Quad Engine Repower! New Yamaha 300’s on 37 Freeman!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 сер 2024
- After 9 months of use we were approaching 1000 hours on the quad 300 yamaha outboards so I decided to swap the motors and sell them while they were still worth a decent amount. I show the process of pulling the old motors off and hanging the brand new motors on the 37 Freeman Boatworks. We also put some fresh Micron 66 bottom paint from Interlux on the hull.

Book a fishing charter in Islamorada at Bud n' Mary's Marina at www.budnmarys....
You are living the dream man! Never take it for granted.
How much are you selling for one motor?
I recommend putting a go pro mounted to the tower looking at the bow and sea in front and one looking at the stern looking behind it would look cool in vids 👍🏼👍🏼keep it up
You all probably dont care but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot the account password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Kayden Korbin instablaster :)
@Dane Zechariah I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Dane Zechariah it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much you really help me out!
@Kayden Korbin Happy to help :)
Keep em comin Capt. Nick, stay busy, get prepared for the upcoming surge. We can never make up lost revenue... But we can carry on.
Yes Nick seguro
Nick always helping out and just offering food to others. Your heart is always in a positive place. Great video Brother thank you for all the great videos.
I love all of your videos but its cool seeing the otherside of fishing everyday and the maintenance that goes onto keeping a rig on the water! Keep crushin it Capt!!!
Appreciate it 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I'd love to see some more videos on how to deal with common mechanical issues on a boat. Like, things that can happen when you're out on the water that as a boat owner/captain you should know how to fix yourself.
Dawson stop thinking about it and do it. You are a big part of why i watch Nick. Your banter makes his channel better. Nick what is a good camera to start with on a budget of poor
I live in San Diego and I have seen a lot of boats but your boat just blows them away. It is just beautiful and it shows you take great care of that boat.
Thanks for comment 👊🏻
Love watching you video live in Trinidad and Tobago my boat has 2 Yamaha 300
Best Boat/Motor Combo on the Planet! Keep Safe Captain and Family!
Love that freeman setup! Fresh pair of Yamaha's, that's what i'm talking about!
Great video. It really helps people appreciate how much time, money, and extra effort it takes to maintain your business so you can offer such great services to your customers.
Thanks 👊🏻🎣
stay safe and healthy Capt!, your not alone in this, we will get thru this and get back to work and fishing
Boom
Wow, on most other vehicles, break-in is done at factory. Kind of cool one gets to control how motors are broken in on outboards still.
Nice friken boat by the way. This would be an ultimate dream boat when I was your age. Very friken cool.
Money bags here has obviously moved up to the 10 million dollar 92 viking since the million dollar boat "at his age is a dream". Go back to your whiskey pops.
Great video!! I’m stuck at home so between you, deer meat and blue Gabe, y’all got to keep em’ coming!!
@seakeeper give this man a setup. His videos are detailed and informative. We fish here out of the gulf. Swordfish is on the to do list. Your videos definitely help the process. God bless and keep them coming bro.
I camp yearly at the campground by bud n Mary’s have always wanted to see this boat
Islamorada mecca, new motors look sweet and the outside props were toed in nicely on the plane, mind the old ones weren't too shabby either. Keep that precious little sweet heart safe.
Nice video👌
Awesome Capt Gabe. Really enjoyed your vid. Stay safe and many thanks.
O man...those babies are quiet...nicely done man, nicely done. Hoping for this virus to peter out and get back to business. Love your channel and all your videos. I am planning on a new boat in 3 years. My wife will be almost retired (part time).
Thanks! Appreciate it. Good luck with the boat 👊🏻👊🏻🎣🎣
@@StanzFam Hey man this virus thing is devastating to business owners. Praying for you. Need good people out there doing good things, (fishing) and spreading happiness.
He should definitely start a Chanel, btw I love your videos you are by far my favorite fishing youtuber
Enjoy your videos very much. Keep the faith we will all get through this. Sory it is hurting businesses. Can't imagine what my Grandparents went through during WW2 with rationing and all.
Thank you for saying what you said about making sure everyone’s doing ok that’s very respectful water looks beautiful I’ve never seen water like that in my life in person that’s so awesome I’m from upstate ny so no clear water here lol
?
I must be missing something. In the usual case, people who make foolish decisions like this don't stay in in business very long. Your first bad decision was thinking you needed four motors to take 4 people fishing. But you are still around and that's amazing. 😊
It is hard to imagine but they say timing is everything. I never expected to have the boat I do, and definitely never planned to have 4 motors but it’s worked out.
The resale value of the used Freeman boats the past few years has been incredible. My first 37 Freeman had twin 350’s but was much less desirable than a quad boat. So I would rather pay a little more in upfront and in maintenance costs for quads for a couple years and then make better money on the back end when I sell the boat. I know the resale value won’t always be what it has, but it’s still a 3-4 year wait on most models, so hopefully can do it a couple more times.
Also with quads you don’t really miss out on charters. If you lose a motor you can still run on 3. With twin if you lose a motor you’re down
I also work with a few of the companies so I get decent pricing on a lot of the parts and pieces , so all those things combined make it work
Over 100k in engines. Staggering amount of money to make a boat move.
That's like criticizing a farmer during harvest or a trucker. Fuel and engines are a big part of the business expense.
@@petersouthernboy6327 I'm not complaining, I'm a boat nut, just sitting here in amazement.
@@growlith6969 - I get that. You'd have a cardiac if you knew what my family spent on diesel during planting and harvest. Running an offshore charter fishing business gotta be the same way.
@@petersouthernboy6327 I watch that young farmer guy on youtube, he ran through the numbers, was quite eye opening. I have a towing business, fuel cost and insurance really keeps the profits at a depressing level.
but the nice thing is it's a tax write off.
1:51 Dude! That was almost 60 knots like nothing!
That was a really smart and clever move to park a truck behind so no criminals can take your lower units really cool video
Beautiful water, such a paradise. Stay safe you guys!
Nick could you do a video about the different tackle (rods/reels/line) you select for different types of fishing
Sweet, down time is time to improve your business. Here’s a power statement I’ve been using “The Comeback will be Greater than the Setback”. Your business will soon thrive my friend
I like that statement!! I’m gonna use that in the future! Thanks for that 👊🏻👊🏻
I've always heard, minor setback for a major comeback...
StanzFam man you guys are very welcome. I don’t have a boat to fish from nor a Sailboat to Dream on and all you guys working and sharing let fish n sail vicariously through you channels. So I thank you and applaud you as well 👊🏻
Roland Fero love it man
I'm running a world cat 26 just got new 200 suzukis.
Freeman king of cats
Go for it Dawson, you've had some great experiences that carry common interest. From one FLX to another, in the roc 👍🏼💪🏼✌️🏼
Holy shit... I was born in key west in 75 and grew up in those waters, I dont think about em much anymore live overseas now and its changed alot last time I was there I didn't recognize the place. Just came across this clip by chance. Damm I miss being 9 or 10 listening to Whale FM waiting for Geniuses or Cameo to spin, sneaking over to stock island to look at playboys (we were key haven kids) .. going down to old town with my dad who let us get away with anything. Playing mini golf and finding wierd old shit in the mangroves where the homeless guys would sleep. There is nothing cooler than finding an old army gas mask in a mangrove hutt when your 9. Damn life was good.
Great video - keep them coming - like them all - best wishes to you from Jomtien beach, Thailand
Love the look of those motors....
Damn that color of water! I want to go there so bad! This virus needs to go away so I can book a trip with y’all.
Couldn't agree more...I was supposed to be in south FL/keys this past weekend n earlier this week :(
Plans were to do music fest over weekend and try to book with Nick mon tues or wed this week but instead I'm still sitting in DE n MD wishin I were fishin :/
@@legaseasportfishing5372 Might of got a cancelation with the virus if the keys were open but he's pretty much has a 1 year waiting list for charters.
LEGASEA Sportfishing what part of Maryland?
Looks like a good life, for gotten how nice the water looks down their hope you are back to chartering soon. Colorado we are told to stay inside can not wait to get my boat on the water.
Thank for watching, I agree the water is beautiful. Hope we are all back to work soon, stay healthy
I bet they just drove around the building with each engine and put it back on.lol such a sick boat
I gotta save to go on a vacation like this. Omg it'd be awesome living by such beauty
Nice 👍 . I hope you and your family are staying safe !!
Trying to! Likewise 👊🏻
Now's the time to do it. Add in the benefit of giving some of the guys work when everything's so slow.
What a nice boat
Maybe a boat cleaning video? How you do it, tricks of the trade, go to brushes and cleaning supplies.
Alec Schonert pay people to clean your boat
That's like 4 dollars a minute in fuel
I don't think anyone who casually buys $120k worth of outboards a year even if he doesn't need to cares much about fuel prices..... Yes I'm jealous 😭.
But he did say that he has been working with Yamaha for a while oh, so he clearly gets better prices. But it's also a business expense so it's not like he pays out of his pocket. That's just some of the benefits of having a business
That's like criticizing a farmer during harvest or a trucker. Fuel and engines are a big part of the business expense.
Thats a $600k boat $120k in motors. $on fuel isnt an issue.
@@mrmotofy Surely the old motors are still worth a good amount too. That would offset the cost of the new ones a bit.
Sorry Nick, have also been watching Blue Gabe, and Deer Meat. Many thanks to you all. Be safe.
Socially distancing myself by being here 👍🏽
Dern....my single yamaha f225 has 2,800 hrs on it...would love to repower, but she’s still running great! Enjoyed video.
But he has some kind of sponsor deals
We enjoyed these videos keep it coming
Beautiful boat! I just have a little John boat with a small mud motor to take me fishing this season
me too! i got a cheap 1436 tracker.. when i go to the river we bolt the mud motor on, when we go to the lake we bolt on the out board and hook up the canopy lol too much fun
Остаётся только смотреть и радоваться за людей👍👍👍👍 тут всю жизнь живёшь и не как на б/у 40 не заработаешь😥😥😥
Sweet looking ride! I love watching you and deer meat for dinner fish together.
Thanks! Appreciate it!
I seen it on the gram glade you made a video Thanks Captain!!
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice boat you have put together very nicely
Thank you 👊🏻👊🏻
I was down there last week and saw the boat - it looks awesome in person! I’ll hit you up next time I’m down for a charter.
Thanks! Hope you had a good trip down here
StanzFam sure did! We got about 50 lobsters in 3 days!
Hey Nick, my friend/ fishing buddy just got a used Contender, he's looking for 2 250 Yamaha's. He's Yamaha certified so if the price is right he may take 2 300's if the price is right. I'll send him the link to this video. Yall stay safe !!!
Cool, I’ll put a post up on my Instagram next week (captnickstanczyk). I’m gonna ask $33k per pair
Let's get that UA-cam monetization rolling. Much needed on this time
Love the video especially from a grey and wet Uk!
Good video, "900 hrs" CRAZY. LOVIN IT.
Why is this guy so entertaining?
You should do a Bimini run in the freeman
Are you in Bimini?
Go for it Dawson good mec's are hard to find
You should get a instant 360 camera put it very top of the Freeman then cruising around islamorada...The view will be gorgeous
Break in is one of the most painful things to do, you just cruise around barely on plane then plane for another hour burning fuel. Too money invested though, have to do it. My Yamaha 300 gets serviced more than my trucks probably.
Those Yamahas are awesome motors. Suzuki and Mercury build good stuff too but those Yamaha 4 strokes are where it’s at. They run forever as long ass you follow the manufacturers service intervals. I have seen some with over 5000 hrs with original block and lower unit.
@@eugeneweeks3325 I agree, serviced meaning even preventative maintenance performed. Would never use another brand.
Phillyfishguy lol. Hahaha. Those things are egg beaters.
I thought I was the only one who forgets the battery switch. Maybe I am normal after all !!
👊🏻👊🏻
@@StanzFam Did you get new engine cowlings or did you reuse the old ones?
Loved the peanut butter jelly time thing! ROFL!!!🤣😂🤣😂
That's a lengthy break in. All my race motors go from parts to engine to dyno to track. Don't really break anything in lol
Nice vid, cool motors and that boat... 👌
I have a 37 Seavee but it does not have 4 engines but it does have 3 Mercury 350’s
It runs very smooth
Sea Vee’s are great boats too!
Thanks
Also love your youtube
StanzFam we also have 2 other boats one is a Stuart boat works and the other is a gause we just got a second power pole on it
That water is beautiful 😍
Cheers mate and take it easy out there 👍
Can't go wrong investing in your business and if you can refresh the engines and not take a big hit, I would too. Hope you get good money for the last ones, we know you took good care of them.
Thanks for the comment 👊🏻👊🏻 , agreed
love your videos your by far my favorite UA-cam. Some video suggestions are tackle gear breakdowns
Nice video captain. Looks like you had a good cruise.
Thank you 👊🏻
Wow, Nice boat
Hopefully will book a trip next spring
Like your new motors and yours 🚤 looks great
Love the channel, your boat is sick, absolutely sick!! I don’t own a freeman but would love too. Sending good videos from Rhode Island!!
Thanks! Appreciate it
I’m ment to say good vibes, auto spell. Sorry bout that. But love the boat!!
@@StanzFam Now you should work with Yamaha so chase can get a deal on 350s or 425 Yamahas. 425 Yamahas would make that boat FLY!!
Great video man, enjoyed it! And that boat is an absolute beast. New sub here. 👍
Sweet set up there Nick! Wish I could afford to change out my twin 200 Suzukis every year too but I think I will mange. Hope this crazy Cronie Virus thing clears up very soon so we all can get back to normal and back to fishing as usual. Stay safe😎
Thanks! As long as you take care of your motors you should definitely get years and years out of them. Agreed! I hope the virus clears up soon so everyone can get back to fishing and on the water, also back to work . Stay safe and healthy 👊🏻
StanzFam For sure man I do take good care of them and they are great! Hope to get down there soon and will stop by on my way to Hawks Cay and say hi
Talk about the American Dream... yes I’m jealous.
I like the church bells. Nice touch. It's a blessing.
Keep up the great videos as they are extremely informative and enjoyable to watch. I texted you the other day and I look forward to booking a charter with you in February. Talk to you soon. Capt Andy :)
I’ll send an email blast as soon as I open up more dates , daytimeswordfish.com/book-now/
More videos from the top deck of the boat!
Great video !
Thanks Paul
I think you should make a video on how your business is set up. Cost, revenue, and marketing. Go over how you determine pricing hiring and growing.
I’ve been thinking about it for a while, just haven’t decided to do it yet
I can crunch the numbers in my head. His business is struggling at best.
Ok that’s done. Now off to Lazy Days...
👍🏻👍🏻
You know them hogs have been taken care of, he's documented all the maintenance on youtube!
Stay safe nick!! Would love to see the back country video flats fishing. See you out of your element haha. Keep them coming
Should be done with the backcountry video we shot in the next day or two. Hopefully up by tmrw afternoon. 👊🏻👊🏻
Little did you realize that 4 months later shit is still hitting the fan! Dropping that much coin on new motors without charters...damn.
Congratulations on new motors.
Beautiful Yammies. Let’s see, 4 new ponies and bottom job-- easy $130 k -- hope you get really busy when things get back to normal. All the best. Steve
Steve Sheller I bet this whole thing will cost him 20-25k out of pocket...He can sell the old engines for 30k a pair so there’s 60k and I’m sure he got a deal on the new ones. Retail is 28k I bet he paid 20k for each new engine.
Just watched the vid of him getting the new boat and the next he’s already getting new power
My 2 stroke Merc 300 Drags are thirsty, but not even close to 0.9 MPG. And I'm cruising at 90 MPH plus.
Almost makes me miss working at coral bay.
Great video. Thanks
NO BOAT NEEDS MORE THAN TWO ENGINES!
Beautiful boat WOW
Thank you 🙌🏻
Hell tell him to stay away from New York and start a marine shop in Florida!!! Coming from New England myself, there is no way I’d go back to live with all this crap going on!!! Good luck and stay safe!
3 months later and look what happened. New England is fine and Florida is getting kicked
I noticed the zinc anodes are different on your new 300's compared to my 2019's.
Awesome boat! Love me some Yammies!
Thank you, me too 👊🏻👊🏻
