That must have been something. My first time was with my parents in the mid-70's, on a long dirt road from Humansdorp, with the Port Jacksons twice as high as the car on each side, smelling of coffee and dust. And when you passed the huge billboard with the bikini girl surfing, you knew it was the lighthouse round the next bend.

I went by ox wagon. There was no road.
