Roadglide hands down. I have an 03 Roadglide that I bought new and have rode for 21 years. Just bought a 2024 Roadglide and I’m so glad I waited. Harley knocked it out of the park this year.
I test rode a RG, I’m sticking to the SG. Agree regarding the new wind deflection for the SG. On my 2020, I HAD to get a Klockwerks windshield. Not needed with this new set up, but I am 5’6”. Great, comprehensive review! Thx.
@93ORyan , yeah, because you go 100 mpg all the time, and you can't tune out the governor. Took more than that justification to keep me from buying one 😂
I agree about the two bikes. It feels like you’re sitting on top of the Streetglide but it feels like you’re sitting inside the Roadglide. I’ll be buying a 2024 Roadglide very soon. And yes I took one for a ride.
I think they nailed the design of the new road glide. I think they really leaned into that new industrial design from more modern Harleyx that I had really liked to see. Shame I already bought an Indian Challenger and it's still better equipped than the new road glide.
I was very, very close, to buying a challenger. I told the salesman that when he was trying to mark up the bike.I ended up buying a RG. Challenger is bad ass though.
I went in to the dealer yesterday with my wife just to look at the sweatshirts. Have owned my 16 streetglide special since new with thousands in upgrades. Saw the 24 roadglide in blue burst blacked out. Test road it as i have never ridden a roadglide. Needless to say i bought the 24 roadglide immediately, handles like a dirt bike gorgeous bike and the new suspension is amazing. Amazing bike worth every dollar.
Dont like the look of the RG Fairing, The SG is way more stylish. I would go for the SG, but I need to test ride it first. Especially wind buffeting is something I am very sensible about.
I traded my ‘22 Road King (107) in on a ‘24 White Onyx Pearl Road Glide. Didn’t take long to decide after I saw the Harley new era reveal video. Sadly I still have a few more weeks before I can get on the road up here in the frozen north. Gonna be a horribly long wait 😊
Great motorcycles both. I think I would go for the Street Glide. It looks incredible. I haven't tried any of these bikes, so the information I have about them is UA-cam. However, there have been problems with the CVOs as I understand it, and that in itself is not unusual with brand new motorcycle models. Anyway: I picked this up: (and it doesn't sound good) - On the Road Glide, there have been problems with the fairing at high speeds, a problem that cannot be solved quickly and easily. It is now speculated whether the top speed has been lowered to 100 miles per hour for that reason? (In a new upgrade) Now these aren't machines you buy for top speed and such, but 100 miles? On a long nice straight road and in the right mood... Will you be passed by a Twin Cam eventually? As fantastic as these new bikes are, I think, as I always think. Maybe best to wait a year or two.
@@jaredkish8716 Yes, it's probably the same fairing with the same attachment points... You can choose to ignore all the reported problems. I myself wouldn't consider this bike for at least another couple of years.
The Yesoul exercise bike has totally leveled up my home workouts! So smooth and the courses are super engaging. If you're looking to stay fit, this bike is a fantastic pick!
I think the SG looks great as well. The RG doesn't look aggressive to me. It looks like it is smiling. I think they took a step back with the taillights. They all kinda look like mid 80 Oldsmobile Cutlass taillights. Not sure yet about the new bag design. They just look way too high for a road bike, all just my opinion. Maybe everything will grow on me with time.
I'm 6'7" and like Street Glide, I never liked Road Glides even though the new 2023 and 2024 models are so much better looking than the previous ones but still I don't find them much appealing.
Just bought a 2024 Streetglide billiard gray, love it. Rides so smooth at any speed. I didn't test drive the Roadglide, but watching this video makes me think I should have tried it out. Either way, love my Streetglide.
When I got my YESOUL exercise bike, I was kinda unsure how often I'd hop on. But with the screen mirroring thing, I thought why not? So I streamed my fav Netflix series and started pedaling, next thing I knew, I'd ridden for over an hour and totally lost track of time! It was super enjoyable, now it's part of my daily routine. And get this, it set me back way less than a Peloton would have.
Hi there and Thanks for your informative inputs. I like the whiskey fire and blackout color match however I am doubting that the blackout will show more ware and tare from the road after a while contrary to chrome. I would like your opinion on the quality and sustainability of the blackout paint. TK
Nice looking shift linkages. Myself, I ordered a pair of SS Heim joints online that fits the stock linkage rod, purchased my own bolts, installed, and haven’t looked back.
I bought a street glide over the road glide because the fairing turns with the handle bars and there is not such a gap between the rider and the fairing
Both are the exact same bikes, the only key differences is their fairing. The road glide while a superb riding beast of a motorcycle I prefer the SG instead in which I purchased one just recently. It's an amazing new motorcycle and I hope that Harley continues to innovate! Please please add reverse and heated grips and seats! too!
I took a blacked out whiskey fire SG home last Friday. I’m 6’ 2” and it’s plenty comfortable. I’m glad for that because I really don’t like the look of the RG faring.
Great review. I test road the Road Glide with the intention of hating on HD. Dang, I'm in line to place my order in with the long tour package. Amazing bike!!!!
Just bought the 24 SG in Green Chrome with a few add ons like the new speaker system with amp, extended windshield, luggage rack, and passenger backrest. I rode both bikes and loved the higher handlebar on the RG, but im just not a big fan of the fairing. I bought a brand new Chevy van in 21 with 6.6 liter engine, and it cost less than this SG. I was hesitant because I live in Buffalo, and the riding season is short here. But the bike is quite simply bad ass in my opinion, so I pulled the trigger. I have read some scary reviews about the new 24 HD, so Im crossing my fingers that I made the right choice. I can't wait to take this bike on some road trips. Ride safe, everyone!
Not sure you can say there is one clear choice. I’m sure some will like the way one feels over the other, there are some subtle differences. Between these two, don’t think you can say one stands out over the other. It’s a matter of how comfortable you are on one or the other and which you like visually, each of which will vary by individual.
I know everyone swears by the RG, but every time I test ride a RG I feel like I’m too far from the front fairing and the stock bars are too high. Keep in mind I have a SG.
great review, thanks! I still can't understand why there are 2 models! just merge them into one and call it The Glide. The firing and what comes around it doesn't justify having 2 models.
The road glide always seemed to turn in slower than the street glide not to mention the road glide is somewhat an ugly duckling compared to thr bat wing street glide, but to each his own, bat wing for me.
i considered upgrading but i have 21 ultra in snake venom and have stage 2 and legend rear on them so kinda trying to figure out if its worth trading and paying 65 a month more for
You have one of the best colors ever. Plus your upgrades there is no way I would buy a new model. The bugs will need to be worked. Don't be a test dummy. Ask the 2017, 2018 buyers with the original oil pump.
Your Android Auto information left me puzzled. I'm not sure if you're incorrect or if this is limited to HD. Android Auto continues to work just fine with my Goldwing.
You'll still have navigation. You'll lose the weather/ traffic/ map update feature. I called HD to verify. I'm having the Navigon installed next month.
Not sure you even mentioned the new motor is top head water cooled (which is a big deal imho). Nice to see Harley making some advancements. You can thank Indian for some of this, and it’s a good thing, we finally have two companies competing and improving, and we as customers are the ones that benefit fm it. Just curious, what’s with the stationary bike review, you come off like a salesman and I guess as a content creator that’s basically what you are 2 these companies. Tks for the info, peace!
I will miss the power considering mine is stage 2 but I’m sure later down road just add a stage 2 kit to it and it will rip even more than what mine does now I’m sure
I’ve got a new 24 road glide that I did the se8-511 cam in with a 2-1 and it absolutely rips! Haven’t dynod it yet but simply a street tune and she will get pretty routy
Well let’s be honest with ourselves. Aftermarket cams are almost always gonna perform better. But I will say it’s seriously pretty impressive. The cam boasts a 21 percent increase in horsepower which is pretty decent.
Trying to figure out how much of the new engine feel is actually just from quicker throttle response (different throttle map) and not just the increase in power and torque. I installed a throttle modulator on my 2022 and it's like a completely different bike if I use the various modes.
Thanks for the video. The road glide just looks hideous with that ugly fairing! In my opinion the new Street Glide looks great. Not liking the smaller engine guard because you can’t put lower guards on it.
