with all do respect to the production of this awesome event... the person responsible for "observing" doesn't seem to understand what it should be showing on screen. it would seem like it is an easy job and that all you'd have to do would be showing the armies and the fights but that's not quiet it. showing buildings, drone/probe/scv mineral saturation, gas timings, upgrades amongst many other things are crucial for us the viewers to be able to follow, and for the commentators to narrate!! really poor observing in this match... just by looking at the minimap I can tell how much of the fight I'm missing because the observer is always late, or forgets to keep an eye on drops... if I were Rotti or Maynard this would be very frustrating... at some point even Rotti expresses his doubts on whether the observer would show something happening at some point in the match. it's kinda sad..
@ I absolutely agree with you, it seems easy but it isn't!! so maybe the observer should have certain guidelines to follow, or certain preparation, or at least he must have watched other people's work to have an idea of what the game is all about.. it is also why i think it's pitiful that they oversaw this significant detail.. (and there are great observers out there such as Funka, Koka, YoGo and even TKL - biggup for the o'gaming boys!!) i mean at some point i even felt the casters were a bit frustrated for the same reason and it happened in all matches of RO8... again... with all due respect to everyone involved in this awesome event... but it felt like i missed most of the action :'(
Is the observer shine? I think typically for gsl events they only have one observer and that is the korean one. The korean observer follows the korean commentary and the English commentators just kinda have to follow along. With wcs events and many “foreign” events, the English commentators can just ask the observer to show something else because they can communicate directly with the observer. This isn’t possible with the korean setup.
I was actually rooting for Classic in this game. He is the only Protoss I actually like to see play. He is good at absolutely everything and plays a clean complete game. I like SpeCial too .. easily the best Terran among the "foreigners".
I used to play a lot of terran, and I just don't understand Special's thinking in Game 3. Why no tanks? It's not hard to find the templar archives with a scan... once he knew about psi storm, I would have thought large masses of bio would be a liability. At least make some more bunkers or something. Also, it felt like Special did well economically in game 3. Why did protoss have storm AND colossus with thermal lance but there were no tanks or air units for the terran?

Special threw game 3 away at end....so frustrating to see him just give up even though he could have rallied better his widow mines and still had economy and production to hold off that push by Classic.
I thought that at first too, but then I reanalyzed and Special wins that game maybe 1 out of 10 times. I think Special just didn't have the right stuff to kill 3 immortals, 3 colossus, and a handful of gateway units. He had his first two vikings popping soon, but there were enough stalkers left to zone out the vikings and Special had no chance at gunning down the colossus with bio when there's 3 immortals to guard it. The rest of that game was going to be colossus lancing through Special's production facility and no way to stop them.
So, only a gold league player talking here, but as Terran I generally have 1 safety viking roaming my bases to shoot down, or at least deter, any transports. Game 3 of this series nicely demonstrated why I do that. Is there a reason this isn't common at the pro level? I assume that if I do something differently from the people who pay their rent by playing this game, I'm probably the one doing something wrong, I just can't figure what.

Im a dimond 2 only but i can tell you all the multytasking is crazy, so habing a viking lost somwhere is in the back of the list i think jajaja pluse just one viking wont do much becouse warprisum is faster, so its better to have it in a center area and zone out the prisum from variouse locations
Not an expert or nowhere near pro level terran myself, here is my humble opinion. In lower leagues we, mortals :D, tend to play a lot safer than pros. (Having more static defense and expanding only when we feel we're totally capable of defending all of our bases. They, the pros, on the other hand tend to take a lot more risks to utilize their income and units to the fullest and gain slight but important advantages in combats and econ. One more viking in a push or scouting, or spending that income to something else works better for them I guess. Another reason might be that they are a lot more active at map scouting and far better at reacting to threats. That applies to their opponents, as well. So they don't seem to think one viking will be enough to avoid the harrassment most of the time I believe. But of course that does not and will not stop me from defending the hell out of my bases! :D :D :D
Wow, a Terran actually using bunkers and emp in PvT. No wonder, he got this far. Just imagine, what Special will be able to do if smb tells him about Raven spells. That and the fact, that no one actually prohibits you from adding mech units into your bio army here and there... Jokes aside, I rooted for Special and really hope, he still has it in him to improve even further.
you either go bio or you go mech anyting between the two will put you behind at high lvl of play and mech generally suck too vs protoss. with bio the only mech unit you want to add in tvp are window and libs noting more nothing less. and anti armor missile is good if your fighting an army head to head something terran will never do in tvp. the only biable raven spell int tvp currently is the interference matrix against colossus and special used it.
Normally the observers who show the map and action are doing an excellent job to capture it all and they are definetely under appreceated. But to be honest in this match they performed poorly, missing a lot of important stuff. Well, they are human afterall :D

easy to say stuff like that really but pro games are more complicated than that really. there are so many details that matter, and they can have big consequences that we dont really see which then leads to loss of focus on important areas which causes mistakes etc. If the enemy knows about the mistakes, they might capitalize on said mistakes, when earlier, those mistakes were just something the other party had to accept because they were doing something more important. Then this circle of mess goes on and on.. it happens to any pro
Sadly most of the PvT I watch lately end with protoss triumph, regardless of who plays. :( Normally I don't like complaining about the balance or people who does so. But the tournaments terrans underperform keep piling up. :/
And before someone points out Maru, I believe his success has a lot more to do with excellent individual performances rather than riding a wave of meta like some others. (For ex: ByuN with reapers etc.)

Classic jebaited those mines with his stalkers and they are even in supply right before he goes up the ramp 113:111 (Widow mines from T and a few reinforcements from P at the P side). Also Classic has Colossi and Templar which counter Bio. No Emps or mass libs to be seen. Stop whining.

In another one of these games, Special *does* EMP all of Classic's high templars and a bunch of the Protoss army, yet the Protoss is *still* able to hold. With psi storm and shields it would surely have been a massacre. Ridiculous. There is a reason Protoss got nerfed (not enough, though) and EMP got buffed in the new patch.
"Some races suck" in Formula One is an understatement 😂As a huge fan myself, this Era of endless Mercedes domination and issues with following distance due to high downforce front wings has been pretty bad from an entertainment perspective. IMO (and I know everyone's gonna disagree with me), I think F1 should be more organic. It sounds ironic when I'm complaining about Merc domination, but all these stupid regulations (tires, fuel, etc.) and budget limits need to end ASAP. Look at the WEC like Le Mans; there are many categories of cars all going at different paces, etc. and it's very enjoyable. I think it would be fun to see the teams develop organically. If the top team completely dominates and is lapping everyone, then so be it, it's more fun to watch than this artificial BS with everyone, Mercedes included, acting like Ferrari and RedBull are serious competition. Just give up the BS guys, we know Mercedes is dominating, so just do it organically and without the BS. Maybe they would light a fire under the other team's asses to get their shit together. That, combined with bigger rewards brought on by embracing digital streaming revenue, would make Formula One much better than it is. It's a shame that the new owners haven't fully embraced change like everybody hoped they would.

You are complaining about the titles which every channel which uploads games or highlights normally do? What do you expect the titles to be then? Gsl vs the world ro8 match 4 etc? Then mostly everyone will look for game/highlight from other channels, the uploaders never want that, they want the title to be as specific as possible. Let's just say it's a tennis tournament which got uploaded. Which titles do most of watchers prefer: quarterfinals1: federer vs nadal or quarterfinals1? Aint nobody got time to check for generic-title videos like the latter. I see TY with a standby Cyclone in his base in the ladder. But most of the time, I see them rely on scouting to spot mineral line harass.

You are complaining about the titles which every channel which uploads games or highlights normally do? What do you expect the titles to be then? Gsl vs the world ro8 match 4 etc? Then mostly everyone will look for game/highlight from other channels, the uploaders never want that, they want the title to be as specific as possible.
Let's just say it's a tennis tournament which got uploaded. Which titles do most of watchers prefer: quarterfinals1: federer vs nadal or quarterfinals1?
