What was that controversy at the time? Something about Geraldo claiming he was at a friendly fire incident...which turned out to be 300 miles away at the time he claimed to be there. Then he claimed to have misspoke, said he meant to say it was a different incident...which happened to occur 3 days after he made his comments? I may have the details wrong, but he was caught in more than one whopper.
To be fair he didn't use it to get out of anything, just his usual slimy attempt to appeal to people..

Many people have said great things about how OJ personally treated them. I know Howard Stern spoke numerous times about how nice OJ was to him. But that's irrelevant when you know he has a history of beating women and eventually murdered to people. OJ wasn't the first person to present a very friendly public persona while being an absolute piece of shit privately.

I'd say it's a combination of their decades long friendship and him being a regular guest on a show that's Trump is known to watch (Fox and Friends). Pretty fascinating interview. I can't say I've always agreed with either of these guys, as I am conservative on many issues. Definitely not pro-Trump, so hold your fire. I respect both of these two for being deeply passionate in their beliefs. Actually met Bill Maher many years ago and he was extremely nice and hilarious in the few minutes he was cool enough to talk to me.
Is the economy really that great? Half of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Poverty rates are really high in many places. Plus, the local, state, and federal governments keep cutting programs to help people. Roads and bridges are falling apart. Health care costs are through the roof. Etc. When will we admit that the economy sucks?

well, if the only reason you are going to the estado de jalisco is for a cheap script, you just dont know the right doctor.. i can save you the cost of the flight, and get you the best medicine in town, vato. The point is more about extended care.. for example, lets say you aint rich, and your elderly mother has to come live with you. But then she loses her mind to alzheimers disease, and she needs 24 hour care. and you and your wife already work 2 jobs, and take care of the kids.. without obamacare, people will not be able to put the elderly into hospice care, and they will either lose the house taking care of their sick parents, or worse.. Is that something you are looking forward to if we get rid of obamacare? taking care of your parents, changing their diapers, and feeding them, and hoping they die because they are just too much of a burden? or, vote out the fucking shit republicans, who want to get rid of that, and make it so you either pay hundreds of thousands for elderly patient care, or create yet another homeless demographic of people- the elderly that are just dropped off on a sidewalk somewhere without identification, because their kids cant take care of them with privatized health care. So do you know what you are actually talking about?

Lost respect for Geraldo long ago. Bill had a valid point.... just because someone is nice to you, doesn't mean they act the same with everyone else. If Trump is nice to him, it's most likely only because Trump gets something out of it.

The longer he defends Fox, the worse his reputation becomes (if he even still has one) and the harder it will be for him to ever find a job again (though it may already be too late for that). Actually, he's probably at or very near retirement age. Why not just retire quietly? He could devote his time to progressive charity causes and actually do some good. If he was paid millions on his several previous TV news jobs, he should have plenty saved up and/or invested so that he might not even need his Fox retirement benefits (if they have any)
