I relate a lot to this phrase, 'It was the only way I knew of to solve my dysphoria.' Fellow detransitioner, so glad you're posting more videos, I no longer feel so alone in this. x

I hope to some day be able to be as honest and thoughtful as these young people. I support trans people and I’ve always wondered at the same time about the issues that were brought up at the end of the interview. If this isn’t your viewpoint please don’t let me upset you. However, I think that expanding the definition of a woman (and a man) is a very important thing to do. Ive been trying to understand more rather than be frustrated and I’m extremely impressed with the thoughtfulness and I sincerely hope that you all don’t beat yourselves up because it is genuinely confusing and we have all been there in different moments and aspects of our lives.

whiteinkpen but extending the definition of woman is what has led people down the rabbit hole. I’m glad my primary education was not done in North America because it’s a complete sh*t show now because of the culture of appeasement. Some things are what they are no matter how we feel about them. A woman is a female adult that’s all nothing more nothing less. Being a woman doesn’t tell us someone’s race, height, fashion, feelings, thoughts, personality, woman just means an adult female. Everything else are human traits that can be found in Male and female. And intersex is not trans, intersex people are born intersex and even so they are still Male or Female.

I feel I should put this as it’s own comment as well so people can read up on this very interesting and important subject!
People seem to think that the only (or most common) reason people go back to living as their assigned gender is because they realize they aren’t trans. That’s actually not the case.
There was a survey done in 2015 which showed that 8% of respondents had de-transitioned at some point (but for most of them it was only temporary). The top 3 reasons for de-transitioning was pressure from parents, transitioning was too hard and harrasement/discrimination. Only 5% of de-transitioners said it was because they realized transition wasn’t for them.
Another interesting point is that most of de-transitioners were transwomen.
So these people who shout the loudest about their de-transition is actually a minority within the minority. They definitely are valid tho and I absolutely think their stories should be heard but it’s important to see the whole picture and acknowledge that this isn’t what it looks like for everyone who de-transitions.
Here’s a link to the report for anyone interested (page 111) transequality.org/sites/default/files/docs/usts/USTS-Full-Report-Dec17.pdf

I'm a trans AFAB feminist. I'm non binary. I wear make up sometimes, but only in a really artistic way, I'm not particularly masculine or feminine. I believe women and men can be this way. But if you're going to talk about how you don't have to be masculine to be a man and don't have to be feminine to be a woman, shouldn't that also apply to trans men and women? And shouldn't non binary people be free to be as masculine or feminine as they want or not, without it invalidating their gender? Because those who use the arguments portrayed by these interviews would have us believe that all trans people hold these two dimensional views on gender, and when they escape that they see they've been wrong.
That's not my experience, as someone who exists in many trans spaces.
It's not my experience of myself. I'm non binary because that's me. The world doesn't have to (and doesn't) see me as that for that to just be who I am. Because I'm living authentically me I can feel comfortable experimenting with skirts, and makeup (in a non traditional way however). I'm me in a dress. I'm me in a binder. I'm me when I've been she'd and her'd all day, and me just happens to be non binary and the people who have called me she are just wrong as my pronouns are they/them.
I'm happy being attracted to women. I'm relatively comfy in my fat body. I don't have to identify as non binary to protect myself from trauma or fix my life or feel ok about aspects of myself, because it's just a part of me. I'm happy identifying lesbian adjacent. Others will make my being non binary into a bigger deal than it is to me, by suggesting it's caused by or causing every problem in my life, which it isn't.
It doesn't make my life easier from the perspective of interacting with people who don't or refuse to understand, but it makes me comfy in my skin.
I love being a feminist. I love being non binary and trans and wanting to transition by having top surgery. I also don't think people should need or have the desire to transition in any way to be believed to be who they say they are.
    Everyone's identity is different.
    Put it this way:
Some people think they want to be a doctor, all their lives. They're dreamed about it since they were a kid, they used to dress up and play as a doctor all the time, they love going through school and then uni. But then they get a job a GP and they hate it and they can't understand why. They move on to a oncologist, then a pediatrician.
They could then try an enter another area of medicine or switch careers, which should they do?
The answer is it completely depends on what they didn't like about being a doctor. Maybe they thought they's finally get their parent's respect. Maybe they thought having a good income would give them a good ground to build a family or community. Maybe they really like the theory and actual treating but don't like working with people, and so look into vet jobs.
Regardless of what they do we know that we can't know this person better than they know themselves. Maybe they were wrong to want to be a doctor because they didn't really know what it meant but the only way of them finding this information out was by living and doing the job.
Does that mean a person can never truly want to be and then happily become a doctor?
Some people think they're trans and then later think they were wrong. The argument of ROGD and these videos is that the desire to transition /always/ stems from a desire to fix or change part of themselves or the way they're seen.

Cat calls are annoying but being a man is a lot more dangerous as nearly 80% of homicide victims are men. I can understand how women can be more vulnerable in many situations but most offenders are men and most victims are men and as a man you’re 30x more likely to be a victim of homicide.
