Nice boat . When I was in Colorado, Idaho, and Wyoming I saw a lot of drift boats used for fishing tours. Greetings from south east Alabama USA ☮️❤️
My dad was gifted one by his father in about 1972. Still sits next to the McKenzie river, occasionally gets used.

Excellent . I built a Don Hill boat in 2003. Met the man and got the plans from him. Great drifter. been thinking of building another. Still have the plans.Enjoy that boat. Nothing rows like a wooden drift boat.

Simply amazing! Can you imagine back in the day when they used to make ships and boats with no power tools, no nails, no screws, no epoxy, not much of anything. I realize people still build smaller boats using mostly the same methods for fun, or in restorations, but damn, with everything you had to work with it only took 5 minutes to throw that together! Amazing what you can do with today’s technology and a master woodworker at the helm! Great job!

Dad said, if you ever see any long ash ores, buy them for me. I bought pair ores at Friday Harbor San Juan Island Marina. Next time I saw dad, after giving him this long pair of ores, next time I see him, he had this drift boat built to match ores!
My dad found a brand new set of the long oars at a garage sale and bought them, but still uses the old ones. Idk if they're ash, but very heavy.

Love the build. I built one many years ago with epoxy and peanut butter and a solid floor. But I really love the classic design much better. I didn't see a fly pole though.

I agree with Juston but I have a small (don't I always) problem. You put the name on the forward port side and not on the starboard side or the aft end.

Good video but that free hand diagonal cut on the table saw at 5:04 made me hold my breath. That was a kick back waiting to be one of the 40,000 a year table saw injuries a year .

As a long time watcher of several boat build videos I can say this is one of the best I have seen! Gorgeous boat. Like the full depiction of the build and sense of humor shown too. I'd be afraid to take it through white water but the river you use it on looks plenty boat friendly. I'm going to share the link on a large group I am a moderator of.
