This is so cool. I've seen remnants of these types of clam gardens in coves where I grew up, and it would be so cool to see them restored. I can tell by the depth of nearby shell middens that indigenous tribes had likely been maintaining them for thousands of years.

I wonder who the genius was who came up with this. Did they perhaps stack rocks at the beach for fun, as people often do, and then notice how that area had more juicy, delicious clams? However it happened, it's good to see the clam gardens being restored!
super cool! It's somewhat surprising that warming the water in the garden would be beneficial to critters adapted to cold water. I'm thinking in particular of Olympia oysters that suffer heat stress and prefer shaded/north-facing sides of structures over south-facing. I guess it's different with these clams.
