@Tranquility1222 The very precedent that put Viserys on the throne is the one that declares Aegon as king. In the sight of gods and men, Aegon is the only one who is actually crowned by the faith thus rhaenyras coronation is invalid as it violates yet another precedent this one made by Aegon I, which has all legitimate targaryrn kings to be crowned by the faith. Furthermore the first precedent i mentioned It also calls in question the birth of rhaenyras heir jace, who is bastard of house strong, just like the old kings daughter saera head three bastard sons who attempted to lay claim on the throne and were rejected a child from the marriage laenor and rhaneyra is a bastard and not eligible to inheirt ans her trying to pass of such a child as rightful heir is high treason. Just like what cersei did with joffery. THIS in turn invalidates rhaneyra s claim yet again leaving aegon as heir, to be doing all this mental gymnastics to move around the fact she isn't suited for the throne. Any sane Lord who wants a peaceful and prosperous reign would declare for aegon
I’m wandering (person who never read the books before) if the show will bring Helena to Queen R’s doorstep? Only because of those last few scenes n the last 2 of the season episodes. Helena is mortified by Ahmend and he he done to Aragon. She didn’t see it but she knows. She is kind and peaceful so I’m hoping that she will come to her sister for sanctuary because Ahmend is trying to force her to fight. Or they could switch up and turn her into a warrior like they done, Arya, Sansa or Danni in GOT. Idk really but i hope her part becomes bigger. She is different that’s for sure but I hope she will start to play a much bigger role next season. We have seen so little of her so far.
She really was delt a bad hand by schemers Alicent and her dad were the worst but there were others I think if the didn't dance away there birth right she would have been a good queen but she couldn't put there mom to death you can never put that gennie back in the bottle take Vikings when they gave up on telling a mostly accurate story it's what made it impossible for the sons of Ragnar to ever stay together even though the all still had love for each other the last season really showed that more than anyother
The problems begin by naming Rhaenyra as the heir to the throne and regardless of standing for the greens or blacks we all know it. Viserys simply wanted to shove down his daughter with all her bs along with her bastards down to the Realm's throat and Greens weren't having it. Despite the weakness of her claim, Rhaneyra's fight for it still deserves respect. But when it comes to Iron Throne, there is a certain reason why there is a line of kings not queens.
In the book and in the show, rheneyra reign would never have worked out. She lied to everyone she ever met including her father because she wanted to be queen to make herself better than the rest of the world and breaker of tradition. Otto and allicent spoke the truth to viserys. Did it place his eldest child in a bad light yes, did it make the green children the legitimate heirs yes, did viserys foolish pride and love for his daughter no matter what his daughter did refused to hear or see truth. His own hand ser Strong could plainly see the Bs pouring out her mouth to her father. The realm would turn on her and her family. Much like the realm realized Joffrey was a bastard sired by Jamie, they all be able to see her first 3 sons are all bastards.
@auspiciousmaniac275 most of the realm feared her, in 1 night the realm destroyed her reign and her dragons. I'd get a clue before you bark up the wrong tree.
Joffrey was a no no because he was a lannister and don't have the king's blood. Jacaerys is a targaryen and the son of rhaenyra and accepted by laenor as his own.
@@Blu3Moon_III you can be accepted all you want but if you aren't sired by a guy you can't legitimately inherent his titles and lands. Their names aren't targaryan they are rivers. They are bastard children fathered by a Riverlands lord. They are at best dragon seeds, but not targaryans. In medival times, biology and traditions and laws were the order of things and even if a king says something if it's a direct conflict with biology, tradition, or law, it's a 1 way ticket to ending your reign and destabilizing and destroying all around you.
They had their reasons to not believe her , She suggested the torture of Kid Aemond when her sweet darling took his eye out and nonetheless her husband was Daemon who clearly hated them to death . War was the only option

@@adityamessiah69 the Lords who follow the Green faction are oath-breakers in the eyes of the gods to. The small council, the lords, royals and Kingsguard swore a binding oath before their peers. Can't really ignore all that ridiculous pomp and ceremony unless you're a commoner. So yeah, Traitors, Oathbreakers and Kinslayers. These are GRRM's parameters for those titles too. Doesn't matter tho neither faction is set up to be strong or political enough for the throne. But Rheanyra is partially motivated by that prophecy and comes from a more direct line as well as being married to a man that's "pure" Valyrian. So it's moot that the Greens made any offer. It's technically not their right. They have to have taken it by conquest already to shore up their that claim. So ofc Aegon is recognized after the dance, he killed Rheanyra. But then it goes right back to the mainline EXTRA inbred crew.
The terms they offered her were insulting and meant nothing. Basically they offered her what was already hers (dragonstone), offered driftmark to her sons (they were already the legal heirs to it anc had no right to offer it to anyone as the greens arent velaryons,) and basically asked for her sons with daemon to be sent to them as hostages (squire and cup bearer are basically hostages in case she acted up. Like in the book it’s speculated that there was an murder (because aemonds loses his shit& Maris (one of the 4 storm daughters goaded him about being a coward) and honestly I did like the shows version better except I wish the first half episode (season 2)had actually shown how Alicent and Otto were genuinely horrified instead of the bullshit we got. Otto was mad as hell. Aegon was the only one happy. Alicent and Otto *knew* team black would be out for blood, and that war was now in evitable and Team Black literally was already mobile, like they were already on the move during the war of the ravens. I just wish the show would’ve shown that. I don’t agree with them making Alicent look innocent when she let her “beloved” husband rot in his chambers for a week. *And* killed the servant who found him. But okay to team green people 🤨
The Dance happened because Viserys tried to change succession custom, that guaranteed a war. Not to mention heir designation is inherently unstable, just look at Diocletian‘s Tetrarchy.
@@mcbeaty3971 that’s kind of the argument is tho right? *One* great council had been called and it was also absolute monarchy and still a young one (in asoiaf standards at least) abd it can be argued a precedent was set but also there’s the problem of “the kings word is law” He should have betrothed and married Nyra and aegon, the age gap was not that big in the books. Jace- seris (phonetically)... Jace, shortened. Some same Jay-care-is. Who knows. The last doesn't make sense, and all the shows have actors mispronounce it in different ways. 😮
The one true King, King Aegon 2 Targaryen!
ngl i clicked for the art, would love it if you placed the credits on a more visible part. Perhaps it's cos on the pc atm, but i didn't even see them on the first watch
I'm on the smartphone and I can't see them either
‘Stolen crown?’ It was her father’s crown and she was his chosen heir. Showing a bit of favoritism for the rapist usurper, huh?
Aegon was his rightful heir. And that last part was her.
She can not inherit
@@ChristianAuditore14why not this not democracy the Kings word is law and everyone swore a oath that and the ones that broke it did for power greed and prejudice

Why did you show Erryk cargyll if you were talking about steffon darklyn.
Man they did Rhaenyra so dirty
and then she lost her son and lost her mind as well
they pronounce Jace with the C sounding like an S on the show
She’s already a kin slayer anyway lmfao
I hope can react to the story of the Hire to Empire Trilogy
Love her
She really was delt a bad hand by schemers Alicent and her dad were the worst but there were others I think if the didn't dance away there birth right she would have been a good queen but she couldn't put there mom to death you can never put that gennie back in the bottle take Vikings when they gave up on telling a mostly accurate story it's what made it impossible for the sons of Ragnar to ever stay together even though the all still had love for each other the last season really showed that more than anyother
Punctuation...
Still the kinslayer was the only targaryan who made the realm perceive the power of dragons
0:45 does this work here?
Ja-sair-is
Cause his nickname is Jace(said like jayce), not Jake
Her father is right, she is the rightful heir
The problems begin by naming Rhaenyra as the heir to the throne and regardless of standing for the greens or blacks we all know it. Viserys simply wanted to shove down his daughter with all her bs along with her bastards down to the Realm's throat and Greens weren't having it. Despite the weakness of her claim, Rhaneyra's fight for it still deserves respect. But when it comes to Iron Throne, there is a certain reason why there is a line of kings not queens.
He named her heir long before her children were born.
everything seems almost always better in the books
Jace the strong bastard .
Eatten🤣
Bastards are heir now.
Now? Didn't you ever watch Game Of Thrones?
Did you knowrrrrr
Most of the realm sided with her so I don't know what you are yapping about.
@auspiciousmaniac275 most of the realm feared her, in 1 night the realm destroyed her reign and her dragons. I'd get a clue before you bark up the wrong tree.
Most of the realm feared her? I take it you've read Fire & Blood? The same book that is heavily in favor of the greens.
In the books she only suggested aemond to be tortured after alicent commended criston to take Luke's eye
@@milnnoroc5157 in the show as well.
Rhaenyra or Daemon would have murdered Jaharys and Maelor- Haelena's male children.
Daemon did, we literally see Rhaenyra wouldn't do that in both the books and the show
I can't stand the character of Rhaenyra lol
Why? As I can see by your username, you like Cersei who has less claim to the throne than Rhaenyra and yet she did everything to reign (even causing her childrens death as in the profecy)
Who was Rhaenery’s Husband? The old king or this new kings guard?
her uncle Daemon
her ex husband was her cousin Leanor
Then why does she push her off the window!!!
She doesnt lol no one pushes her she jumped. Rhaenyra wasnt near her.
She doesn't.. Helaena commits suicide

Yeah, Aegon and the Greens also offered peace to Rhaenyra, and they did it first. Idk why everyone acts like she's a saint for doing exactly the same as the other side.
They were technically traitors to the realm. Rheanyra is still the proclaimed heir.
@@a.munroeWhole of Westros know Rhaenyra was a traitor to the realm, even Aegon III(Son of Rhaenyra and Daemon) recognised Aegon II as the legitimate heir
Her offer was actually immensely more forgiving and prioritized the safety of innocent's like haelana. The greens were shits and botched negotiations at every turn.
@@adityamessiah69Damn it’s almost like it’s due the patriarchy that this entire story wants to criticize. Jeez people 😂
She would have to kill Aegon his brothers amd kids to cut off challenge no matter what to make Jace (clear bastard heir)why people do not understand it😂
Because some people are stupid.
Rhaenys had dark hair in the books, as did other Targs. The coloring isn’t certain her sons are bastards, and the histories were written by those who hated Rhaenyra and especially Daemon.
No one actually cared that they were "bastards", they only used that excuse to usurp her throne
What kind of stupid bullshit did you just comment. @valentinaallmang2640
@@valentinaallmang2640 People didn’t care why is there a dance? her strongs one of the reasons for it. Viserys and Rhaenyra punished people who spoke about. And wasn’t her throne.
What’s with your pronunciation? Are you intentionally choosing to make the names sound different than in the show? I can’t tell if you’re trying to imply that your pronunciations are correct and the show is wrong or if you just don’t notice how different your names sound.
She never wanted a war and was named heir. It was never changed to Aemon even in the book. Aemon didn’t want to be king lol, he was in a whorehouse and was like ??? He only did it because of Cole. Rhaenyra wouldn’t have touched her siblings. And everyone says well what about daemon? But in the book he listens to her like and that’s a pretty big taboo in Westeros like up there with red wedding taboo type thing. They took that shot seriously. People hated Aemond for that.
The dance happened because of the Hightowers and Aemond being a murdering dumbass. He meant to kill Luke.
*One* great council had been called and it was also absolute monarchy and still a young one (in asoiaf standards at least) abd it can be argued a precedent was set but also there’s the problem of “the kings word is law”
He should have betrothed and married Nyra and aegon, the age gap was not that big in the books. The books gave us a million ways how it was unavoidable in that generation. But civil war would have happened anyways. Viserys (and I loved paddy’s acting, he understood the damn assignment and brought so much depth to that character) wasn’t a good king. He listened to the wrong people but I understand why he wouldn’t trust daemon as daemon was cruel and vizzy was a passive dude.
So it goes in circles.
Excuse typos. I try hard and try to edit mistakes but neuropathy and talk to text hates my accent.
Purposely mispronouncing names for engagement is such a scummy way to run a youtube channel

Why would the King bend the knee to the Princess? 😂
The Pretender thinks she has the rightful claim 😂
So, it’s JaKaerys, but call him JaCE. The pronunciations are a mess
