. Listen to the actual pros. He’ll go 1st round.
Called being too analytical
He reminds me of my dad. Constantly beating people that he shouldn't.
Love the discussion! Will you guys eventually discuss Jordan Addison? I feel like it's hard to separate the top 4-5 wrs this year
recording it next week!
@@UnderdogFantasy Hell yeah 👍
Please dont!! Haha. Everyone is off him and I like it that way. Shhhhhhhh....😅
Who made your theme song? Best out there, should be full jam, and whoever it is has groove.
I see a compact Dante Hall, or a mini-Randal Cobb.
I'll tell you this much he won't look any smaller than Hollwood did, so...
Can’t wait to come back to this in a year and see how bad you guys wiffed on this one.
AB was 185 lbs….
I see Brandin Cooks as a comp
Did BC have two qbs? Cause everyone trashes them but I thought some film looked rather solid and Zay did put up some numbers. ??? Feels like a "hive mind" take to me but I don't have enough info.
yes, they played with two guys last year (I believe) - Norris
I think he's best as a majority slot at the next level. I don't think he's the outlier that diontae johnson and tyler lockett are as deep ball smaller guys. I don't think his hands are that great and his size and reach is an inch or shorter even than those two guys. I think it's good to see he has the skillset and in certain matchups or some percentage of snaps you can put him outside to access that part of his route tree, but I don't think he's truly going to threaten the deep part of the field as a high percentage play. I think he can at least keep dbs honest and still run routes out of it but it will be a bit of a cat and mouse games if dbs respect him as a vertical threat.
He is quite polished and will be productive at the next level, has some yac ability if he stays healthy and avoids big hits. He will need a good qb that can throw with precision timing as the margin for error because of his size and reach is much smaller than the average receiver. An example of this is Diontae Johnson's production w/ Ben and w/o.
He does bring some added value as a gadget guy, end-arounds, screens, etc and also a return guy.
His biggest attribute imo is his versatility, the fact that he can do all of these things in one player can be leveraged by a good coordinator and keep the defense guessing. But ultimately, I agree a first round pick is a little rich for me personally even in a down wr year. I can't complain though, a good player is a good player whether it's round 1 or round 2 but would prefer to get a player of his profile with less polish in the 3rd round because I think Zay Flowers does carry some risk that some evaluators are overlooking despite his good floor. Upside wise any player has the potential to be great or "special" within their profile with outlier work ethic and between the ears game knowledge/skill combo/savy plus fit and chemistry, etc. etc.
That's why the mental Evalution is generally just as important but also extremely hard to evaluate for teams and impossible for outsiders.
Agent 89 - Steve Smith Sr
💯
Steve smith jr and victor Cruz are my comps
More and more I look at him, Antonio Brown
When was Antonio Brown 200 pound coming out of college
😭ikr
JAG
Flowers seems to compare to Mooney to me
You can see the bit of bias from the guy on the right side... and there are a multitude of guys who did well/great/elite in the NFL, yet they ran even slower than 4.42, heck even above "4.5's"... but we will see how this ages, 💁🏽♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ lol.
Well hes been burning shit up in ota's so we will see
Hope the pats draft him
Zay flowers is bigger than Addison. Addison looks pretty small pretty sure is a flowers is 10 pounds heavier than him.
Reminds me of Diggs
AB* without the On/Off the field stuff
Doesn’t matter who you pair with Lamar.. this wr don’t match well with his skill set.. always blaming wr
