Arkansas Edge has a PR problem in promotion. I am evidently one of the few who have signed up for Edge monthly, and it only happened because I am already contributing to the UofA. Outside of a few QR codes here and there during live events, no one sees an advertising campaign designed to get fans to sign up. Where are the bells and whistles and a compelling message tapping into Arkansas fandom? It is only found on Edge media, it is not consumed by the general public. You must seek it out, which is a terrible advertising campaign.

How many former Hogs, that had(or are having) lucrative professional careers are giving back to their school in the form of NIL? Like Nolan used to say at Razorback Clubs "it's tax deductible".

Regarding Arkansas Edge, and I’m asking, what does a fan get in return for participating? Ticket priority, merchandise discount, etc…We are a poor state but passionate fans. I’m hoping there is value in return for the investment. If it’s a hand out then that’s on the program

Good question, they are offering different packages that have some cool perks like you are mentioning. With the basic membership that is $25 a month, you get exclusive apparel and swag giveaways, exclusive student athlete digital content and invitations to watch parties and tailgates. Those perks go up the more you give. All that info is over on their website.

The university doesn't release how those donations are distributed amongst the various programs and athletes. Seems ripe for corruption to me. You don't really know where or to whom your money is going.

As a fan I look at the cost of seats and adding in another cost for the NIL. We are not a super wealthy state and are of lower population so the support isn't going to be there to help that. Lower the cost of going to a game and then we could swing more for NIL.

    Hey guys...
Read the small print... the note that came out about Alloy being the highest NIL earner said it was limited to 'olympic' sports... and excluded football and basketball.
Now... he may still be the highest, but may want to double check. I doubt he is higher than our QB1 OR LJackson..

Or like Courtney said, he’s just opening it up to take visits and enjoy this time. My son knew where he wanted to go, but didn’t commit because it was fun to get to go on official visits and such. He wanted to do as much of that as possible. I think Bear is doing the same.

I just learned from this that HS Recruiting isn't a big deal? LMAO at that take. Celebrating a LB that's a 4 star like he's DMac is nonsense. I think I am what they are calling haters since I am very concerned about losing the top player from Arkansas two years in a row. Maybe I am a hater because also don't think we are doing well in Arkansas and that's a death sentence. I mean what coach on this staff is from Arkansas? I know Courtney doesn't think that's important but she's not a born and raised Razorback from Arkansas! It matters and losing one inside the state top player after another is a bad bad sign.

    • @elmerfudpucker5387
      @elmerfudpucker5387 3 місяці тому +2

The in-state players know about the football program the best and they aren't going there. That should tell you that the football program is dysfunctional and not committed to winning until they hire a qualified head coach.

    • @TheRMcghee

@@elmerfudpucker5387 Exactly the HS coaches don't respect Pittman. And he's failed to hire a single coach who has Arkansas blood? I mean what State College has zero coaches from the state the team is from? Not sure but would bet none. The Daily kid from Alma last year didn't get any contact from Arkansas and is going as a prefered walkon to Mizzou? I can tell you the family was more than pissed. Not the only one of this type. I'm telling you having zero Arkansas coaches on his staff is a huge deal inside the state.

    • @ChrisBeavers-pg4sj

A four star LB from Georgia (one of the biggest hotbeds for football talent) is a big deal. I understand why he was running around since he didn’t think he was gonna get him in the first place. Also to your point on coaches being from Arkansas, that’s silly. Is Nick Saban from Alabama? No he’s not he’s from West Virginia. Is Coach K from North Carolina? No he’s from Illinois. That’s ridiculous to think there needs to be a coach from the state. All they need is a coach that wins, don’t care where hes from

@@ChrisBeavers-pg4sj Your reading comprehension is shaky. Maybe read what I wrote! Your entire post has nothing to do with anything I posted. You have never coached or probably played in the state of Arkansas. It does matter to the coaches and it does matter to the parents. I have been involved in recruiting and have far more knowledge than your silly ignorant comments. You just don't know you have to be in the game to understand and have to be from Arkansas to understand what Arkansas is about. I think you are silly when you go on a rant about something that has nothing to do with what was posted.

@@TheRMcghee then explain what you mean by “I mean what coach is from Arkansas?” And you even put in your reply “he’s failed to hire a single coach who has Arkansas blood?” Also, you don’t know me at all. I’m born and raised Arkansan and played sports here. Once again, I personally dont care if a coach is from here, what I care about is if they can win. I agree, having players on your roster from the state is great, but if they are recruiting more from Georgia, Texas and Florida, I’m okay with that. That’s where the best talent is. And I want the hogs to win, so I’m not gonna hate on the fact they are trying to recruit there too.

Commitments don't really matter because when Pittman is fired, most of those guys will reopen their recruiting.

He's a dead man walking and it's only putting the program in a deeper hole. Just like Muss had alienated the bigtime donors Pittman has lost them. Hire the right coach and just like hiring Cal the NIL will be there. Just what is going on? Bringing him back is going to cost a lot more than his buyout would have cost.

@@joshuacarr1720 Wow! Now it's the doomsday fans ruining recruiting! I mean that's total BS. You think recruits can't read or don't have any common sense. They aren't making decisions on what random fans are saying on FB. NIL and no faith in Pittman is the problem. While you and many regular fans might love the good ole boy have a cold beer Sam Pittman. Recruits see him as a corny old grampa type. Dufus. But sure it's the fans that are causing him to be a terrible recruiter. And coach. Better days? I damn sure hope so but having serious questions about Pittman is just truth.
