Congrats on the new kit! It is by far the best kit for gigging. The hardware is TOP NOTCH. I also had to stick with clear heads for a bit because the inside of the drums is so pretty, but some coated emperors over clear ambassadors and I could not be happier
That is awesome, you must be stoked! The walnut/birch sounds great. Two months ago I got a good deal on an ex shop display 3 piece 22x14, 12x8, 16x16, classic sizes to fit the classic looking wrap. I have seen that wrap or very similar, under different names, on Ludwig kits. Am also waiting patiently for a matching 13x9 tom from Tama. I just rewrapped an old orphan Tama Royalstar 18x16 floor tom in grey diamond pearl to go with it. Not quite the same but it fits OK at the back of the kit, and it sounds surprisingly good too. Gotta love Tama. Enjoy playing the kit!
Congrats on the new tubs!! I got the same kit 2 years ago, the only difference was I got the limited gloss charcoal Tamo ash version. They are awesome drums and as they age and warm up, I swear the tone gets sweeter. Hit ‘em’ hard and rock on!!!
When you said the drum set never showed up that day 😭 I screamed and punched the air for you ! I feel that. When I got my new kit last year I made the mistake ordering it from Amazon…ha never again…they took like 2-3 weeks longer because it was “extremely oversized” and they needed a certain kind of truck and all types of b.s. excuses. 😭🥴 but anywho awesome looking and sounding kit 🔥🔥👏🏽
@@keithlambson well I play in the edrum realm but I got a Roland VAD706 with an extra floor tom to go with it 😈🔥 with all the extra hardware needed 😭 my credit card still has yet to recover all the way 😂 but sooooo worth it for me. I’ve been looking at a lot of acoustic kit content though. 2025 I think I’m pulling the trigger on one for the first time.
Amazing kit! Thinking of buying this kit in the exact same finish, but cannot decide between this kit or a DW Design. Thoughts? And how do you like this kit 4 months later since the posting of this video?
Been absolutely loving it. Both recording and gigging it has been amazing. Can’t say enough good things about the hardware as well. I haven’t played the design series, but did end up choosing this over that based on specs
@@ghiblinerd6196 oh for sure! If they made them with the walnut ply on the outside I’d go natural for sure. Unfortunately, they out both walnut plies inside.

No, the new Starclassics are made in China. I believe the only drums made in Japan are the Star series and special order starclassics
