      @@pmambongwe8640 PE is a small town you can't compare it with Nairobi. I love PE and I think it is beautiful. Downtown is not the best place just like in many cities.

    • @BlackDoveNYC
      @BlackDoveNYC Рік тому +1

      @pmambongwe8640
      I don’t think PE’s downtown shown here looks bad. The city isn’t taking advantage of its resources (which include the people obviously). Before the World Cup in 2010 I don’t think parts of Durban were as attractive as they became due to the clean up and renovation that make it look a lot more attractive.
      Like anywhere in the world the government has to come together with the people and private businesses to make a difference.

      Surely it is a relative question, hoping that you are doing well Metal Rocks... I appreciate your time to view some of the videos on this channel.
      To answer your question, Port Elizabeth or New name Gqeberha is a great place for me, it is quiet and laid back, less pressure and traffic as well, but there is crime just like any part of South Africa. So in comparison with Capetown when it comes to population and crime i would like to believe that we are far behind Capetown.

    The difference between PE and Durban is that,Natal and Arts and Culture,are investing more in their City and its people, especially on the side of entertainment, look at Dj Tira and his boys,they are always on a forefront everytime, arts department they know that these young man A crowd pullers, Eastern has Artists but they end up in Gauteng with nothing to write home about, Durban Artists stays in Durban not in joburg, they should do the same

    • @thegreatafrikanchannel

      Total agree with you on that, Durban got it right on marketing itself.... Wish PE would do the same....

  • @BlackDoveNYC

    Interesting video. Too bad you can’t show a map of which part of the city you are in.
    This is kind of a different view of PE than I’m used to. I associate it with nice beaches and restaurants.
    This reminds me more of the parts of the U.S. that are not doing well. The city does look clean and orderly (which is a plus) but I think it’s because of day and the time this was shot that makes it look less than it probably does IRL.
    PE and EL like the rest of the Eastern Cape Province should be so much more than they are. Like most of SA it really baffles me that the people let their government do such a terrible job. The nominal GDP should be at least three times larger than it is. The people should be closer to New Zealand or at least Chile in terms of per capita income.
    Unfortunately it reminds me of other parts of the world. I don’t think the UK government has served its people well in the past few decades for instance. The United States is not that much different. And the less said about China and Russia the better.
