Ronnie James Dio is the kind of frontman that all guitarists dream about having in their band....You feel like you could accomplish anything on stage. ☼LEGEND☼ RIP
- Being in rock ‘n’ roll for so long, how did you escape the rock lifestyle and never got into any scandal? I was raised by great parents whose respect I never wanted to lose, and abusing myself was certainly not the way to keep their respect. - You never dabbled with drugs either. Was it due to you having a pharmacology degree? No. It was because I saw how destructive it was, and how it dulled your sensibilities and ate up your talent and your life.

It's interesting reading those facts about guys we look up to, like Dio. Imperfections are part of what make us human, so knowing about those things help us connect better. The false image of perfection only creates a gap between us as humans and artists as idols. Dio was one of the most human guys outside of the stage from all I read about him.
Doug Aldrich is not only a great guitarist, he is a super nice guy. Have seen him in Vegas twice now. He signs autographs and takes pictures with his fans. That was a testament to his long standing relationship with Ronnie James Dio. Ronnie was big on that. Performing for the fans and respecting the fans. JJ
A young Doug met Randy Rhoads back in 1981. He was blown away with how cool and friendly Randy was. A week later Doug has the chance to see Randy again (he was doing gigs with Dubrow while on a short break from Ozzy). Doug walks in and sees Randy. Randy says, "Hey Doug, what's up man?". I think Doug took that lesson from Randy. Humble, gracious and appreciative of what he has. Randy to a tee.

One of my favourite Rainbow songs. I was there at this concert. So exciting to hear this live. What an amazing voice & person. What a terrible loss. Thankfully we all can listen to his great works & see videos like this.
6 years ago, I've seen the film the pick of destiny. Fell in love with the Dio part, then searched Dio in youtube. This song was the very first one I have listened. Rest in Peace great god. Wish you were with us. I'm still loving you after all this time, and I always will. Tremendous voice
Amazing how his voice got better with age! Take a look back at his work when he was young and you can see he didn't hold notes as long as he did in the later years. Heaven and Hell reboot along with solo stuff during 2005 -2008 was just pure magic, long live the true king!
Nice to hear a very clean-but-driving version of this great tune. The guitarist really honored Ritchie Blackmore's original solo, and the entire arrangement honored the original version overall. Most excellent!
Dino is/was about the best you could ever get on vocals for this genre. Doug Aldridge can play just about any genre of music and make it sound like it’s his favorite and it’s all he played. Great musicianship all around.
Wow! I am blown away. Huge Dio fan here. First listen: I thought, "fantastic, but wait. Can they pull off the guitar solo?" Silly thought. Not only did Doug Aldrich shine but he absolutely crushed it! What a great band. I hope some how some way they can carry on and on. Thank you for sharing your talents, gentlemen.
Great version of this song. Guitar work by Doug is off the charts. One of my favorites, have the CD of the whole concert, it is superb. Play it at least weekly, VERY loud.
Feeling sorry for RJD, his voice sounded broken already here. Saw him in 78, and 81, 83 etc, when his voice was the power singing voice #1 in the world.
