- Skookum out and about on the Niles Canyon Railway. This was the engine's first run on the railroad. It was taken from Brightside to Niles and back to break it in as well as wye the engine. This video also includes footage of Amtrak, UP, and the Canyon's Excursion Train. These clips were shot while waiting on or in the area of the Skookum
Great to read the Club Car and see this video of the # 7 happy and healthy operating on Pacific Locomotive Association's Niles Canyon Railway and I'll be even more please seeing the Skookum in person on May 11th and 12! So says I.
is Skookum the sole survivor of the 2-4-4-2 class?

There is a second Skookum loco in new zealand. Glenbrook numer 4.
Hachiroku8620 I saw that one
Nice steam train
Im sorry what the hell am I looking at? Is Skookum doing a tour of the west coast?
Currently will be at Niles Canyon for one to one and a half year. Unsure where it will go after
So is this locomotive on a lease or is this their locomotive?
On lease.
It was amazing to ride behind both Clover Valley #4 & Skookum on May 11th. They put on a great show with whistle echos and run-bys in the canyon. Too bad Skookum experienced some safety valve issues later in the day:(
I bet. I heard it was pretty cool. I'll have to get out there for the next time they bring em out. I missed this run.
Don't worry, Skookum & Clover Valley #4 will team up again on Labor Day Weekend:)
Might add the #3 to the mix as well. It will be interesting.
How did skookum get there by rail or truck? and if was by rail did it steam there by rail or did it run behind a train not operational? Also how long will skookum be in California on the Niles canyon railway running?
Truck. It'll be here for 1-1 1/2 years
Oh and wait 2 years!!! I was expecting it to be there just for the summer but dang 2 years is it only until the museum moves with the rest of the collection to the new location
@@atsfevan0242 one to one and a half years. Niles Canyon is not the ones moving. That is the Golden Gate Railroad Museum. The #7 is privately owned and once it is done at Niles it will visit another tourist railroad
Oh I see thanks
Train101 maybe to another logging railroad like roaring camp railroad
It’s here! I can’t wait!
Yup!! Today was a test run. It will be out on trains soon! Keep an eye out for it!
